rozzy - lol at the girlfriends who dont know it. yes, sling for a while hopefully. dd was getting v tetchy in travel system buggy and i was finding it too hard to push.

alkar you must be exhausted. hope you have had a chance to catch up on sleep tpday.

Hi Everyone, been staying at my mums since last week so havnt had a chance to come on.

Happy Birthday to all the LOs that i missed.

alker how is DS doing today? Reading your post brought back the horrible memories of Henleys seizures. It really is frightening (sp?). Has he been refered to a specialist? I too hate it when they put the illness down to a Viral Infection. Think its just another word for "havnt got a clue whats wrong with your LO but to affraid to admit it". Hope that he is starting to feel better.

I have another loo lover here . I dont know what it is about it but he loves it. Hes also got a thing about the loo brush too. Thank god its a brand new one that never gets used as its in the spare toilet.

lljkk · 19/02/2009 13:53

DS also has his own toilet brush (also never used, just kicks around for his entertainment!!) He attacked it while still in its packaging for months and finally got it out of the wrapper about a month ago.

ImSallyIHaventAClue · 19/02/2009 22:22

Hello everyone.

Had another bad day at work today.

Eventually got really fed up and just left early (lots of people away on half term anyway), airily waving goodbye to my coworkers, and went to pick up DS early from nursery. After that felt much better. Think it's just that I'm missing him loads. Wish I could go part time. But lucky to have job etc etc.

ljkk your thread titles are so funny - esp the one "Food tastes much better when I find it again two weeks after I first threw it on the floor" - this is SO TRUE. Caught DS eating goodness knows what earlier this evening. Tried to make him spit it out but he just thought it was that old "let's practice biting mum with my new teeth" game! Also found random bit of meat underneath the bathmat

alkar your tales of your DS fitting are so scary. Febrile convulsions I think they call them? Hope he is better now.

strawberrycornetto · 20/02/2009 11:54

Sally, hope your day is better today. Its hard isn't it when we do all feel lucky to have a job. I think employers are using it to get away with things that other times people wouldn't accept.

Lol at the toilet obsessions. DS is the same, especially at bath time when DD is sitting on it

Alkar, how's your DS? My DS is very well at the moment. He seems to have outgrown his milk allergy and his chest was also clear. Hopefully his medicine is working. He is now allergic to cats though, but that's not the end of the world,

alkar · 20/02/2009 19:06

Yuck at the random meat sally . I caught DS eating one of the cats realistic toy mice last week and the cat has a habit of bringing dead mice home so I'm just waiting to find DS chewing one

DS seems to be improving, he has been at nursery today and they haven't had to give him any calpol. I'm still going to put him to bed in just his pj's tonight though.

alkar · 20/02/2009 19:09

No referral fo DS missnat, they just said it was a febrile convulsion and may or may not happen again. What happened with Henley, I can't remember now?

Hi all - just a quick hello (and welcome back Jay'smaybenotfinished) Just to report that suddenly we have a proper toddler who is making his very unsteady way all over the house. Am so proud .

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 22/02/2009 21:17

well done Malcolm !!!!!how u all doing Gill?

missnatalie · 23/02/2009 11:28

alker Henley was having seizures due to a calcium and vitamin D deficency. Thats all been corrected now and hes been discharged from the hospital. I just need to make sure that he eats enough calcium and vid d rich foods and has his multi vitamins.

He his driving me absolutly insane at the moment. Im really not coping well. Hes constantly screaming, crying and refusing to eat. He is full of a cold, we both are but when hes offered biscuits etc he'll eat them no problem. Im not the one offering the biscuits is my mum and DPs mum. Ive told them not to as i dont want him to fill himself up on crap. Im kinda thinking that he'll eat proper food whe he's hungry.

I dont know how id cope with another baby let alone 2 babies of the same age. egg i dont know how you do it. Well Done!!

missnatalie · 23/02/2009 11:29

Well Done Malcolm xxxx

strawberrycornetto · 23/02/2009 12:34

Yay, well done Malcolm.

We had a good weekend, two birthday parties including DS's little friend (son of one of my best friends) who is 1 today. DS is 1 on Thursday, I can't believe where the time has gone.

What's everyone got on this week? I'm working today and tomorrow but then two days off, my usual day and then a days holiday for DS's birthday. I want to take him out somewhere but haven't decided where yet. My little man, so grown up!!

Heya, have been v busy in RL - nothing exciting just lots to do, also dh keeps hogging the computer (he has some exams soon) so i never get chance to get on. Hope all ok, have no time to catch up messages as have to take guinea pig to vet (that'll be fun with a toddler!) and then back to work later. Will try to catch up tomorrow

princessllama · 23/02/2009 20:56

hello have been lurking for a bit as never have time to read everything. alkar, i hope daniel is starting to make a steady recovery. as missnat said it makes you remember when you hear about something happening like that. i still have to remind myself that he'll be ok if i leave him, spend alot of time looking at the mobile if i'm away from ferdie.
swotty we too only use our brakes on the maclaren single or double if we're on the bus so don't panic unless you live on a hill.
so glad that everyone elses kids eat dodgy stuff off the floor and stick their hands in the loo. we have a rubber door stopper in the shape of a half flat mouse and it has been close to death by loo several times (including tonight).
jaysfinished-good to hear from you-how are you surviving? cannot begin to contemplate how much my life would fall apart if we had a third-but i think that's mostly as i don't seem to breed very easy babies.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 23/02/2009 21:33

hi ginger and princess, was begining to think everyone had deserted the few of us chatting!!!!!

spoke to Egg on Facebook earlier, they are all ok, Jacob been a bit poorly, but have been busy with family visiting as it was her DS1's birthday last week,

nothing new here, hope everyone is ok, xxxxx

swottybetty · 24/02/2009 11:06

hello all hows tricks?

jaysfinished - so much for the finished bit of your name . tyaca here, v nice to hear from you. yesterday was the anniversary of dd's due date and dh and i were just talking about how grumpy i was this time last year...

princess, take it all is ok with your test results. i kept thinking of you and jade goody (hah! bet thats the first time somone's said that to you.) whats happening with work for you now?

ginger - did you have a nice half term? poor dh, i expect his attention non stop on the holidays, but he has these piles of marking and i have to do my best not to strop. you are very brave having a guinea pig - small furry things like that terrify me.

how are you doing missnat? sorry to hear you've been having a tough time. i was struggling for a while during the snowed in week and i felt so useless (and having huge doubts about being able to look after second baby too.) felt quite low. its horrible when they're ill isnt it, hopefully the weather will get warmer soon and all our lo's bugs and colds will clear.

alkar - that is frustrating re the lack of referral. it does seem a bit off that you would only get that if it happens again. fingers crossed it never does. hope you're feeling ok and have had a chance to r&r with your family.

well done malcom we have been hothousing esther in anticipation of her b-day party. on a good day we can pull quite a few tricks out of the bag, but most of the time she just grabs her head and looks round expectantly. where's your head was the first thing she did and she now goes for head whenever she's asked anything. we were at MIL's the other day and i was chatting to nephew about the animals on his table mat. dd heard the word lion (we have been practicing roaring) and dd immediatley jumped into action .... and put hands on head and looked at all for praise.

strawb - do you know what you're doing for your ds's birthday? i hope you have a lovely day. our plans this week dont extend beyond boring boring housework plans with a bit of ryhmetime and wiggle jiggle thrown in

happy birthday daisy and seren xx bessie and bovril if you're out there, would be lovely to hear from you.

sarah - i think dd is going to have quite a bit of a temper on her too. the last three weeks at the music group we go to she has got really angry when the instruments have been put away. dh is delighted at the thought of his dd being wilful, but i feel like this is the beginning of the rubbish parenting .... she also gets v annoyed when i try to return things to older kids when she's grabbed them off them. its so dif isnt it? anyone any advice? at the moment, i am just trying to distract her away from situation while being decent to the other kids who are old enough to need apologising to...

sally how are you doing this week? have you got a holiday booked or anything else you can look forward to? i see the ingestion of huge amounts of carpet debris as the sign of resourcfulness and self sufficiency ...

Gill79 · 25/02/2009 09:56

Hello all - I have a day's holiday and Malc at nursery! Woo hoo.

Quick catch-up - MissNat - hope he gets through the difficult phase - there are days (yesterday was one) when my little angel refuses to swallow one mouthful of real food and will only eat biscuits and petit filous. He won't even eat toast at the moment (that is he chucks it on the floor, leaves a few hours to harden and then crawls round hoovering it up later on). On the subject of angelic behaviour we have a friend staying a couple of nights and last night Malcolm pooed on the carpet in her bedroom It was quite a messy one too......

Swotty I know what you mean about the head thing. The word "hat" and touching head is now used in all situations. BTW I feel veru useless a lot of the time. But we're not are we? It's just that we're too self-critical . You'll manage fine with two although I can imagine very daunting!

Walking going well - yesterday morning he walked into the bedroom door after not looking where he was going cause he was giving me a big aren-t-I-clever-mummy-look-at-me smile over his shoulder. PML.

Hello Egg -hope DS1's bday good.

Right off to dig out a patio! Already painted a wall this morning
