Well DH won his fight, we are very xmassy here, have treated ourselves to a new telly, just all good really!

SalLikesEggnogUnderMistletoe · 08/12/2008 21:12

ah, wonderful. congrats to your dh too!

Here quiet. Dh away with work for the week, but so far so good - R slept well last night. A bit unsure about tonight, as he seems a little moany, but fingers crossed. As long as he sleeps ok on Wednesday so that I'm at least half awake on my first day I'll be happy!

LilMatchGirlInVictorianSqualor · 08/12/2008 22:17

We have 8 month checks. Don't fret1
Off t'bed. nanite xxx

SalLikesEggnogUnderMistletoe · 08/12/2008 22:37

Thanks, VS! Good night to you too.

I have to drag myself to bed now too, or else I'll regret it at three tomorrow morning...

LilMatchGirlInVictorianSqualor · 08/12/2008 22:39

Yes, I need to too I have breastfeeding thingy in the morning, work in the afternoon, DD's friend over after school + baking with 3 DCs. Sleep would be good.

SalLikesEggnogUnderMistletoe · 08/12/2008 22:47

Hahaha. Oh dear, we're like children. I need someone to come over and drag me to bed.

DaidiNaNollag · 08/12/2008 23:29

Harry had a 7 month check up today. Passed his hearing test but might have an issue with an undescended testicle. But apparently I'm not to worry till he's one.
Also, apparently he doesn't need the night feeds any more! He didn't look convinced, I have to say!

Soph73 · 09/12/2008 11:20

Morning all. Long time no message. Well, back at work as MIL arrived yesterday afternoon so Sam has his own personal slave for a couple of weeks Hope you are all well & I´ll update you all with what's been going on in several messages as you all know what this computer's like Will also try and read your messages but I was only on Page 10 the last time I sent one so I might be some time

OP posts:
Soph73 · 09/12/2008 11:23

Here goes ... Sam's bronchiolitis is much better & he barely wheezes at all now. He's still got to take the salbutamol though & when he gets rattly then we've got nasal drops to squirt up his nose then we have to jiggle him around until he burps or coughs - not easy as he refuses to give in I'm also recovering as I fell over twice & knackered my already bad back (broke it when I was younger) so hoicking Sam around for 2 weeks was a bit hurty

OP posts:
Soph73 · 09/12/2008 11:26

Sam has also started occupational therapy & he does that for half an hour before his physio so he's completely knackered by the time he's finished that. We've got to get him some more toys that play music, light up & have lots of things to press & feel. We also have to sit him a certain way & he's supposed to spend the majority of his time on his tummy. He really doesn't like doing it but if it helps then he has to poor love.

OP posts:
Soph73 · 09/12/2008 11:30

Finally (for now) I was told by his physio he had an ear infection last Fri & that he was really suffering .... she kept poking him in the ear to demonstrate how much it hurt him A Dr saw him & said yep deffo ear infection. I then spent the rest of the day running from one Doc to the next panicking because I thought he was in agony. Finally saw our paediatrician to be told that there was absolutely nothing wrong with him and, as she pointed out, "he probably just doesn't like being jabbed in the ear." Which was probably the only point in the day where I managed a genuine smile. You wait until I see the physio tomorrow Apart from that we are all fine and looking forward to DS1's concert on Thurs. He's a king and very proud of his costume Will put up photos when I have them.

Goodness Soph you have been busy. Hope Sam is ok now.

Everyone else ok?

Soph73 · 09/12/2008 13:22

Hi scorpio - my machine is still trying to download the piccie of your hubby so will have a look when it's done. Sam's much better thanks, although they say he'll never really fully recover

OP posts:
Soph73 · 09/12/2008 13:26

Great piccie, looks like you wouldn't want to mess with a couple of them

Poor little sam

I dont think I would have liked being poked and bas hates having his ears touched!

had 2 concerts this week; ds1 / 2 yesterday, Harry today

was a bit at harry as prob the last one I will see but he loved it

almost throttled old ladt this morning. she's alone (now I know why!) and we've alway made an effort.... anyway this morning she sarted rating about budget and her savigs are being stolen (thats interest levels, bank of england but anyway)- I casually state that at least we get winter fuel now..... to get an ear bashig about how al disabled kids like mine are benefits cheats and all you do is phone up and say you want dla!

it took almost a dozen reports plus a 60 ish page dcument to get t- and an appeal for ds3- and you have to quantify each minute you care right down to amounnt of language interpretation time

grrrrrrr indeed ds3 should get mobility and I am v v v broke but I cant face the forms

plus side fayre made £1300 so thats good

Soph73 · 09/12/2008 13:54

Oops - sorry about that
Forgot to say that I went out on Sat night with friends & stayed overnight at their house all on my own - it was bliss. I had a bit of a weep, well actually it was more like niagra falls, all over DH the other night & it dawned on both of us that it was about time I had some time to myself and because DH was bored he defrosted the chest freezer, which has needed doing for ages. He's such a love!

Soph73 · 09/12/2008 14:02

Peachy - how did you hold yourself back? Hello btw No, Sam doesn't like his ears being touched. I should have known better because he didn't have a temperature and wasn't crying or grabbing at his ear but it seems more overwhelming when you're in a hospital at the time. You'd like to think they would know what to look for, especially as Doc there said it was an infection - won't trust what she says again!
Know what you mean about being broke, not quite sure how we're going to see ourselves through Christmas but I'm sure we'll get there somehow
Why is that the last concert you might see? If you don't mind me asking.

scorpio1 · 09/12/2008 15:17

Peachy - on your behalf. Some people really don't understand at all.

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 09/12/2008 16:11

Soph, harr ahs been given a place at a special needs school- which is good and sad together; best chance he'll get of progressing but sad that he needs it obv, and sad that he'll leve the friends that care about him (though tbh thats lessa nd less as I find that when they get older it becomes uncool to play with the sn kids )

Denny185 · 09/12/2008 19:21

Evening all, Sal we have 8 month checks and DD2 had hers today, the HV commented on her being a sterdy little lass (dont think its pc to call them fat ) she should have seen her b4 this bout of bronchiolitis sent her off her food/milk, LOL. She is being recalled in 6 months as she has a bit of a lazy eye but if its cleared we dont have to go back. Unfortunately we are back in 2 months anyway for DS 2.5 year check.

I went to my second tums/bums class today and my inner thighs wreck, what makes it worse is its my turn to walk the dog tonight boo. Still on the plus side Ive lost 10lb since stopping BF, yey.

DH is still being v good since my weekend away, generally now everything is done by 7.30 and we can both sit down (when he's here ob).

goodchristmasgirl · 09/12/2008 19:29
