hi all from sunny (boiling hot!) south africa! got sand everywhere and the g 'n ts taste sooo much better here! going to be hard to come back to the cold. (but suppose i dont ave to worry just yet as have another month here! tee hee!)

scorpio- i did kick bocking and loved it!!!! got up to my orange belt but then got punched in the nose a few times by the tomboys...so quit. regret it though as loved it! so go for it! very jealous of the 7.30 wake up. my ds does 6.15- 5.20 on the dot. how did you get her to stretch to 7.30!!!!

think i am also going to get onto the TTC wagon! Had my first AF since stopping breastfeeding and think i am ready for no 2! eeekkkk!(pity i am with the folks for the next month though! so maybe in the new year!)

hope all is well with all. happy shopping

scorpio1 · 15/12/2008 16:43

she just naturally did it...she has always been good at sleeping anyway, bless her.

scorpio1 · 15/12/2008 16:45

oh and yay about ttc!

LittleRascal · 15/12/2008 16:58

am jealous! go mimi!!!

ThePFJInASleigh · 15/12/2008 17:47

Good luck with ttc LittleRascal!

Hearing about you people having your babies asleep by 6/7:30 at night.... I settle jack down by 8/9:30 and he sleeps through until 8/9am in the morning. Is it bad of me to have him going to sleep later in the evenings? I know its not a problem now but will it be a problem later on?
Should I try to get him to bed tonight by 7pm and pop the monitor on?

Think I may give it a whirl.

scorpio1 · 15/12/2008 19:06

you should do it 10 or so minutes earlier night by night IMHO

ThePFJInASleigh · 15/12/2008 19:09

Oh and Scorpio, since your DH is into Thai boxing thought it might interest you to know my DP is a Kenjutsu (Japanese sword) instructor/master, he trained in Japan. Looks like us Cornish MNers love the men into their martial arts and such!

scorpio1 · 15/12/2008 19:10

Wow, soooo cool. I will tell DH later. DH is going to Thailand to train for 2 weeks next year.

ThePFJInASleigh · 15/12/2008 19:10

Thanks Scorpio, will try that, sounds like a ploy and a half.

ThePFJInASleigh · 15/12/2008 19:12

Wow! Your DH will love Thailand. He is so lucky!

scorpio1 · 15/12/2008 19:16

they only pay for flights, well they do pay for accomodation but as the club go often they know people so its only literally £5 p/day....and training is £7.50 a week out there....DH will come home with 50 more tattoos i bet, lol.

He wanted to go last year but i was 35 weeks pg, and said no.

scorpio1 · 15/12/2008 19:17

I have always liked the children to go bed around 7, as you get adult time, and it starts them off in a good way for school etc, eventually. Plus fits well in this house, with dinner, bath, bed routine.

ThePFJInASleigh · 15/12/2008 19:17

Oh yeah... my DP used to teach sword for movie actors for a short time, he once took Kenneth Branner for a lesson or two before he did the movie Hamlet.
And thats his claim to fame anyways!

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 15/12/2008 19:30

Hi all

Been at Paediatric unit all day; Harry got a final DX of PDD (pervasive evelopmental delay) with autism. Knew it of copurse but just starting to hit a little- whilst DH is out oh well.

At elast MIL's visit you lot.... Mum mentioned MIL sent her a card a week ago, we've had nowt! MIL doesn't even like Mum- last time they all met dad made a massive effort to cheer her up, she comlained afterwards that Dad is common

Getting my last Christmas shopping doen tomorrow- should cheer me uP! Kids stuff well finished, but need vouchers etc for parents / Grandad. And sister ahs decided t have a party boxing day so that sounds good

ThePFJInASleigh · 15/12/2008 19:36

Hi Peachy. Big hugs about Harry.

ThePFJInASleigh · 15/12/2008 20:24

Woohoo... DP's family just delivered their presents to us... Our tree is stuffed full now! I get so excited at Christmas after all the shopping stress is over.... I am so soppy.. of course though, most of the pressies are for Jack. I think our LO's are just the right age to enjoy their first Christmas don't you think? Just old enough to start learning, noticing, crawling and grabbing everything to really get into the presents and look at the Christmas lights.

You know, I don't actually care whats in all the presents, they could be individual teatowels and socks in huge boxes for all I care.. I just love seeing em all under the tree!

gemprincess · 15/12/2008 21:21

Ashton is my very special little man who never stops amazing me and i just hope everyone else sees it too.
As for xmas, i have so much to do and cant take the kids anywhere near a shop, Lets hope these spots get on there way soon.Think i may just have to live on wine and chocolates before startin a dreaded diet in january.. Anyway Merry christmas to you all and a very special happy first xmas to all the babies... x

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 15/12/2008 21:55

Nice to see you again gemprincess.

I'm going to rant. A lot, and probably not be too PC about it so forgive me in advance pleeease

My fucking neighbours, again... It was DS1 and their twin DD/DS's nativity play last friday. They don't work, and were not there. I found out from DS1 that they didn't even send any costume in for their DTs (they are only 5 )
Anyway, I was angry at them and I stupidly looked up on entitledto just how much money they are raking in each year in benefits.....£21k. and it pissed me off highly.
I then put their address into google, just bny chance to find out they are running a HUGE internet business from home (this is NOT the money they are living off as I was explicitly told they were on benefits because the wife has PND).
I don't begrudge anyone benefits, the benefit system is on of the main reasons I refuse to vote tory incase they scrap it and people who need it are left in shtuck but this is taking the piss.
Then on top of that they have a car parked outside their house which comes and goes (I haven't seen it driven though) which has no fucking insurance. ARGHHHHHHHH.
They're scumbags, they really are and it makes me SO angry.

I had to get that out!

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 15/12/2008 21:56

And peachy. We've only seen the tip of the iceburg with Ella and I found that really tough. xxx

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 15/12/2008 22:04

Thanks guys. The boys are not impresssed with me for being snapy tonight but it did have to be on a night dh was out didn't it? And of course 10 days before Christmas..... ds1's was 2 dys before my birthday a few years back, reckon they schedule it?

ThePFJInASleigh · 15/12/2008 22:04

VS if you hate them that much report em....

Ooooo Devilish I know... but...

Well maybe the kids would suffer if you did...

Tempting though.

I thought my neighbours were bad.. they cook with really strong spices and stink out my house every afternoon. It must seep in through the wall because I smell it strongest in my living room. Today I think her next door was cooking with nutmeg cos it stank of POT all day. Really strongly. Nice for me and baby huh?

You win for horrible neighbours VS.

SalLikesEggnogUnderMistletoe · 15/12/2008 22:08

Peachy, sorry to hear you're having a tough time.

Here we're struggling a bit with R's milk, I'm rather tired. Oh well, will survive. At least it's almost Christmas, although I don't feel Christmassy at all. Don't know what it is with me - probably a good kick up the backside will do me the world of good.

Nice to read some cheerful posts on here too though - Scorpio, you're my Christmas cheer of the moment

SalLikesEggnogUnderMistletoe · 15/12/2008 22:10

Oh, and VS, I'd report it. They are probably taking money away from families that might really need it - there is only so much money available in the budget.

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 15/12/2008 22:12

Agree about reporting them VS- apparently there's a huge shortage of cash in the system and record numbers of people are being turned down for emergency loan benefits.

Besides, DH is registered for his ebay business; so should they be.

ThePFJInASleigh · 15/12/2008 22:21

Peachy is right. You can do it anon. They'd never know....
