Can someone please add "our babies" as my machine will probably blow up if I try it

Just feels like she is having it less and less, because of nursery, beaker, etc. And i did want this to happen, for it to ease off slowly and gently so by 1 i can just switch her over, but my god i am going to miss it, miss her, i just adore it i really do.

TheShipsCat · 11/12/2008 10:55

Congrats on decision to TTC, PFJ, and thanks for your kind words about the cat. I'm still miserable, and dd1 has started to notice more and more. But - moving on - well done for you and Mr PFJ to talk properly and decide on this. Good luck!

I am definitely among those whose DHs who have Had Enough!

I am - sort of - glad to hear that everyone else is having awful periods too. Do they calm down again? Or do I need to find some long term solution? Its a nightmare - so messy. Even the mooncup isn't sufficient, I have to empty it every hour...

TheShipsCat · 11/12/2008 11:13

Forgot to ask - has anyone else's LO been eating tangerines?
A reached over and took dd1's tangerine off her, and ate it. The last night, she had a terrible tummy ache. Was it the tangerine, do you think?

ThePFJ · 11/12/2008 12:51

Might have been if little A isn't used to acidic fruits like tangerine... Doesn't mean she can't have more though.. just not as much til she gets used to it maybe?
TSC - more hugs today for you, and everyday. I know you are still heartbroken. This is the last time I'll bring it up though, so mumsnet is always a 'good' distraction for you, but please remember I havent forgotten, I'm just not mentioning it. Find a good photo of darling kitty and frame it, putting it up somewhere nice in your home.

So, can I ask.. how many kids is everyone planning to have?

My other half has just said to me that six is too many and its my descision as I am the one who has to go through the whole pregnancy and nursing thing.

Congrats on TTC VS and Scorpio. So glad its not just me... It feels too early to be TTC but by the time I get pregnant and add on 9 months... then I think it won't feel too soon then! I do feel guilty when I look at how much time I get with baby Jack right now every day and wonder how he'll feel when mummy is divided.

My periods are light and on time at the moment. The first two periods after baby Jack were horror itself though.
I find sitting in warm bath water and rinsing thoughly.. er.. 'up there' always calms down my periods and makes me bleed less for about day if thats anyyyyyyy help at all to those who are suffering...
Or it could be just me and my weird body. Probably the latter.

xxx everyone xxx

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 11/12/2008 13:28

scorpio.... bas hasnt cut down despite eating solids! for this reason people now comment on how fat he is now which does make me msl after his start...,..

so its about 8 feeds a day, 3-4 a night

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 11/12/2008 13:32

oh Bas has oranges fine btw

and the drinks thing.... Bas is still refusing to drink from bottles / cups etc so it is still all me, will have bottle in his mouth but not drink. The only exception is if he can get bath water in his mouth, loves it

scorpio1 · 11/12/2008 13:51

Peachy we have a nuby cup, only thing mimi will take cup

PFJ we will have this next baby, and then think dh may get the snip. Or, im happy to get another coil, whatever. But no more after this, as that will be 5 between us.

scorpio1 · 11/12/2008 13:52

havent tried mimi on oranges

TheShipsCat · 11/12/2008 14:12

PFJ - thanks
'how many kids is everyone planning to have?'
Two kids is exactly two more than I planned!

ThePFJ · 11/12/2008 14:32

lol TSC!

I guess I'll see how I feel with two little ones running around and then decide....

ThePFJ · 11/12/2008 15:06

Scorpio - Whats it like having 4 kids running around? Does it get easier as time goes by? do you EVER sleep??

DaidiNaNollag · 11/12/2008 15:09

I find it very hard now I'm back at work, tbh. Soooooo much to get ready the night before!

LilMatchGirlInVictorianSqualor · 11/12/2008 15:37

PFJ. After 2 you don't really notice any more
It's all about structure, organisation, relaxing standards/expectations and a partner that does as they are told pulls their weight, IMO.

scorpio1 · 11/12/2008 15:49

I only have 4 in the holidays...its cool! I sleep 11-7 every night. its about being organised, getting prepared for things before they happen, having routines and a fab dh

scorpio1 · 11/12/2008 15:49

also the elder ones can make beds, tidy rooms, clear plates....

ThePFJ · 11/12/2008 16:37

Sounds good Scorpio...

I am so excited about having a family with children....

beams for a bit

Tonight a friend is taking us all to ASDA for a big shopping trip. I shall attempt to get everything we need for the Christmas table....
DP and friend/his new boss should be here at 6:30...

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 11/12/2008 16:45

Do you not srive PFJ? My aprents don't and they get excited about big shops- I do and use the internet LOL. parking a real issue in Cwmbran at this time of year- its free so everyone heads there.

4 kids.... hmm.... can't say I've quite regained a sense of equilibrium. Partly obv because Bas is the incredible eating monster so still very broken nights and ds1 settling around midnight, but am perenially late tos chool (do ahev an agreed late pass with Head so not being evil- better than leaving ds1 in the playground or losing ds3 in a swarm of small boys)

The laundry too..... Oh goodness the laundry!

ThePFJ · 11/12/2008 17:10

We have a car... but neither of us drive officially yet. DP is having lessons at the moment though. I 'can' drive. Just not without running over old ladies.

Yes going to a big cheap shop with clothes for sale in too makes me a bit excited
Sad aren't I?

ThePFJ · 11/12/2008 17:33

mmm lovely full moon out there tonight girls.
Time to run around outside with our underpants on our heads no?!

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 11/12/2008 18:15

I thought full moon was tomorrow?

Whenever it is, you atch MN kick off!

scorpio1 · 11/12/2008 18:29

I can't drive. yet. So DH has a van and we have a car, which just sits there until weekends when we go to tesco, about a mile away in it, lol. We are trading up to a new 7 seater next year, so i will get on to those driving lessons me thinks!

Peachy i must admit i am a tumble drier lover.

JingleBellsDennySmells · 11/12/2008 20:04

IMO 3 is too many sometimes, 2 was easy, nice big age gap, easy to keep ontop laundry/housework etc as well as spend good ammounts of time with DC. Sometimes find it difficult with the smaller age gap from 2 to 3 and with DH working shifts. Still wouldnt change it for the world but def no more here.

Had a mare today, spent most of the am tooing and frowing for DD1 school play and DS pre-school party. Play was this pm and noticed DD2 starting with conjunctivitis (DS had for couple of days) pharmacist wouldnt give anything as too young so Drs app made, dropped DD1 off at rainbows on the way but DS managed to trip me up on the way in. Wouldnt have been so bad but carrying DD2 in left hand and holding DS's hand in my right hand so we all went down
Luckily I seemed to take most of the impact on my knees and the back of my left hand but DD2 has a couple of grazes on her head and DS on his hands. So the Dr ended up giving her a complete once over not just checking her eyes - all well thankfully. Got to sat though I havnt had grazes like this since I was 5, lol.

JingleBellsDennySmells · 11/12/2008 20:05

Oh and Sal how did the first day go?

SalLikesEggnogUnderMistletoe · 11/12/2008 20:49

It was quite nice, thanks Denny. Come 5:30 I started panicking re going home (had to pick up R at nursery!) and felt a bit guilty as everyone else was still busy... I'll have to arrange something - either nanny / mother-in-law (who has offered to come over but not sure how i feel about it yet) / leaving 5pm (possibly 30mins lunch if they'll be open to it. I feel guilty about asking for flexibility this early on (and the fact that the team reporting to me will work later than me might be a bit strange), but the trains are such that this won't work.

Oh, and VS, I've said too much on here already before , but honestly, Mooncup (coming from someone seriously freaked out by that time of the month). And just think of all the money you'll save! If you feel afraid first time, you can always use Mooncup + towel.

JingleBellsDennySmells · 11/12/2008 21:11

Could u do a bit of work from home if needed? Constraints of childcare can be quite stressful when going back to work.

Quite a lot of people alternate too ie one parent drops and the other picks up so you could either start earlier or work later, would that work?
