Happy Birthday Sarah!

Ginger - my MIL is convinced Malc says "bath" when he's in the bath. She says it sounds like "baaaa" but that is mostly the only thing he says.... baa! baa! baa! bwwwaaaaa!

I am at work again!

princessllama · 15/01/2009 12:43

happy birthday sarah.
lijk-i remember when i had worms as a kid age 5 and the whole family had to have vile medicine. i can still remember standing on the kitchen table wailing and refusing to get down and drink it. grim. poor you. hope ds doesn't have to have it.
alkar hope ds perks up soon. ferdie's lips are looking a bit blue today but no temp so i think we're going to be ok.
ginger-yet another g and t baby! ds generally just smiles but yesterday said 'gideon' - it's the stupid name of our cat which was meant to be a funny joke but not such a funny name now. i think it was a one off-dh didn't believe me when i told him. especially as he can only really say mama and dadda.
very proud moment today when ds managed to hold on to his toy and not give in when dd tried to pull it off him.
rozzy dd always confirms bad behaviour when asked.
swotty-have left message for consultant re results-thank you for good idea. i should post on health board but feel a bit too sheepish. hope i didn't sound snotty gill when said i didn't think it was same one. didn't mean to be.
leesmum how is work going?

lljkk · 15/01/2009 12:50

Rozzy, the idea of worms makes my skin crawl, too (actually, it makes me want to run around the room screaming, but I don't have the energy for that ).

I was trying to be funny, ginger, don't feel bad for laughing, how else am I supposed to cope with the blighters if I can't joke about them.

Truth be told, I have been getting very down (just totally overwhelmed). I'm going to try to make myself do 3 things (need to write them down so that I do them!!):

  • buy DC hot dinners rather than packed lunches made by me, for most the week until at least 1/2 term (just to give myself a break!!).

  • get a cleaner, in twice a week, if possible

  • put DS4 in creche for one morning/week.

There are problems with all of these, expense, baby will cry which will tear my heart up, etc., but something has to give!!
Hey, at least me employing a cleaner will mean employment for someone, right? Good idea in current economic climate, so a socially responsible thing to do, eh?

swottybetty · 15/01/2009 15:49

dd is sitting in her high chair next to me with her head in a box. she is screeching, she has not slept all day and i am willing DH to sprint home from work. so unfair on him - i can hear the last bell go at ten to four and then i start expecting him. six min to go....

lljkk sorry to hear you feel overwhelmed. yes - cleaner sounds like a fab way to help kick start the economy... and to give yourself a break too of course. the idea of four kids makes me bow down in wonder. dd has one day without a nap and i consider giving the second one away to any competant looking stranger.

happy bday sarah. hope you have a lovely day.

princess -- we dont even have the words mama and dada yet. let alone gideon. she is still screeching now she is so tired she keeps on resting her head on the table. darn baby. i thinks she is getting some teeth maybe.

whats the tooth count for everyone? we are still only on two.

missnatalie · 15/01/2009 16:11

Hi Everyone

lljkk i agree with the others. Hiring a cleaner sounds like a good idea.

Hope your having a fab birthday sarah

MIL is driving me insane again . She starting refering to herself as "mummy" again whilst talking to Henley. DP heared her this time and had a right go at her (he thought that i was imagining hearing it in the past). She denied it of course and said she was talking to her DD who is 12 i dont think so. MIL also tried to give him chocolate and when i told her not to she pulled her face and took him to the other end of the room. Henley then starting wrigling for her to put him down and MIL came out with "has he got worms or a itchy bum?" I ended up sreacing at her that he hasnt got a itcy bum, he just wanted to be put down!! Aaarrggghh she drives me potty!!

How are the LOs going with feeding. Ive put Henley on the sage 3 (from 10 month) jars and he hates them. He sucks all the juices and then spits the lumps out. Is anyone else having this problem.

It will be his 1st birthday 4w yesterday. Were not having a party as there are no babies in the family here in Wolverhampton. All cousins etc live in Manchester. Plus Henley wont understand and it will be more for the others. Instead DP is taking the day off work and were hopefully going to chester zoo as he loves animals. Just hope the weather is ok. Dont mind the cold but the rain would ruin the day. On the saturday were going to take him to Water World in Stoke as he loves swimming and theres a whole area for babies. He'll love it.

ginger Henley is just the same as your LO. Whenever he hears music, he stops what hes doing and starts dancing. He loves dance music and especially the ClubLand channel on Sky. I agree the damcing looks very cute .

missnatalie · 15/01/2009 17:51

Hi Lulumama, was wondering how you were doing. Im sure that i read on here somewhere that you've had another LO. Hope you are ok xx

princessllama · 15/01/2009 19:15

lijk-i think you're brilliant for working out a survival plan rather than sinking. i am pushed to my limit with 2 and i get 2 afternoons off and a cleaner.
missnat-i am still very close to strangliing mil after christmas nightmare where she spent a week interfering with what dd was eating. her calling dc's mummy would send me into orbit. i'm currently trying to come up with a reason why she can't come and stay next week.
swotty we're on 2 teeth too. dh and i are meant to be opening a bottle of champagne now that dd has finally reached a full set.

miniandme · 15/01/2009 20:25

All these mil stories im sooo glad i dont have one lol DP doesnt speak to his mum after years of upset and i dont speak to mines either due to past personal nightmares.
We are a dentists dream here with jack having 9 teeth (4 top,4 bottom and 1 molar) and number 10 almost in,Abby has 6 (4 top and 2 teeny ones on the bottom) you forget just how teeny tiny their brand new teeth are eh!!

rozzyraspberry · 15/01/2009 21:33

Happy birthday Sarah!

And happy birthday to you Leesmum tomorrow!

Lljkk - cleaner sounds bliss - can't really justify the expense though because I've spotted a holiday I want us to go on this year and am saving all our spare pennies.

princessllama · 16/01/2009 08:13

oh god. dd says her bottom is itchy. she's really itching it this am. thought she'd been doing it last few days a bit because she's doing potty training. lijk -could this be worms with just the itching? how does the medicine work? am off to chemist.

Lulumama · 16/01/2009 08:36

i am fine thanks, busy supporting other women having their babies, but no more for me !

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 16/01/2009 10:19

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEES MUM!!!! HOPE YOU HAVE A FAB DAY

HI EVERYONE,

swotty DD has 4 top and 3 bottom teeth (5 of which have appeared since xmas) she is really having a bit of trouble with them and not sleeping too great either,

i had a fab birthday and thanks for all your wishes to me!!!

dh has been told he has to take a 15% pay cut due to the credit crunch it will take effect on jan 26th, so were not too happy atm, he works within the construction industry as a mechanic, he is self employed so don't really know how they can take his money surely he should just work less hours??? i am going to look into it, if dh works less hours i could go to work earlier i know my wage is not as high as his but every little helps as they say!!!! boo hoo, i am even working on sunday night to add a little on, i thnks alot of peopleare really gonna feel this receeion, (being only 25(as you all said) i dont remeber the last one!!!!)

my friends DS shares his birthday with harry - they will both be 4 next thurs, anyhow we arranged to do their parties- hers this weekend and ours is next sat, (they go to the same preschool and share the same friends so its easier) well yesterday he got the chicken pox and they have had to cancel his party, i feel so sorry for the poor lad, (and am also praying that ds does not get it as i really would not want to cancel his party too- its gonna spread like wild fire thru pre school i think!!!!

gotta go as tyou are probably all BORED TO DEATH!!!!!

Egg · 16/01/2009 12:39

OOOPS. Happy birthday yesterday to Sarah and today for leesmum! I remember now leesmum you suggesting 16 Jan as being a good day for me to have my twins as you and your twin were born on 16 Jan! I couldn't wait tho...

Threadworms do not sound like fun. I am having enough "fun" each day changing in excess of 10 poo nappies a day between the three of them (yes DS1 still in nappies) without worms as well.

DTs actually have bad tummies at the mo so nappies are even worse. Ugh. DD been sick twice today. DS2 was sick on Weds.

lljkk I keep saying we will get a cleaner once a week so that I dont spend my entire day without DC cleaning and tidying. But tbh the cleaning itself takes 2 hours or less, it is the general tidying and sorting that takes me forever (plus the washing etc) which the cleaner would not do anyway.

Missnat I am actually cooking for my DTs (this is shock for me, as I am a v lazy cook, but it is the only way they seem to keep their food down) but DS1 was having jars at this age sometimes and he always hated the Stage 3 ones and would refuse them or spit the bits out (was fine with eating things like sausages though...). I just kept him on the younger ones if he had jars, but he was gradually phasing them out by age 1.

Going to post this and reply to rest later as DS1 is about to break DVD player...

princessllama · 16/01/2009 12:58

phew! false alarm-its fleas not worms-hurrah! looked at dd's bottom and saw a flea bite mark. much easier to deal with. i know why it's there too, as the cats love sleeping on the changing mat. we are having a flea battle. the cats have even been given an injection that is the equivalent of a contraceptive pill for fleas!
egg-never ending poo. bring on the weekend and hope you get some help. i think you should keep ds in nappies-dd has just drowned herself in pee at the post depo whilst having a 20 minute tantrum and she stepped in a poo that rolled out of her knickers yesterday. egg the cleaner can do the washing and sorting into drawers etc. at least the piles of things that need doing are tidier when they've been. and they can crawl around and clean under/over high chair once a week instead of you
happy birthday leesmum
sarah-i think you're right that it sounds wrong that they can cut his pay like that. hope you are right.

miniandme · 16/01/2009 16:28

Egg get probiotics for the twins it really helps with dicky tummies,it helps rebalance the gut so settles the pooey nappies.Jack has a lot of troubles with his gut and we often put him on them which settles him no end, they come in little sachets which you add to juice or cold food like yoghurts etc.
I would lurve a cleaner but to be honest not sure how much good it would do us as 10 minutes after she had gone we'd be back to square one with 5 kids in a 3 bed house you can just imagine !!!

rivergoddess · 16/01/2009 16:48

hi ladies and all the gorgeous lo.
been reading about you all. i know i can't catch up with all your news and wonderful birthdays but i will try. its great to be back.
remember me RUVA- changed it as i thought i was having a girl which means flower so now since i have sebastian (saba) its highly apprp that i change.

Egg · 16/01/2009 18:03

Hello ruva/rivergoddess! Welcome back. We were just saying that we have lost so many of our gang by the wayside so lovely to see you back. I love the name Sebastian .

Mini thanks for that tip, I was literally just wondering about probiotics today as DS1 never had upset tummies but DTs get them quite a lot. What is the brand you use so I can google and get some.

gingermumi · 16/01/2009 18:08

Welcome back Rivergoddess, love the name.

Happy birthday all mummies and babies.

Am at work (it's parent's evening) and ds back at docs again with dh. Conjunctivitis he's had for last 10 days wont go away and they wont give him anything else without seeing him. He also has upset tummy. I have told dh that he has to tell them we are fed up with being fobbed off and now we're really worried about him. It's just one thing after another

Have to go and say nice things now... yay what a way to spend a friday night!

gingermumi · 16/01/2009 18:09

ooh egg let me know where you get them from please hun!

Egg · 16/01/2009 19:11

ginger . Poor Toby.

rozzyraspberry · 16/01/2009 19:57

Sorry about dhs pay cut Sarah - not sure about the legalities of it - unfortunately I think this sort of thing will probably become more common over the next few years. When ds2 went back to nursery after christmas we found out that 5 of them had had it over the break! I hope it doesn't affect your dss birthday.

Hope your lo's are feeling better egg. Poor Toby ginger - hope the doctors can sort him out.

Welcome back rivergoddess - how is sebastian doing?

I agree with you egg - it really doesn't take me long to do the cleaning - I spend far more time cooking, doing washing and generally tidying up. What I really need is a full-time housekeeper/nanny.

WAHEY ITS THE WEEKEND!!!!

rozzyraspberry · 16/01/2009 19:58

'5 of them had had the chicken pox' that should read!

miniandme · 17/01/2009 11:33

The probiotics we use for jack are called probiostart probiotic and prebiotic they are made by dtectaprobiotics.
Our house is a major hive of excitment as anothe rwhole load of wedding gear arrived yesterday including the boys matching suits, you can imagine the cuteness as the boys are 1,10 and 13 and all in matching suits, jacks is sooo teeny!!

alkar · 17/01/2009 18:32

Happy birthday for yesterday leesmum, what did you do?

Sorry about your probs with DH sarah, hope you are right about the pay cut. We were told in a team brief that 'in these uncertain times jobs in the NHS are safe and we should think ourselves lucky to have a job' so you should be ok
