I can't even begin to catch up.

Tried scanning recent posts but running out of time so wanted to just say hello quickly.

We are all ok (thanks Sarah for checking on us and sorry poor Harry has tonsillitis ). Must get some new pics of us on the profile page.

lljkk DS2 points too! Like mad. At everything. All the time. He points and grunts saying "I want that, I want that, I want that", esp if I am holding him and he can see things normally hidden from view (like rice cake packet on worktop)!

alkar · 02/03/2009 17:14

Hi egg we missed you

I've stopped bf. DS hasn't been interested fo a couple of days I have been trying but have been bitten several times - not fun he has 10 (I think) teeth. I am making an effort to not even offer the boob tonight and I am going out with a couple of mums watching shopaholic yay!!!!

ImSallyIHaventAClue · 03/03/2009 00:56

Hello everyone!

I am better. Struggling manfully (womanfully?) with work. Eating lots of chocolate

Got to go to bed now but just checking in to say hi to all. xx

miniandme · 03/03/2009 07:58

WELCOME BACK EGG dont leave it so long nexttime-

Alkar- bites with 10 teeth on a very delicate area cannot be good!!!!! DD toddles over to me and randomly bites- thats enough!!!! little monkey!!!!!!

swotty you ok?

lees mum not heard from you for a while hope you and your scrummy boys are ok

alkar · 03/03/2009 08:42

Poor abby mini. I have no experience of chicken pox yet but I sure it will come soon now that I've stopped bf.

Shopaholic was brill last night very funny. DS was getting hot again before I went out so I worried about him all through the film but I guess thats just part of being a mummy!

Has anyone ever noticed high temps with teething? Yesterday he had a very red cheek and was much hotter on that side of his face

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 03/03/2009 11:58

we have raised temp when teething alkar!!!!

alkar · 03/03/2009 13:20

Thanks Sarah everyone keeps telling me it doesn't happen!

swottybetty · 03/03/2009 14:53

oh mini, poor abby as you say, hopefully out of the way before wedding but cant be nice for all of you.

alkar we have the bright red cheeks thing while teething. and a vague rashery all over. and incessant rubbing of sore red face. a CM who takes kids to one of our music groups reckons the eczema gets a lot worse with teething. also, she has just discovered she doesnt have to lie immobileon back while in cot. damn. keep on hearing these cries and finding her sat hanging head low sadly and exhausted. or biting bars, or just having a fight with grobag and own legs. poor love.

hi to all else, esp egg. must have quick kip. dd woke twenty to four, not back asleep til 8.30 am at which point I SPENT AN HOUR CLEANING. why?????????? i was so shagged that when she woke i shut us both in her room where i kipped on floor for an hour and half while she cralwed around. woke and ate an entire pack of chipolatas. I WILL NEVER COPE WITH TWO. unless the second comes with teeth already grown. and his own nanny....

Well saw 2 docs and neither are sure whether its measles or a severe variation on chicken pox !! She had a nasal swab taken to determine if measles but lack of white spots in the back of the throat kinda indicate not measles. She is soo irritable its such a shame, have been bathing her in oilatum and bicarbonate of soda, covering her skin in aloe vera gel and have gotten some clamine lotion too to try ,also given her piriton and calpol but she is still soo poorly.
any other ideas to help relive the itching are welcome!!
She wants cuddled but cant tolerate being touched its so hard to watch her fretting

swottybetty · 03/03/2009 18:55

oh poor thing esp re not wanting to be touched but still wanting cuddles. mini i had somehow forgot the twins were your numbers four and five. i am in awe. i am sorry i have no itch relief advice.

Oh mini - poor Abby - that looks awful. So many on her poor face. Hopefully it is just the chickenpox although I think measles is becoming more common these days. Chickenpox must be more likely though since Jack has just had it?

Swotty - you WILL manage with 2 - I have every confidence in you! Remember you won't be pregnant so will have more energy (and be more rational).

Ds3 has progressed from saying 'bad' to saying 'bad baby' when he throws his cup off the high chair or knocks the spoon out of my hand - not exactly what I had in mind for his early words.......... He dances every time he hears music - he and ds2 were having a little disco in our living room this afternoon!

Anyway off to do our tesco shop online since I'm back at work again tomorrow.

Hope everyone's ok!

Egg · 04/03/2009 07:18

Hi everyone just checking in v quickly wanted to say to mini that my niece had CP when she was about the same age as our twins and she had it baaaaaaaaaaad. She looked worse that the pic of Abby (I was just looking at a pic of her the other day) but on the pic she had scabbed so that's maybe why it looked worse. She was really poorly for a few days and had it way worse than her sister who was older and had it at same time.

Fingers crossed for you that it is "just" CP.

Elec being turned off all day today from 9am. Not sure how I will cope! Babies off for jabs at 9am too.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 04/03/2009 12:14

Hi ya, Hope everyone is ok- Hows Abby today Mini?

Swotty u ok?

We i wentto collect DS from preschool at 11-15 and his teacher opens the door early and asks me to go in, get inside where she informs me he has sudddenly gone very pale and think he may be sick!!!!, as i got to him he projectile vomited in my direction!!!!! poor little lamb looked dreadful, The teaching staff were fab, so calm, and ckering up the mess(that really did smell awful) all i kept saying was i am so sorry, please let me do that!!!!!!

He is off now til monday as he needs to be off for 48hrs!!!!that said he is now quite happy say eating lunch

I had to go out past all the waiting parents and apoligised to them for yet another bloody illness, sice end of jan beg of feb, he has had, the c pox, tonsilitis and now this arggggggghhhhhhhhh poor child!!!!

miniandme · 04/03/2009 16:22

OMG what a night we have had !! she went down for about an hour then got up screaming and wrestling with herself as she just couldnt settle for the itching, she was bathed,we used aloe vera gel on her, piriton, aveeno cream, calpol, nurofen the lot and still we couldnt settle her.
Then jack woke up and joined her screaming ,both twins downstairs at 11ish into seats, they wached an episode of teletubbies then jack resettled with a bottle of milk upstairs. Abbys distress continued and i resorted to putting her in the buggy and walking her round town just before midnight in a driving snow blizzard !!She was fine and cosy but i was soaked when we returned home at 12.45 with her asleep, she stayed asleep long enough for me to get out of my wet things and off she went again,i ended up with the travel cot set up in the sitting room and it took till 3.30 this am for her to eventually be so exhausted her body gave into sleep.

In amongst all this dd1 whos 6 and shares a room with the twins was woken up and spent half hour crying ,then ds1 our eldest woke and came down stairs to join me with abby at about 1am,he takes meds to sleep so once his sleep is disturbed thats him awake for the night !!

I was then up at 7 for school runs etc which fortunately dp done, then i was packed back upstairs off to bed at 10am and just resurfaced ready to face another night at 3pm .

Her spots look a little less firey now so hoefully we might get a better night tonight-wish me luck !!

gingermumi · 04/03/2009 19:47

poor you mini. When dd2 had the pox she was only happy in the bath. She even had them in her bits, bless her, so it hurt her when she weed, we found letting her sit in the bath for ages was the only way to calm her down- might help with yours, hope you get a better night

Gill79 · 04/03/2009 22:49

what a night mini.Sometimes you just have to give up any idea of sleep! Hope tonight better.

omy · 05/03/2009 15:29

Hello from another world. Sorry I have been away but the is hitting the fan re work as my little darlings will fail if I don't kick them up the proverbial and that unfortunately means me working harder! ugh.

Still, I am pleased I have a job as so many are stuggling - DH for one! No work for a year has meant he is the nanny (and loving it mostly)but good news yesterday - he has got 5 weeks of work on a movie. Yay. He said yesterday 'I don't really want the work, I just want the money!' which I thought was rather amusing. This means we are looking for someone to look after Leila for 5 weeks. I have a friend who is pregnant so that might work. Plus I know loads of out of work musicians!

I will have a read and a catch up now,as I wait for orchestra rehearsal in half an hour!

omy · 05/03/2009 15:42

OMG mini what a night! hope you're over the worst! Have you tried rhus tox? I know homeopathy may only be a placebo but I still use it!

Sarah - poor little Harry - perhaps that is the reason behind the poo accidents - you DH must be feeling awful (at least I hope he is!)

Rozzy LOL at 'bad baby!' I wish we could get our dancing babies together! Leila is a funky dancer. He only words are woof woof and 'ouch' which is very cute.

Swotty - looks like those cleaning hormones are kicking in! DH lies on the floor kipping which LO plays around him. He is careful to cover his face with his arm as she sometimes whacks him with a toy! Deserves it I say! Number 2 will be entertained by number 1. It will be great! (I hope!)

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 05/03/2009 21:13

Hi everyone- how are you all????

DD has a new word- SIT!!!!!!!! i was telling our dog Merlin to Sit earlier and as palin as day- she said MERL Sit!!!!!!wot a clever babyu i have!!!!!!

I have sorted her toy box today as i am sick of seeing toys everywhere i look!!!! i have a very spoilt little girly!!!!!!hahahaha

Hows poor Abby today Mini?

Harry has been sick and slept most of the day at tea time i got him to eat a few crackers and he has now gone to bed fingers crossed tomorrow he will be fine!!!!!!! Poor little man- u watch me get it in the night as i have a long weekend from work, its sods law!!!!!!!!

i too wish we could get together, surley we can think of a way !!!!!!!i am in the midlands and can travel!!!!!!- how willing am i!!!!!PMSL

not much more to say, except OMY great about you DH geting some work, it must be a relief!!!! although i know what he means about wanting the money and not the work!!!lol i this SAHM/D should be paid its the hardest job in the world, and who better than to care for our children than us, its such a shame that finances have to dicate the wey we live!!!!!!!

OMY dont work to Hard, xxxxx

miniandme · 05/03/2009 21:54

Well we had a better day today, the spots are a lot less firey and she is in better spirits, omy yeh i used rhus tox for both the twins while they have had the pox ,i prefer natural remedies than a lot of medical ones.
She sat today in her highchair and watched while i had my hair trial for the wedding done, she was rather transfixed by the rollers in my hair
We have lots of words here from Abby including telling jack 'bad bad' and 'dirty dirty' !! along with the usual mummy ,daddy taa taa, today she has started to try andshould on Jack now too getting just the ja.....
Jack on the other hand, shouts daddy and thats about his whack!! Though he has masses of teeth and can actually run now !Funny how they are all so different eh !

strawberrycornetto · 05/03/2009 22:16

Mini, poor Abby. I really hope you all get a better night tonight.

Swotty, you'll be fine. If I'd have realised how good it would be to have two I would have done it much sooner. Just found out someone I work with is pregnant and I am very and a bit .

Hello Egg and Omy Sarah, hope your DS is ok.

V tired, working v hard this week, so no energy for a long message.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 06/03/2009 16:51

Hi everyone,

Hope your all ok,

Harry is better today we have had a lovely day as he ws still not allowed into preschool as they have to be 48hrs clear !!!! we spent the day at my parents who took the three of us out to a carvery for lunch- woo hoo- dont need to cook dinner now, DH can ahve something ou the freezer!!!!!!

i am now at home with DD sleeping and DS stayed with nanny and grandad- he may srtaying for a sleep over too!!!!!! that would be nice !!!!!!

so i am feeling much happeir too!!!!!

off to watch some TV i think as i get the chance!!!!

strawberrycornetto · 06/03/2009 21:03

Hi Sarah, glad Harry is better.

I'm a bit under the weather so am off to bed now I think. DH has gone on a stag weekend and once he left I realised I'm a bit that he didn't even offer to stay home. He only got back from a trip yesterday and is away until Sunday evening so I'm on my own with the children and I've had a really rough couple of days with a problem with my period. I've had lots of bad bleeding and had to have my coil taken out today. Really wish he was here to look after me and take some of the strain.

Anyone have intersting plans?

rozzyraspberry · 07/03/2009 20:13

Poor you strawberry - I'm now glad I didn't go for the coil after all - just went back on the pill. Somet times think I should just take the plunge and go for a more permanent solution but nervous about doing something more final. Hope you feel better soon and have an uneventful weekend.

No exciting plans here - ds2 now has slapped cheek after ds1 having it last week. The problem with them mixing with different kids during the day is that they never catch things at the same time and we have a prolonged period of illness! He's just utterly exhausted and having lots of naps poor thing.

Found out today that my SIL is pregnant with number 3!! Her oldest will only be 3yrs 5 months old when the baby is born - she will have her hands full!!
