Gill you sound like you have had a very busy day, xxxxx

Hi everyone, bin really busy here, went to work today at 2pm for some further training so am shattered!!!!! i normally work 6pm til 9pm starting the the middle of the afternoon was no fun!!!!!! but i learnt a fair amount of useless info!!!!

Rosie is doing really well with her attempts at walking she had crossed the living room in our house numerous times today!!!![proud] have got her on video camera and she is just so funny!!!!!!!

think harry is coming down with yet another illness- poss tonsilitis- keeps saying his neck is sore but i just cannot see! his tongue is in the way lol!!! will see how he is tomorrow but think it could be a trip to the docs for him!!!!!

right off to my bed i think, nite nite, hope you are all ok, its getting far too quiet on this thread i am getting a complex!!!!

strawberrycornetto · 25/02/2009 22:32

Hello. Getting very excited now about DS's birthday. Presents are wrapped and have taken a break from tidying up. We are taking DS and DD to the zoo tomorrow then have my mum and nan coming for cake in the afternoon .

Swotty, lol at the head. We have similar with waving, which is now rolled out for everything. Have desperately hothoused with lions and duck quacks but to no avail...!!

Gill, hope you enjoyed your day off. Am also with you on the challenging eating. DS doesn't really like being fed so is only really interested in either completely pureed easy to swallow food or finger food. He had a rusk today (it contained his first milk since allergy was diagnosed as gone, very exciting!!) and had a complete strop when he had finished and DD was still eating, such a temper on him too!! Miss Nat, I know what you mean.

Sarah, hello, how's your week going?? Princess, nice to hear from you.

strawberrycornetto · 25/02/2009 22:34

Sarah, missed your post cause I had the screen open for so long. Well done Rosie on the walking, hope Harry is ok cause tonsillitis is pretty miserable. How old is he (sorry, have missed out on some of the history, I think he may be 4ish like DD but not entirely sure).

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY LITTLE ONES!!!!!!

hope you all have fab days,

SC- Harry was four in jan!!!!! bless him he sounds awful!!!! your DS's birthday plans sound lovely i am sure he will have a wonderful day xxxx, i still cannot believe all our babies have reached the grand age of one already!!!!!!!!

lljkk · 26/02/2009 09:46

Gosh, that must be nice, when you have ajust one child and you can easily make a big fuss of their 1st birthday.

Then again, I didn't even do that when I DID have one child. You can imagine how blase I am about baby4's 1st birthday .

Speaking of which, DS4 is pointing, one of those big milestones, so I'm quite pleased. No words as such, though he seems to have his own sounds for "Oh no!" and "Fire".

I am Xing my fingers hoping all the poorly babies get better. Baby has had very mild conjunctivitis off and on for a few weeks. At one point it was viral and spread to DS2 (I think), but only for a few days.

alkar · 26/02/2009 11:39

Happy birthday Joseph and Sophie.

DS is OK but he's still warm. The last 2 nights I've gone in to check on him and he has taken his pj top and his socks off so He's just got pj bottoms on with the windows open. His room thermometer says 14* and he's normal temperature. Very weird esp as I'm always cold

swottybetty · 26/02/2009 13:08

happpy birthday joseph (and sophie)...i do llike the name joseph . we have decided on our boys name but i confess i am not completely sold.

lions is tricky strawb - quite ambitious and with hindsight i wish i'd spent the time on other sounds.... we now can wriggle fingers. and out of blue dd has started doing fish mouth which is strange cause i have only ever tried that with her three or four times. dd's cousin who is also a pfb and is three months older is coming for dd's b-day and gosh i feel the pressure. she was walking at 10months and i am fairly sure had a good grasp of elementary latin by her first b-day. oh darn i am so competitive with my brother..... [deep breath}

we have had eczema on dd's forehead for about three weeks now. we got some diprocream off dr's last week and it got a lot better v quick but has now come back despite us carrying on with cream. it looks v sore and makes me . anyone else got any experience of eczema? dont want to use steroid creams but its not getting better.

alkar glad your ds doing ok. sarah sorry to hear about yours. gill - i am at your energy. you are quite scary, you know? who was laying a patio the day before their due date? was it sally?

Hope you enjoyed your day off Gill .

How is Harry sarah ? Did it turn out to be tonsilitus?

Happy 1st Birthday Sophie & Joseph!!

How your DS starts to improve soon alker. Poor baby.

Henley is still full of a cold and really grumpy. Hes also had green runny poo for the last couple of days too .

We put him in his own room lastnight. I didnt sleep a wink where as he was fine. He woke a couple of times because i think he had a tummy ache. When i went into his room the stench coming from his nappy was revolting . He slept until about 7am and then got in bed with me until 9am.

Ive spent the last 3 days cleaning the WHOLE of my house. Ive filled 3 dustbins with rubbish. I can not beleive how much stuff we had that was just sitting there. Next job is to sort the loft.

Oh oh, i nearly forfot to tell you. Ive lost ..............17lbs since the new yr!!! . I am extremally proud of myself and a dress size smaller. Still got about another 2.5 st to go and ill he happy.

miniandme · 26/02/2009 18:32

Swottybetty we use oilatum in the bath and aveeno cream on Abbys skin for her exzema, aveeno is made with oatmeal so is ideal ,it doesnt take it away but keeps it under control,it has been a godsend for jack and his itchy chicken pox too !!

Missnatalie WELL DONE GIRL !!! what have you been doing to lose the weight ?? im still losing from having the twins have lost 4 stone since having them but have loads more to lose!!i got put on reductil by the doctor last week and have since lost 7lbs so cant wait to see how much my wedding dress needs taken in. 8 weeks tomorrow im getting very excited, planning hen nights and hair and make up trials woohoo !

strawberrycornetto · 26/02/2009 19:37

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. DS had a lovely day, and I felt really happy but a little bit sad that my DS isn't a baby any more He's gone to bed now in his new glow in the dark big boy PJs [grin[. He loved the tigers at the zoo, and DD had a whale of a time!!

Swotty, am also competitive, my friends have a baby 3 days older than DS and I am always secretly comparing!! We don't have any major achievements as such other than waving, although he makes lots of sounds that seem to be almost words, like hiya and thank you. Lljkk, how did your DS learn to say fire?

Swotty, re the eczema, DS and DD have it. We also use oilatum in the bath which now seems to keep it under control but only really managed to get rid of it with steroid cream. It also seemed to be related to his dairy allergy because when I cut it out, it really did clear up and his skin is pretty good now. Thanks for being nice about his name. It took us 20 weeks to decide on a boys name, I actually kind of hoped I wasn't having a boy just because I really struggled to think of a name. In fact, this time last year, I remember being in the recovery room and saying to DH that I still wasn't sure and was that the name we were going for. He then told me he'd been out and sent texts to all our family and friends saying that we had a Joseph, so that was that!!! What are your options, or do you not want to say?

Miss Nat, that's fantastic re the weight loss. I've gained half a stone since I stopped BF at Christmas and am pretty gutted but don't seem to be able to resolve it. As far as grumpy Henley goes, he's practicing for man flu when he grows up Also impressed at your house tidying, you are setting a fantastic example this week

Mini, how exciting, only 8 weeks to go, bet you can't wait.

rozzyraspberry · 26/02/2009 20:18

Hiya everyone.

First of all happy birthday Joseph - glad you've had a lovely day Strawberry!! I too have put on weight since stopping bf at the start of the year. I also don't think being back at work is helping as I'm far more inactive at work than when I'm at home.

Well done on the weight loss misnat.

8 weeks to go mini - how exciting.

Life is a bit hectic here (as usual!!). Work is far too busy (we have the dreaded auditors out for the next 2 weeks and I am nowhere near as organised as I would usually be) and I've had an annoying cough for the last 2 weeks - tis driving me mad I'm barking like a dog the whole time.

Swotty ds2 had exzema and we also had oilatum and aquaous creams from the docs. He seems to have grown out of it though. From memory of using steroid creams in the past I think they quite often say not to put them on the face where the skin is more delicate. I find vaseline quite good on dry bits sometimes - ds3 has had red bits behind his knees but that's sorted it out - might make your poor dds face a bit shiny though. Remember non steroid creams can be applied as often as you want. How is the pregnancy going - how long to go now? My friend at work goes off on mat leave in 2 weeks to have her first baby - very exciting!

Am off to watch masterchef.

oooppppps i only pressed it once!!!!!! i think!!!!lol

missnatalie · 27/02/2009 09:39

Morning all

Gosh 40.4. Poor Harry. Why is everyone so poorly at the moment .

Henley is getting better. Hes ate more yesterday: 20 spoons of baby porridge, half a jar of baby food for dinner and then the other half for tea. Nowhere near what he normally eats but alot better than a whole lot of nothing. Oh and he had a rusk. He slept better lastnight too. Only woke once. I tried to settle him back off but he was having none of it so i put him in bed with my and DP. 1hr later he was fast asleep and straight back into his room. He then slept until 8.30am.

Ive joined this website www.weightlossresource.co.uk for my diet. Its a calorie watching diet. You can basically eat anything just as long as you dont go over your calories (which i did yesterday). I started off on 1350 cal per day as the weight comes off they gradually reduce your allowance. Im on 1249 at the moment. It can be tough as you have to weigh everything but its working for me. Give it a go. You can sign up for 24hrs free of charge. After that you can join properly for 9.80 pm. I think its fab. Ive never stuck to a diet but this one is so easy.

On baby girl names. Henley was going to be Lola Mai or Ella Mai. If we do decide to have anymore we still like Lola Mai or Lola Se` (pronounced Shay) and Devon Leigh for a boy. Like Harley too but sounds too much like Henley..............Not that im planning anymore anytime soon

rozzyraspberry · 27/02/2009 13:47

Poor Harry Sarah. Luckily the medicine usually kicks in pretty quick so I hope he starts to feel better soon. Ds1 is off school today because he's full of the cold and hot and head achey. He's just had a daytime nap for the first time in around 4 years!!! He has 2 parties this weekend so I hope he manages to go to them because he's been so excited.

Miss nat that doesn't sound like very many calories a day! After I had ds2 I joined tesco diets online and did the GI diet which worked for me too. I don't have great willpower though so rely on trying to get plenty of exercise to try and keep the weight off - not really working at the moment since there's been so many bugs etc going round its been hard to get motivated to exercise. I'm planning on running a half marathon in June though so my 12 week training schedule starts at the end of March - think it may just kill me.

swottybetty · 27/02/2009 15:21

happy b-day Lovemymum's katherine. hopw you still check in with us and that all's going well with you and your dd xx

ty for all the eczema info. i knew it was quite common but then i never see any other babies with it so bad on face so it does upset me. rozzy, dr said it would have to be worse for longer before they'd prescribe steriods anyway. she is fine everywhere else -- but she has always rubbed her forehead a lot and i can never get fingernails quite short enough so that she cant scratch. seems like we're in a rub-flare-rub cycle. strawb - i do wonder about dairy. MIL is serious allergic and SIL (dh's sis) doesnt eat/drink dairy cause intorelance. ho hum.

sarah and missnat am sorry to hear your lo's are ill.

Gill79 · 27/02/2009 22:42

Well done on the weight loss MissNat! Very impressive. I'm another one who's put on weight after stopping bf. Might have a look at that website. Although have lost appetite with mysterious illness - feels like a hangover, lasts for days (and I only had two glasses of wine, with dinner, on one night so can't be that) plus DP has had it, and a friend we saw on Monday. Felt awful yesterday which was annoying as was my day at work.

Also had auditors in Rozzy. Luckily my bit passed yesterday but not without a fair bit of stress last week (someone else been doing my job for the last year which makes it hard to keep track of things) Anyway finished this job as of yesterday and got a few days of holiday (with Malc at nursery) before starting new role.

Swotty I never got round to actually digging the patio. Moved bricks, sawed a pipe off, dealt with a visit from the council's building control man, went climbing, cooked a chilli and washed up before getting Malc from nursery. Which does sound scary but then I was dying the next day - clearly overstretched myself.

MissNat I know all about those horrible green nappies. They stink so bad..... I swear one morning I was having a dream about the awful smell from Malcolm's nappy and he was in the other room! Hope Henley better soon. Also hope Harry gets better - LOL at not wanting his neck cut off Sarah

miniandme · 01/03/2009 09:24

Aaaaaargh we now have Abby with the pox !! At least they have both taken it quite young and will be all cleared up in time for the wedding but geez we are only just getting over caring for jack and the sleepless nights that went with him having them
explains why she was so whiney all day yesterday though -wish me luck for the next week

Gill79 · 01/03/2009 20:17

bad luck mini..... (and Abby of course!) Maybe she won't have it as badly. Fingers crossed!

strawberrycornetto · 01/03/2009 20:19

Hello all. Just a quickie, we've had guests all weekend for DS's birthday and am shattered now. He had a lovely time though and is now walking really well with his walker. Hope the poorly ones are on the mend and that everyone had a good week next week.

alkar · 02/03/2009 08:36

Glad DS enjoyed his birthday strawberry. Is he ok now? My DS got hot again last night put him to bed in just a pj top and windows open! I think it must have something to do with his teeth, his cheeks are bright red. I kept setting my alarm to go off every 2 hours in the night so I could go check his temperature, I'm so tired I want to go back to bed but British Gas are coming between 8 + 1 to service the boiler - bad timing. The health visitor wrote to me this weekend saying she wants to come and see me because Daniels was in hospital again the other week

Went to clarks and bought DS his first pair of shoes yesterday. The woman brought 3 pairs out in his size, he tried the 1st pair on and wouldn't even stand up then put the 2nd pair on (white trainers with flashing lights) and walked over to the mirror so we bought those

How are Abby and Harry doing now?

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 02/03/2009 09:26

Hi Alkar,

Thanks for asking Harry is fine now, gone back to pre-school thismorning, thanks goodness, he was running round like a mad man this am- far too much energy for a monday morning!!heehee-

Rosie is doing well with her Walking, keeps toddling off at will and then gets fed up and crawls again!!!!![

Strawberry- glad your DS has had a lovely bday- xxx

Mini- oh no- poor abby!!!!! And more to the point poor you!!!!!! its so awful isn't it, although having said that i am now glad my two have had the pox and its over with!!!!!

Taking DD for her MMR this am- so ia m guessing aniother rough night, Both DC's were up last night, aqnd i am totally Pissed Off today!

Weekend been terrible, DH and i have had a big fight and i am just so fed up, the reason we fought was DS, had a few accidents in his pants yesterday- (has been happening for a while and for no apparent reason!!!) whilst i was out grocery shopping it happened and DH decided to remove every toy from Harry's bedroom and went very OTT with the lecture he gave i could here him from the drive way on my return!!!!!- i told him when i got in i don't agree with what he has done and said i dont see how its gonna make his poo get in the toilet!!!! and world war 3 erupted!!!!!

i understand DH being cross its making us both mad but i just feel he went OTT,

anyway enough of my moaning, off to wallow til i take DD to docs!!!!
