Gosh ladies I almost feel left out, not having had a severely ill baby recently (and obviously, long may that state of affairs continue).
I do need to vent a little, though, I am not seeking advice, just need to blather it out!!
DS4's head is covered with bruises, the pitfall of walking early, the head is still so big and the world so full of hard surfaces and sharp corners. When you only have onechild you can keep such a close eye on them, but with many, they bump each other and interfere with the toddler, and need attention themselves -- drawing me away out of the room, so poor baby is always crashing into things (sigh).
Although we've kept out of hospital, we've all been ill over the holidays, me with chills and sore throat. I'm ok(ish) now, but baby is still waking up for 3 feeds/night, which rather SUCKS big time. I don't want to nightwean yet, because (ime) it will mean breastfeeding finishing entirely. I want to wait until about 18 months... that will be bliss!!! Since he cut 2 top teeth breastfeeding is uncomfy, too (blech).
On the plus side, baby is just so CUTE. Dancing any time music comes on, happily exploring the world, getting attached to random objects, not egotisical enough (yet) to throw a major strop -- like when locked out of certain rooms. He plays certain games, especially chase and peek-a-boo and wrestling, quite eagerly. Great laugh. I forgot how cute they are at this age.
Which makes up for what a kamikaze suicide pilot I know that he will be for the next 10 months or so (the worst is around 16m old, for those of you wondering). The phase when you really do need eyes in back of your head, etc. I'm not looking forward to it!
Is anybody's baby talking/saying in words, yet? Mine will probably the last to reach that milestone, btw.
