I ladies thought I would start this..

I cant believe they are starting to and are going to be turning one.. This year has flown over.. I miss being pregnant. But i love watching lee playng with his older brother and sister, it always makes me smile.
I love the fact that he is now playing properly , will go to his toy box pull himself up and see what he wants to play with.. normally after throwing everything round the front room first..No such thing as a tidy room in this house.. How do people do it.

Hope everyone is ok.. speak soon

catstar- I agree with the constant fascination - I just love watching minimeep pootling around - especially when she is playing on her own and seems to be acting out little scenarios. She has picked up all these new things from teh tweenies room at nursery where she is now spedning some time!

She doesn't laugh into my mobile like LittleO - just says hiya and dada to it (which makes my dh sad because he doesn't always get home in timeto see her).

justabout - minimeep was just like your ds2 until Saturday and now she is off. We walked around the shops at the weekend holding hands and she cackled with laughter and kept dragging me to see the cuddly toys!!!

Hi there! We've got a toddler too! Little O is now full on walking and very happy about it. Like Minimeep we get dragged all over the place to see what she's pointing at - usually Xmas decorations at the moment.

Today is her last day in the baby room at nursery . She's been so happy there but is huge and starting to get a bit bored. The thing is, the lady that runs toddlers has got blond hair, and O is not too fond of her ... yet. She's going to be allowed to keep Igglepiggle with her the first week and we've put together a little book of photos of me and DH and her favourite things/nursery rhymes etc. My baby's growing up , !

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the prospect of snow over the weekend .

meep · 21/11/2008 19:56

Oh catstar - you've made me feel all "sniffy" about my baby growing up now !!!!!

We're lucky in that minimeep's nursery is quite small and once the babies start walking they take them through to the Tweenies room when it is quiet. Her key worker is also going to move through with her so she'll feel secure - but apprantly she was through today with the big tweenies and loving it!

Brrr to snow - it's baltic here!

pulapula · 21/11/2008 20:24

My DS went from baby room to little toddlers a couple of months ago, before he could even toddle (they move at about 14 mo). They grow up so fast. At toddler group today he was playing on his own away from me, and I was chatting with the mum next to me and she said "is he about 2?".

Funny to think my DD was walking confidently at 10-11 mo!

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't called in for a while. Been really busy. I have a query........

DS walked right across the living room on Friday (15m) but he hasn't bothered since. IS it normal for them to regress a little bit.

meep · 26/11/2008 06:51

typhoon - minimeep has only just started walking on her own - before that she would sometimes (if the mood took her) walk about 3 steps but would regress back to bum shuffling at the first opportunity. One day she just decided that she wanted to walk around the house.

What we did was give her so much praise whenever she stood up or walked that it would make her grin. Then whenever she fell over we would say "stand up minimeep" and she would, thinking it was a big game.

Now I am sad that we don't have any video footage of her lopsided bum shuffling because she won't do it any more!!!

Full of the cold here - wish I could have a Lemsip - paracetemal and Olbas Oil just ain't cutting it - sniff!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 26/11/2008 11:21

Hi all, really dorry I haven't checked in for absolutely ages, have been feeling aswell with this pregnancy as I did with the last two (when will I learn!).

Realy good to read all your news, Lydie is doing well bit of the sniffles atm so started on more ab's, but other than that she's just a little tomboy ( totally different to dd1 who is a very girly girly girl.

Had good news about the pregnancy had cvs because of the 1 in 4 risk of CF, and although baby is a carrier, s/he will not have CF, has been very emotional time (wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy) but like meep now feel much happier and able to worry less.

right got to go as dd1 is home today with the snotty grotties ( and joy of joy phlemgy sick this morning! sorry if tmi)

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 26/11/2008 19:59

MMN or JJF i love them both!! I've started a CF thread as I've just "met" another mum with a older daughter and wanted to chat more to her and didn't know where to post so it's here

pulapula · 27/11/2008 12:46

Doris,

Glad to hear that your CVS result was good news. At least you can start to enjoy the pregnancy now or at least, once you start to feel a bit better- sorry to hear the MS has been affecting you again. I am feeling over the worst of mine now (not been sick fortunately, just queasy) so just waiting for those first flutterings.

Take care.

twoplusone · 27/11/2008 18:46

Glad to hear scans and tests are going well.. and all out little ones are well.
cabnt remember who asked about the walking one day and not the next.. yes i think this is ok, I m sure ds1 used to walk one day then it would be a week or so till he did it again.. he was a late walker..16.5months. But i woulnd tworry too much unless there is anything else aswell as this you are worried about.. ask your HV.

Well we have 2 weeks to go till DH gets home and I CANT WAIT, this last 2 months has been worse than the 6months before as far as me missing him etc..
He is going to be upset when he getshome and sees Lee charging round the housde, running away from me, taking something he shouldnt, watching me and laughing his head off whilst running away from me. He is still climbing everything aswell, and he also seems to have had a growth spurt.
Still not talking much just mamamamamamamamamamamamamamamamam which id driving me mad.. as that is all i get all day with the occassional fshhhhh as he goes past the tank, and shouting randomly, in his own little language. Teh whent eh bigger two get in it really is just Mam , can I , mam I want ,mam he just , mam, mam mam.. i told the three of them I have changed my name and wioll not be answering or listening till they guess my new name...lol I wish..

Scott has improved lots I had his speech therapist on the phone telling me has has now caught up with his peers, 8 months ago he was about 12months behind them.. I wasnt aware it was that bad I though 6-8months behind.. But he is now at the bottom level of where heshould be which is fantastic, considering what has been going on in his life. The only concern was that he does act vwery babyish, I personally think this is because of his dad always being away, and I am hoping he will calm down when daddy comes home for a decent period. Although i do find boys immature anyway, we will see, not really bothered about that though as long as he is working well at school, and he is that is what matters to me that he is trying his best and enjoying it.

Sorry I am waughling.. better go and get some jobs done so i can sit and chill..xxx
beofre I go how is the christmas shopping going i have nearly finished just need to get some stocking fillers and a few bots of jewelery for dd.
For Lee we have got...
Bobby Car
Bobby Car trailer
Bobby Scooter
A water table for the bath and outside
A spinning Zebra thing
A farm house with animals that speaks German and English
A leap frog guitar that speaks french and English,
A book console thingy with 5 games

I still have money of people for him but i really dont know what else to get as we have everything from Scott, I thinki am going to get him the In the night Garden tunnel set.. Do you know how much it is in the UK as in the Naafi it is Euros 75 and I am not sure if this is way more than it is i nthe UK..
I am wondering how Lee will be with the christmas tree and looking for ways i can box it in in the front room, so that he doesnt pull it over!!!
Take care all and sorry for the long post.xx

2+1, not long now then til your DH is back home. I am amazed how you manage- my DH was working away Mon-Weds this week and I found things so hard.

I think the ITNG tent sent is £40 in the UK- not sure how many Euros that is?

JumpingJellyfish · 27/11/2008 22:38

Thanks Doris! Great idea! and BTW am so so pleased about your news, keep thinking about you and smiling! Hope the sickness eases up soon.

I'm really meant to be PhDing so will just say a quick hello to you all and run! We are a house full of contagion at the mo, need to take out shares in calpol, nurofen & kleenex...(and antibiotics too!!).

Hope all the plans for xmas are in hand
Love to you all xx

meep · 01/12/2008 06:54

Doris - I am so happy for you - know where you are coming from with eth emotions and so happy that it has turned out so good for you. Now go and relax and eat chocolate!

I am currently trying to teach minimeep that there is a baby in mummy's tummy. She just seems to enjoy putting her finger into my belly button which makes me squeal! We've bought her a dolly and a pram (shudder - sorry, can't abide dollys - no idea why ) for Christmas so she can copy me - but she doesn't really have any comprehension of what is about to happen!

Anyway - Happy 1st December everyone!

twoplusone · 01/12/2008 11:25

Bless minimeep..
Well our tree went up yesterday.. bg mistake.. Lee has pulled it over 3 times this morning..I can see us being a treeless family this xmas..... or having a tree with no decs on it..

Hope everyone is ok.
Only 12sleeps togo till DH is home, and I can SLEEP....

Take care everyone.x

2+1, DH put our tree up at the weekend (artificial) and Ben is very keen on it, and its about 6 or 7 foot tall, so bit worried about him pulling it over. Its not decorated yet, as we are just seeing what he makes of it before deciding the safest place for it!

twoplusone · 01/12/2008 18:36

Pulapula- Ours is a 7ft artificial he has pulled it over again this afternoon.. I am about to move it and corner it in between a sideboard the sofa and a toy box.. hopefully that will work!!!.. Even though he will just climb and pull everything of it..

I am tempted to see if i can find a fibre optic tree that is nice then atleast i wont have to keep decorating it .. and hoovering the little bits of thin tinsil string that has been put over it!!!

meep · 02/12/2008 10:38

We had a real tree last year fro minimeep's 1st Christmas - was gorgeous - but the mess was horrific!!! So my artificial one is going up this year - on a table so she can't get at it!

Just spent a night up with minimeep - high temps - shivering and snot. Poor wee thing - it's so scary when they get like that. She is mainlining Calpol and Nurofen at the moment - and was so bad that we brought her cot back into our nedroom with us for the night. Whenever the drugs started to work and she got chirpy she would stand up and bounce up and down shrieking with delight that we were there. We couldn't get grumpy about it because it was just so nice to see her being her normal happy self instead of a snotty wreck.

Haven't managed to get her temp below 38 since about 7pm last night - I always freak when it is over 39 , especially when she atrts to shiver and her teeth chatter.

She's having a nap at the moment so fingers crossed she will be betterwhen she wakes.

twoplusone · 02/12/2008 16:22

poor minimeep, hope she gets better soon.. sending loads of hugs.xx

Hope minimeep gets better soon. Ds has been vomiting and had diarrhoea since Saturday poor thing. He is obviously really hungry, but every time I give in and let him eat a little, up it comes. We've nearly managed 24 hours now so maybe he can have some breakfast. Problem is though he now is up to 3 or 4 bf a day and I was meant to be giving up.

minimeep is on the mend - hooray! I had a full night's sleep last night (apart from a pregnant lady trip to the loo!) and feel fantastic this morning!

Jennster - poor ds - at least he's trying to eat - that is a good sign. Hope your ds is back to being perky and bright again soon!
