Hello. Hope everyone is ok. DH is skiing and has left me on my own with the DCs. Coping so far!! Hoping all the little ones have a good night and are on the mend. Happy birthday James

Desperately trying to keep on mumsnet to avoid comfort/boredom eating. Am truly rubbish, luckily not much in the house to tempt me .

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 22/01/2009 21:28

oh not Sorry to here James has the pox, hope he feels better soon, we also have it here so am guessing my 2 will pick it up at some point,

WE have had a lovely day here, DS has has a fab 4th birthday and has been spoilt rotten but he has been very well behaced all day,

gingermumi · 23/01/2009 14:22

ds has croup again, this is the third time in 5 weeks. Took him to doc who wouldn't give him steroids as he has had two lots so recently, says we will have to see how he goes on (to be fair, he isn't as bad as last time but then again I don't want it to get like that either). Phoned paediatrician and left her a message to let her know he's ill again, perhaps they will get back to me with the blood resluts sooner? I am so exhausted with all this

strawberrycornetto · 23/01/2009 14:28

Ginger, poor you, you really have my sympathies. I hope they do manage to get you the blood results quickly and hopefully you get some reassusring news.

Is it just me, or does it feel like its been winter forever. I can't believe we are still in January.

miniandme · 23/01/2009 20:14

Yip Abby has another UTI,quite worrying as this is now her second one shes due to see consultant in April for results of scans etc.
We get married on the 24th April cant wait its so exciting !!!

Gill79 · 23/01/2009 23:27

Hello everyone - sorry to hear poor old Toby is poorly again. Hope you get reults in soon Ginger. Hope James is better soon too Leesmum, and Happy Birthday to the wee guy too!

Rozzy hope the sickness is over soon. What a lovely task dealing with sick bits is.

Malc has had diarrohea for 5 days It's been pretty bad and the last few days he's been really knocked out by it, really really lethargic and sleeping loads, kept falling asleep on the floor and on the sofa. Also had a bit of sickness bt didn't last long. Took him to the docs today but apparently he's fine Actually after another mammoth sleep today he does seem better this evening and much perkier. Just as well as big party for his birthday tomorrow! Am still having some terrible nappy experiences though - this morning when I went to get him up it had exploded out of his grobag . Early bath.

Hi all, James hasn't really been as bad as i thought, the scabs are starting to dry up a bit now so i put some calamile (effing hell i've forgotten how to spell) cream on him last night, it's better than the lotion but has 3 huge ones on the top of his head that are bugging him a bit

Aww Ginger poor Toby i hope the blood tests bring some answers for you xx

And Rozzy is your Ds2 any better, i too have had my share of scraping bits of sick up from all over the place, it's not nice i hope he recovers soon xx

Gill is your Malcom over his runs, lets hope he is back on fine form for his birthday party today, have a lovely time and get some photo's on of the birthday boy xxx

Beany i hope you and your family had a lovely day for Theo's 1st birthday xx

Hi Strawberry is does feel like a very long winter, we have been looking at flights for spain to go and see dp's mum and dad in May and i'm getting all excited about it!!! How are your two doing?xxx

Mini you sound very excited about your wedding, are your dc being bridesmaids and pageboys? i bet they're looking forward to it as much as you are xx

Sarah i'm glad Harry had a lovely birthday, 4 is a very interesting age has Rosie had any more teeth through? Take care hun xx

leesmum · 24/01/2009 15:02

Have just put pics on from James' 1st birthday.

alkar · 24/01/2009 18:40

What tests did toby have ginger? The majority should be ready now, we usually do paed samples urgently.

Another bout of sickness and diarrhoea for my DS too gill. He seems to be over it now but he's always ill.

Cute cute pics leesmum

rozzyraspberry · 24/01/2009 20:34

Happy birthday to Theo!!

Lovely piccies Leesmum. I like what you said about 4 being an interesting age. My ds2 has been having a few tantrums lately (since I went back to work actually) and I was commenting to a friend 'so much for terrible twos - 4 is worse' and she said she'd always called it the ffing fours because it's an 'interesting' age!!

Hope Malcolm is better soon Gill - that must be really wiping him out.

Ds2 is a bit better - not throwing up anymore but he still has a sore stomach and has no appetite. Ds1 was complaining of a sore stomach before he went to bed and has just thrown up all over his bed - cue more scraping undigested food off sheets for me - nearly brought my own dinner up. Dh is on a night shift tonight so I hope it's not a too unsettled night. Ds3 is ok so far but didn't eat much of his tea tonight - I hope he's not getting it too.

Oh and ds1 lost his first tooth tonight. I managed to knock it out when I was washing his face in the bath. It has been wobbly for a few weeks though and the tooth fairy will be leaving him a penny later. I'm not the gentlest of mummies.

You're very organised for your wedding mini - it'll be lovely with all your lo's there with you.

strawberrycornetto · 24/01/2009 20:34

Hello. Mini, bet you can't wait for your wedding. We got married in April, is a lovely time to get married I think

Leesmum, your pictures are gorgeous , glad James wasn't too unwell on his birtday! We are ok, DS a bit tetchy, I can see 4 top teeth all just under the skin Its put him off his milk but he's into food at the moment which is good.

Gill at the grobag explosion, yuck!! Hope your party has been great today, looking forward to hearing about it.

Hello Alkar and Sarah . Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I am on my own today but had a lovely day with my minis. I really do adore both of them!!!

gingermumi · 24/01/2009 21:46

Hope all poorly babies are better. Happy birthday Theo and malcolm

Alkar, am not sure of all tests but immunoglobin was mentioned and blood count, there was something else too but i can't remember what it was. One of them takes a while so she said she's call with all of them together in about 2 weeks. He hs been soooo sick today (with coughing). He's had 4 baths! Poor lamb, he loves baths though so that's some compensation for him!

Enjoy rest of weekend y'all

alkar · 25/01/2009 09:04

Ginger immunoglob and full blood count would be ready same day. 2 weeks is a long time to wait for any test really, its very rare that they take so long

alkar · 25/01/2009 09:05

How was the birthday party gill?

swottybetty · 25/01/2009 15:03

hello all! ginger you sound upbeat which is good. hope you've had ok weekend with toby.

leesmum james looks adorable and i love the grey and white sleep suit. a belated happy birthday to him

and happy birthday to leo too if bean still lurking this is when it started to get busy last year wasnt it? and when the london ladies met for lunch and booked under the name "weight-watchers" - gill's idea?

gill - urgghhh to diarrhea. oh for the illnesses where they just want cuddles and have normal nappies . hope you have had a nice day.

strawb - i feel so mean - i would never let dh go off skiing on his own! you are clearly a far nicer person than i am. there was a poster on this thread call slacker who has not been around for a while. her feb baby was her fifth and when he was about six weeks her dh went away skiing on own and i was in awe of her powers of coping . i feel like i am doing dh a huge favour by allowing him to compete in a run today ....

dd stirring, got to go hello to everyone xx

swottybetty · 25/01/2009 16:20

sorry bean - theo not leo.

OP posts:
Gill79 · 25/01/2009 19:47

Oh no- more sick for ginger and rozzy. Pleased to report Malc's nappies slowly getting less explosive and he's much better in himself as well.

Like the pics of baby James with all the enormous presents towering over him Leesmum!Hope the recovery continues.

Birthday party was fab! We had about 25 people, baby and non-baby, in the afternoon and evening, plenty to eat and drink, a big birthday cake with some champagne and it was all really really good fun. Malc was on great form and partied until 9.30! I'm feeling a bit woozy today though and been trying to rest up for the second party tomorrow (which is on his actual birthday) Have however been cooking all day .

A few new pics on the profile!

rozzyraspberry · 25/01/2009 20:08

Great pictures Gill - what a head of hair Malcolm has!! Hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow.

My lovely boys are still ill. Ds3 seems fine but ds1 has been really sick - hasn't kept anything down for 24 hours. Ds2 hasn't been sick since Thursday but is full of the cold now and went to bed at 6pm tonight. These bugs are horrible. They've not been ill for ages and I'm gutted that I have to go off to work tomorrow and leave them (I think dh is a bit gutted about that too since he'll have to deal with it!).

Hope everyone is well!

strawberrycornetto · 25/01/2009 21:13

Hope everyone has had a good Sunday.Happy birthday to Malcolm for tomorrow, hope you enjoy tomorrow too Gill. Gorgeous photos Your party sounds fab. I was just eyeing up a bottle of champagne left over from New Year in our fridge and thinking I might open it to celebrate DS's birthday. We are still a month away, but he's 11 months tomorrow.

Swotty, I think I'm nice. DH thinks I am unreasonable because I let him go for part but not all of the trip because I said he had to spend one day of the weekend with his DCs!!

Rozzy and Ginger, hope your little ones are a bit better this evening. DS seems ok, but his preventative antibiotics haven't cleared his chest which is still very wheezy(presumably its a virus) and they finish today, so I hope he stays well. Ginger, let us know what the doctors say when you get your results. I know how you feel so I really hope you get reassurance when the results are back. Being on here and seeing how many of our DC are unwell has made me feel better in a funny kind of way, because I can see that its really comment, we are all in different places in the country etc and yet we all seem to be suffering the same things. Not much consolation for our LOs but it does make me feel it might just be one of those things, not anything sinister.

MERLYPUSS · 25/01/2009 22:39

Hellooo ladies. Just checking in. A week to go til the big day. No idea what to do for them so far. Invited immediate family for jelly and cake. Might take them to the park to feed ducks on the Sunday if the weather is ok. DT1 is obsessed with pidgeons so I figure he would like ducks too (even though he had a melt down when he saw a flock of geese).
Sny one got any better ideas?

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 26/01/2009 10:07

Hi everyone, we have had a nectic weekend, DS's birthday party was a huge sucess, most people turned up so that was good and

bbl

leesmum · 26/01/2009 10:47

Hi Sarah i'm glad you all had a lovely time at Harry's birthday party, and my James also likes to use me to teeth on!

Merly i bet you are looking forward to the Dt's 1st birthday, a walk in the park to feed the ducks sounds great providing it's dry! we took James out to tea for his day and let him have ice dream and cake, there isn't an awful lot you can do with 1yr olds cos they dont understand whats going on and some babies don't like a lot of fuss.

Strawberry i hope your Ds medicine stars kicking in quickly, it must be very frustrating for you, i must admit that this very cold winter hasn't helped all our lo's lets hope we get a nice long summer to make up for it

Rozzy poor you having all 3 boys being ill, are they any better today? i hope so xx your washing machine must be on continuously did you go in today or have you left them with their daddy xx

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MALCOLM xxx have a great day Gill Beautiful pictures btw xx

Swotty how's the pregnancy going, i hope you are looking after yourself, when's your next scan? do you have any preferences to boy or girl or dont you mind?

Alkar what are you doing for Daniels birthday on Sat? i can't believe how quickly they're first year has gone, and James is still no where near walking!! or even cruising, i think he will be late just like his brother!

strawberrycornetto · 26/01/2009 11:22

Hello. Happy birthday Malcolm.

Merly, feeding the ducks sounds lovely, hope you get good weather. For DD's 1st birthday we took her to the London acquarium which was fun. Haven't decided what to do for DS yet, we've got another month to go. I've booked a day off work though. Am trying to decide whether to have a special 1 - 1 day with him or whether to take his sister along too. Any thoughts?? I think I probably will take her because he loves her so much!!

Leesmum, like your theory about summer. That would be lovely (although I know I'll be sad that I'm not on maternity leave this year ).

Sarah, glad your party went well.

leesmum · 26/01/2009 16:25
