Happy birthday to all LOs with birthdays this weekend/week

Alkar, i don't know why it would take so long - do you think i should be worried? When he was in hospital last year it took so long for the results to come back we werent told them by the time we were discharged and I only got them when we saw paed last week - i know one lot clotted, Trouble is as a lay-person you never knnow the right questions to ask. I just took it as normal for that amount of time, i had no idea it could be quick - perhaps that's when she's next at the the clinic? I guess if they found anything awful they would call me?

He's picking up slowly, i sent him to nursey this morning and they said apart from cough and runny nose (do you think they were hinting - keep him away???) he was really happy today, seemed happy when i picked him up too.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 26/01/2009 17:21

glad toby is picking up, ginger-

leesmum i am Sarah!!!!!!!!!!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 26/01/2009 17:26

hahahahha bey you would neva have guessed!!!!lol

omy · 26/01/2009 17:30

Hey Lisa - I'm Abby!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MALCOLM!

Ginger - I hope Toby is getting better - sounds like her is!

We have a tooth!!! I thought it might never come - a little razor blade at the bottom - she's not quite sure what to do with it yet - bless!

And 4 STEPS today - she did it when she was holding a toy - it seemed to give her confidence - thought she was holding a chair!

Happy spring to everybody (I'm pretending it is spring!)

omy · 26/01/2009 17:31

HE is - sorry ginge!

gingermumi · 26/01/2009 18:48

omy....I am jane btw

alkar · 26/01/2009 19:06

I'm Alecea

Ginger - I think it will be that the paed will only lok at the results in a couple of weeks but they will have ben ready long before. I guess you would've heard straight away if there was anything bad.

Breaking news - Daniel took his first step yesterday, just one and not yet repeated but its going in his baby book

Hi Lisa! We are having friends and family over on sat for Daniels birthday then I've invited 6 of his baby friends over on sunday for a little baby party. Really looking forward to it.

Happy birthday malcolm

swottybetty · 26/01/2009 19:36

what an excellent question leesmum. i am kate, but spelt a silly one. if egg tells everyone her first name, we must all get her to tell us her dh's name too. on a very dull work afternoon years ago, we decided to play a whats your real name game in which we all decided what people should be called. i was rachel apparently, tho i see myself more as a george ...

preg going well. i have a hell of a lot of energy which is unheard of for me. i wonder if its a second trimester thing or a not-smoking thing which i missed last time cause was working so hard. it would be great if i felt like this always - so much is getting done. i'd defrosted and cleaned the freezer before taking dd to music this morning and i'm waiting for dh's shirts to dry a bit more so i can iron them

happy birthday malcom! wonderful pics - what a cracking set of big blue eyes

OP posts:
gingermumi · 26/01/2009 20:04

there's loads of ironing at my place swotty if you want to come over!!

Why the fascination with eggs dh's name? Is it really interesting?

Thanks alkar, i think you're probabaly right.

leesmum · 26/01/2009 20:32

Hi Abby, Alecea, Jane, Kate and of course Sarah!!!

I remember egg's name..it begins with a "C" but i'll let her tell you herself And as for my Dp's name, well it's really geeky and old fashioned and begins with a "R" if anyone fancies a guess

Ginger i think Alkar is right in that you would have probably heard sooner rather than later if there was anything to worry about x

Swotty i'm impressed with your burst of energy! but don't be overdoing it, don't forget to make the most of your time with your beautiful Esther before the other miniswotty arrives

Alkar well done to your Daniel on taking a step, he'll be dancing at his party before you know it!

And Omy...4 steps and a tooth!! you have had a good day, nothing that exciting here just ds2 doing lots of gurning and then laughing at himself

strawberrycornetto · 26/01/2009 20:39

Hi. I'm Jackie. Fuuny though, not sure if I can get my head around proper names!!!

Wow, very impressed with the walking babies. (Maybe , perhaps I should just enjoy the relative lack of carnage for now!) DS not ready for that yet, although I know he wishes he was. I guess it won't be long.

Swotty (should I say Kate?!) glad you are feeling well. I also have lots of spare housework if you are bored.

Omy (Lisa) congratulations on the tooth. Lots will probably come together now. DS has a top one right under the skin, keep expecting it to come through at any moment .

Ginger (Jane), glad Toby made it through the day at nursery, I really hope he's properly on the mend now.

rozzyraspberry · 27/01/2009 19:40

Hi everyone - dh and I have been vomitting so not been on for a few days! Ds1 and ds2 went back to school and nursery today but ds1 got sent home at 10.30 - he said he was fine this morning but started to feel sick again in class. I'll be glad once this is all over.

Glad all the birthdays are going well! I think it might be half-term here on ds3 birthday (must check!) so we might take the kids bowling or something (although I haven't actually asked for the day off work yet). Ds3 will be completely oblivious to the fact that its his birthday but the other 2 are quite excited.

We have booked our summer holiday - I needed something to look forward to after I went back to work.

I am Leigh btw

strawberrycornetto · 27/01/2009 20:06

Hello Leigh!!

Where are you going for your holiday?? I am obsessed with anything to do with the summer at the moment

swottybetty · 28/01/2009 09:36

lol - i am obsessed with summer too ... yesterday i was looking at a couple of dresses in sales thinking "oh yes, i can just imagine a skinny me floating around in the garden with new baby wearing that" .

rozzy - you feeling better now? my advice is to get on the scales for that super low post tummy bug weigh in.

how weird is this - today the HV is coming round for esther's eight month check up . flat not too much of a state but should really be hoovering not typing ... we have no toast so have just finished off a jar of quality street with my coffee. must harness sugar rush and put it to use.

leesmum · 28/01/2009 12:05

Hi swotty both my ds's had their 8 month checks at 11 months I've just took ds2 for his Hib booster and he couldn't have it because he's had chickenpox recently, on the plus side i got him weighed for the first time in 3 months and he's now just over 23lb the little chunkster I hope your sugar induced cleaning frenzy is going well!!

Hi rozzy, you are having it bad at your house eh? there's nothing worse than looking after sick children when you're ill as well xxx

Strawberry my ds2 isn't even close to walking but ds1 was the same, he waited till 15 months before walking. They must take after their lazy father

miniandme · 28/01/2009 13:08

Oooo we;ve booked our first holiday too,we're off to filey again ,we went last year when the twins were just a few months old but it will be so much better this year with them running around, cant wait we are off on 18th May so just a couple of weeks after the wedding, kinda late honeymoon with all the kids

swottybetty · 28/01/2009 19:48

how exciting booking holiday mini - where is filey?

leesmum - how is ds2 doing after his booster? it'll be MMR any moment now, wont it?

i'm having a boy guys . dh over the moon, i am happy but a teeny bit scared of cleaning a baby winkle .

OP posts:
leesmum · 28/01/2009 20:15

Oh swotty SO excited for you having a little man thats great news! Boys are big softybags xxxx It's not cleaning the widge you need to be worried about....it's the mahoosive wee's that go all over the place...including straight into their mouths, both mine have done this !

Ds2 is having his booster next week now because of the pox!

Mini i'm jealous of your holiday plans!

strawberrycornetto · 28/01/2009 20:26

Yay swotty, congratulations. I can thoroughly recommend a girl and then a boy. DS completely worships his big sister!! I agree with Leesmum about the wee think though!

We were supposed to have our 8 month check today too, but HV cancelled after all my cleaning . Somehow I felt I really had to have the house spotless and be a perfect mum/housewife for her!!

rozzyraspberry · 28/01/2009 20:53

Congratulations swotty - if you need any little boy related advice I have some experience!

Strawberry we're off to a place called Ribby Hall Village near Blackpool (ribbyhall.co.uk if anyone fancies a look). The place looks nice there's stuff to do on site as well as plenty in the surrounding area. Quite excited although its not until July. Obviously we had to go for a deluxe cottage as we're going for a week and those ones have a washing machine. Got our childrens tax credit rebate through from 2002 so thought we'd treat ourselves!

Leesmum yes we've had a pretty crap week with this sickness bug. I think everyone is picking up now though (fingers crossed).

When I was at work today dh sent me a photo of ds3 on top of ds2s toy garage - no idea what he was trying to do but he looked very pleased with himself.

I am not back to work until Tuesday.

strawberrycornetto · 28/01/2009 21:08

Sounds great Rozzy. My holiday is May/June but that also feels ages away.

Our sickly household continues. DD had infected eczema a fortnight ago. I had to take her back to the doctors to be checked again today and I mentioned I was a bit worried about her chest. Lo and hehold, she now has a chest infection and another set of antibiotics (she only finished the last ones on Saturday!) I have never had a chest infection and I am not aware of DH having one either. I thought they were unusual and serious. Am I wrong? We are seeing the consultant about DS's repeated pneumonia and bronchiolitis tomorrow so I guess I can ask him to explain it to me. Poor mini strawberries!!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 28/01/2009 21:35

Fantastic news Swotty- one of each is fab!!!!! i also agree about wee though, (mine got my awful hv three times(on sepertate days) i wonder if thats why we neva see her!!!!lol

hi everyone, talking of holiday DS told me at the weekend we are going on an aeroplane on holiday which of cource would be lovely, but dont know if the funds will strech!!!!!boohoo- dh is stillon 15% wage decrease til further notice but they will not drop his hours!!!!!!

hope everyone is well, i am full of cold again and dd very snotty but were good!!!

off for a shower and bed- had a rough shift at work, nite nite

swottybetty · 29/01/2009 08:55

ty everyone. really happy, we know for certain our boy name so he's now no longer known as peanut. leesemum, have you seen that advert where the man is trying to stop the boy weeing while he changes nappies??

strawb - that is bizarre re both of us having 8 month check same day. yes, i become frantic with cleaning, i'd even bought daffodils for the hall .... oh, your poor dc's - infected eczema sounds painful and i know what you mean about chest infections sounding serious. i dont know more about them tho'. hope all ok.

rozzy glad to hear you're all feeling a bit better now. re tax credits, i am scared to apply cause of chance of being overpaid - a rebate sounds fab.

BTW has anyone heard that thing about if you have a 8 - 10 yo then you may be entitiled to some cash??

sarah - sorry work was tough. hope your cold's got a bit better with a good nights sleep

Egg · 29/01/2009 10:07

Also a quickie as want to get this back on my threads, will be back for a monster long Eggy-style post later as have missed lots but just saw Betty's news YAY! Can't wait for little Terry to make his appearance now (well obviously can wait a few months, don't want him popping out this early).

DS1's keyworker at nursery just found out she is having a boy too - YAY! Boys are great (sorry Bec, you are great too).

Back later once babies have a sleep at lunch hopefully.
