'Lo all - stupid 'puter been on the blink for a bit so no MN. Have tried to catch up but sooooo many.

Hope all well though - things OK here - Mol still very up and down at night. When will she sleep through........I'm so tired. Every time I think she is starting to she stops [sighs wearily]

Never mind. She is lovely in all other ways.

Welcome HipHopALady

Hugs to PFJ - how are you today?

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 19:01

Do you know why she stops? Or is it just random? Do you ignore her, pat, what? Just wondering how to help! Glad you are well besides that though

Everyone else ok?

Have been thinking of you pfj xx

HopHopALady · 15/11/2008 19:20

Just blame everything on teething. That's what I do. DD is usually a 7 til 7 girl but lately she's been up at 5 and 6. Just spotted a little blood blister on her gum so think she's got another tooth on the way.

HipHopALady... that sounds much better! Should have used that instead of HopHop. It's because of some children's song about riding a horse, which I've got in my head the whole time at the moment.

EllieG · 15/11/2008 19:49

I read you wrong there hophop! It's obviously cos my finger is so firmly on the zeitgeist button thing that I assumed was hiphop. Oh I'm so cool, me.

Scorpio - I do not now feed her at night cos she was taking about half an oz, and I figured she was waking up out of habit when didn't need. She doesn't want grub, though she has had a cold and does want a drink of water on occasion. I am super-business-like, very little eye contact, no chatting, comforting but not cuddly or playful, attend to needs and put down etc, but she still wakes. Is OK when puts herself back to sleep, I don't mind getting up to give her a quick drink of water and back to sleep, but sometimes (and to be fair not as often as used to) she wakes up properly and then will be up for 2 hours til she needs to sleep again. I leave her til unhappy and then do PUPD, but is tiring. Can't think of what else to do really, DH says let her cry it out, but wouldn't make her settle quicker, as half the time she is perfectly happy, just awake. I leave her for ages just noodling away chatting to herself. Last night was only an hour though, and she went back to sleep without crying though, so an improvement.

One useful tip picked up from babywhisperer book - she started regularly waking at 5, but not hungry. She said to set alarm an hour earlier than that for 3 nights, and just rouse her to a semiconscious state to re-set her sleep pattern. Did this and really worked. She went back to sleep in minutes at 4 and didn't wake til 7.

When I think that I have only had 2 nights unbroken sleep in nearly 7 months it does make me want to cry though....

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 19:51

That all sounds really good Ellie, just a case of repeating everything you are doing, it will happen. Mimi goes through phases too - this last 2-3 weeks she has been 12 hour sleeping, but before that we went through a twice a night phase again. I find it so easy to just whip boob out when she wakes, that i think it almost encourages her! !

Mimi still has no teeth....do i win??

She is really loving her food though, loads and loads. porridge a firm fave at mo.

EllieG · 15/11/2008 19:53

DH is putting her to bed tonight - I can hear her crying

But am consoling myself with a big fat glass of vino hurrah

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 19:54

sounds good! We had more wine last night....

EllieG · 15/11/2008 19:55

Mol has 2 teeth now [smug mummy emoticon]

She is also bog fan of porridge. And smoked fish (though obviously not too much). And spinach.
In fact, will eat most things if put spinach.

EllieG · 15/11/2008 19:55

How's you anyway?

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 19:56

Mimi loves meat...like mince beef and roast chicken bits also cheese on toast

she is so cute.

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 19:57

I'm good thankyou....doing quite well. Me & DH are more or less normal, i mean i feel normal, he is really keeping up his deal too. I'm going back to uni in a few weeks...eek.

EllieG · 15/11/2008 20:01

OOo guess what? I have some freelancing to do! Am SO excited at prospect of using brain for first time in 7 months! One of the managers rung me on fri to ask if I could do a report on wishes/feelings of children in a court custody thing. Will be great as means just have to see kids and not make recommendations on contact or whatever, which is unpleasant and everyone hates you.

Will help any time, though may be rusty. Will be good for you going back to uni (sorry if sounded patronising). Glad you and DH are getting things back to normal. Takes a brave person to sort stuff out, and for what it's worth, I really respect you for that.

EllieG · 15/11/2008 20:02

Ah just peeked at Mimi photos - she is getting so big and is so pretty bless her - looks really like you now I think

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 20:05

i think she looks like dh! Newer pics on FB tbh.

I think it will be good too, want to find my brain again and having an outside thing is good.

Yes, me and dh have been ok, but sometimes i remember it again iyswim and hate him still!

I'm 24 on thursday arrrggghhh

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 20:06

Work thing very good extra pocket money always helps!!

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 20:07

you should spend it on a trip to cornwall!

EllieG · 15/11/2008 20:16

I would love to come to Cornwall, have never been, always mean to though. We were actually thinking of for next summer - if do can meet up! Am defo going to London for weekend in April/May, though I understand that is some distance from Cornwall.

Hum.

I feel OLD. And you have achieved waaaaay more than me in less time. Though I have had a divorce, which took up some years, and you haven't had one of those, so I am ahead in some things

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 20:23

oh yes Ellie you win lol. Deffo meet up if you come to Cornwall, be so much fun! London not so hard for me, DH jumps at any opportunity!

I feel very old indeed! dh got me some nice boots, jeans and make-up for my bday and we are hoping to go out to french eaterie next weekend.

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 20:24

We should house swap for 'free' holiday next year!

EllieG · 15/11/2008 20:31

We should! Actually, that ain't such a bad idea. Should start a thread on house swaps and get free holidays all over the country....

Good present from DH. I am currently hinting heavily about nice things for xmas as bless him, DH is rubbish at presents by himself.

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 20:32

i used to email links to dh but then he would get it right!!

EllieG · 15/11/2008 20:36

I am going to make an amazon wishlist I think.

I want to go to Cornwall now. Will I meet Rick Stein?

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 20:38

oh yes Ellie i'm sure, LOL

My parents have been to his restaurant, very good apparently. is a way away from me though, i am at very bottom indeed!

EllieG · 15/11/2008 20:39

Am not coming if can't meet Rick Stein. And he has to make me a fish supper.

scorpio1 · 15/11/2008 20:42
