thread where police wives are sought

SalLikesEggnogUnderMistletoe · 11/12/2008 21:31

Problem really is that a lot of my husband's meetings are scheduled to start after 5 (to enable participation by US), so it would be quite difficult for him to leave so early. And I'm not sure whether they'd be keen on me to "manage" and not be there, as I'm supposed to help the team if any problems too. Urgh! Will try and speak to the Finance Director tomorrow. I'd be rather sad to leave there, it's lovely people.

JingleBellsDennySmells · 11/12/2008 21:50

Could you start earlier instead? Hope you can have a chat with your manager and find a middle ground.

Im going to go to bed I think I feel really achy from that tumble earlier, so night folks.

Good luck with the dilema Sal. x

SalLikesEggnogUnderMistletoe · 11/12/2008 22:03

Good idea Denny, I'm off to bed now too. If they'd be open to me leaving earlier, I can always make up the time during lunch (to be honest I mostly work through anyway as I get bored walking through the streets!), so might work anyway.

Night everybody!

EllieG · 12/12/2008 09:12

'Lo all

All OK here - after docs telling us gran had had a stroke in her brain stem and was on way out and only a matter of time etc etc, she woke up the next day and looked out window saying 'Isn't it a lovely day?'

Is better now - woman has constitution of a rhino clearly

Me and Mol have both had tummy bugs last couple of days though, which has been yukky, and meant a few bad nights, but hopefully back on track now. Poor old thing, she gets every bug around, is probably cos i didn't breast feed for long enough.

Anyone thinking of ttc - you are mad. Mad.
One is enough for me and DH says he's too old to have any more and he'll be having babies til he's a hundred at this rate. Plus we have no money and can't afford anymore.

Anyway, she's making a poo face so must go investigate. Will try to catch up on the thread later x

ThePFJ · 12/12/2008 09:14

Morning all.

Just caught up on the thread. Denny hope your grazes heal up fast.. you'll have some lovely scabs to pick at just like when we were growing up... mmmm tasty - joke(feels a bit queasy now)
Doesnt it make you ill when people talk bout eating their scabs/fingernails etc? DP mentioned it to me the other day and I almost heaved.

Scorpio I am a tumble lover too. I have a perfectly good washing line outside I just can't seem to bring myself to use!

I am all tired out from the ASDA trip last night. We got a massive trolley full of food and stuff for Christmas. And can I say that I still have memories of being able to buy 2 trolleys full for the price we paid for it all when I was in my early twenties. Eeee by gum.. titter titter.. about prices these days >.<

Little Jack is still teething badly. But I have just noticed that we haven't had to go to the hospital with him for a whole month now!
Now thats wonderful.

xxx

ThePFJ · 12/12/2008 09:16

Hi Ellie - good news about Gran

EllieG · 12/12/2008 09:26

God, what an ENORMOUS poo. Yuk.

That is good about Jack

Does anyone else's babies love In the Night Garden? Whenever it is on Molly is transfixed - she couldn't care less about other tv, but even hearing the music makes her stop what doing and look up. I think they must put something in it.

LilMatchGirlInVictorianSqualor · 12/12/2008 09:29

YES Ellie re:ITNG. A loves it. He gets all panicky when the tomboliboos hide and starts searching the screen for them.

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 12/12/2008 09:32

For some reason though she doesn't like the Pontipines as much as the rest of them. Was all about Mr Pontipine losing his moustache yesterday and she was not as excited until iggle piggle et al came on towards end and there was much flapping and squeaking in excitement. I have to admit, I do love the tombeliboos myself.

ThePFJ · 12/12/2008 09:36

Same here, and Jack loves the teletubbies too. He has a light up teletubby my mum gave him and he seems to understand its the same Lala as on the screen.

ThePFJInASleigh · 12/12/2008 09:48

Ok. Now me and my minions have Christmas transport.

ThePFJInASleigh · 12/12/2008 11:00

A curse on ITV3 for mixing up the Quincy episodes too much. I can't keep up!!!

Soph73 · 12/12/2008 13:49

Hi all. Was gone for a couple of days as my stupid Doc didn't give me an alta (piece of paper to say I can start work again), she gave me a continuation of my sick leave. So I did a full days work on Tues when I wasn't supposed to. Good job I got it sorted though because if an Inspector was to come into the school to find me working when I was on the sick the school would be fined ... oops! Anyhow, all sorted now. Will try & catch up with all your messages.

Have put some up-to-date photos of Sam on profile & a piccie of DS1 in his King costume, which he wore for his concert yesterday. DS1 is the one on the right. I was very proud and teary as he had quite a big speaking part & he was really nervous but did fabulously. Also, it was his last Infant Christmas concert as next year he'll be in Primary. Where does the time go?????

Just think how quickly the last 4 months has gone. Now think that in 4 months time our little ones will be having their first birthdays .... I mean blinkin' heck, it doesn't seem like 2 mins ago that we were all waddling around waiting to see the little mites I'm very of those of you who are ttc again. I'd love to have another but it is completely out of the question.
TSC - sorry to hear about your cat. Get another one asap.
Elli - my Nan was given 20 mins to live after suffering 2 heart attacks on the operating table. That was 10 years ago. They don't make 'em like they used to
PFJ - great about Jack. Please don't mention Christmas. Although, must say have nearly got myself sorted.

ThePFJInASleigh · 12/12/2008 14:41

Hi Soph!!

Love the pics they are lovely!
TSC if only you lived near Cornwall.. my mum has just taken in two little black girl cats, one is pregnant and the other has three legs, and she is trying to find homes for them.

Anyways, I haven't really got much to say now.. apart from that peanut M&m's are too nice. Someone stop me from eating the entire party pack we bought last night!!

Soph73 · 12/12/2008 14:59

PFJ - don't mention chocolate, especially peanut M&M's. I could really do with choccie & I absolutely adore peanut M&M's ... well, most choccie to be honest Last week the physiotherapist asked if I was pregnant again .... really must do something about my belly! She did get a bit embarrassed when I replied "no, just fat"

Soph73 · 12/12/2008 15:16

Anyway, got to go & do a little bit of work before home time. It's going to be strange just DH & I in the car tonight. I bet MIL's wishing she never offered to have both boys during the day She's going to need a holiday after we've finished with her.

Take care. See you all Monday.

ThePFJInASleigh · 12/12/2008 15:37

Don't worry Soph.. I seem to have put more weight on lately.. My belly-friend seems to have set up camp and isn't going anywhere. It doesn't bother me too much though. Just another excuse to go clothes shopping for some new, fashionable but more elasticated skirts?

ThePFJInASleigh · 12/12/2008 15:51

My brother just got made redundant. He had been working there 5 years and never took a single sick day. He's so cut up about it.

Bugger.

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 12/12/2008 17:20

Oh poor your bro, that's awful

soph - people have asked me several times if am preggers, give same response as you and they then go away. I do wish people wouldn't though. Not that it stops me eating chocolate mind

Awwww to your DS's. Sam has the BIGGEST smile, is lovely

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 12/12/2008 17:24

Sat next to a lady in M&S cafe whinging how fat she'd got post baby and she was exactly half my weight.

Beat that!

(She was 6 stone though- very skinny but also very short)

I thought

  1. Very rude
  1. Yum this cake is nice
TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 12/12/2008 17:51

The way I see it I'm going to be pg again soon enough, so I need to stock up on wine in preparation for the HG, I can worry about the belly another time
