Here we go. I was too sick, sleepy and preoccupied with my weight to notice the old thread running out

Jammy, glad the Jamlet is feeling better

Hellooooo Daisy!

lackaDAISYcal · 09/05/2008 22:38

hi izzy

madeindevon, sorry to hear your LO hasn't been well. Have you noticed it worsening since you have started weaning or has it always been bad? And has LO always been bottle fed? or breast and then bottle?

the thing that would jump out at me immediately is lactose intolerance, especially if LO has been bottle fed from birth and poos have always been dodgy, or of it has worsened since going onto bottles. If BF, then some LOs can be sensitive to lactose in mum's diet.

If things have got worse since weaning, it could be food related, and the common culprits are dairy or wheat/gluten. I would go see your GP and aks for a referral to a paed dietician. I'm surprised that your HV hasn't suggested this already tbh. Hopefully trace will see your posts as she has been having a few issues with her LO re gluten intolerance and might be able to help with symptoms etc.

Hello - is anyone still around?

Jammy, sorry yur DD has been poorly and glad she's on the mend

madeindevon - i don't have any experience of it myself, but it sounds like others have given you some good advice. Please come back and let us know what the HV/GP says

Everyone else, helloooooooo

Izzybel · 09/05/2008 22:53

Hi Fairy! I'm still here

FrazzledFairyFay · 09/05/2008 22:55

Hi Izzy

FrazzledFairyFay · 09/05/2008 22:59

It's been very quiet on here for a few days - has everyone been out enjoying the sunshine, or are they off posting elsewhere?

lackaDAISYcal · 09/05/2008 23:00

me too, I'm here!

Jammy, I hope DD is better. Ear infections can get worse very quickly, so it could well have been missed originally, but poor wee thing though. When DS had a bad infection when he was little we were prescribed nurofen and calpol as well as the ABs. The nurofen is anti inflammatory so helps reduce the swelling and hence pain until the ABs kick in.

DD is back to her normal self thank heavens. We have had normal poos since Tuesday (for the first time in five weeks ) and she is into everything again and wanting to walk all the time. Very wearing on my poor back!!

Still suffereing from the handbag incident....neck still stiff and getting blinding headaches, but much better than this time last week.

FrazzledFairyFay · 09/05/2008 23:02

Hello Daisy . Sorry you are still suffering but glad DD is on the mend. It's horrid when they're poorly and tripley hard when you aren't feeling great either.

FrazzledFairyFay · 09/05/2008 23:02

btw Daisy, are you going to find out the sex of DC3?

lackaDAISYcal · 09/05/2008 23:10

Not sure fairy.......I did with DD out of curiosity, mainly because I never had the option with DS. This one though, I'm not so sure about. DS would love a little brother though!

Izzybel · 09/05/2008 23:13

Sorry your neck is still sore, Daisy.
I found out with DD that we were having a girl. I can't imagine going the whole 9 months not knowing, but I bet it is very exciting though. Oooh another baby [broody emoticon]

FrazzledFairyFay · 09/05/2008 23:14

i was desperate to find out with both DCs. I think i might quite like a surrise if i had a DC3, as I already have 'one of each', if that makes any sense?

FrazzledFairyFay · 09/05/2008 23:19

Oh arse, it's late again. Dh is out tonight and I promised myself I'd just pop into MN quickly and then have an early night, but I got suuuuuucked in. I must go and get some sleep, goodnight

Izzybel · 09/05/2008 23:22

I say that to DP all the time! "I'll just be 10 mins" and then before I know it an hour or two has gone by

RiaButterflew · 10/05/2008 09:58

morning! Hi daisy.

Gorgeous day again. Lucky us

Must get dressed as BIL will be here soon to deliver the playhouse I bought the boys on ebay, and I always seem to be working in my PJs when he calls

Gardening day (again) I believe, and DH is having second thoughts about the job because of the splits shifts/petrols costs issue.

RiaButterflew · 10/05/2008 10:01

To explain: he could be better off taking a crappy lower wage job locally, rather than travelling to town and back twice a day for more money IYSWIM (you probably did, just me that's a bit dim).

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/05/2008 13:09

Afternoon all We took a stroll to the farmers market this morning and got some smelly goats cgeese with chilli and some black pudding, yum. And some strawberries

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/05/2008 16:27

Yay! I've persuaded DH that we should have a birthday party for the jamlet So I've just invited a few friends over for cake, jelly, icecream, strawberries ...

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 10/05/2008 17:05

aw jammy that sounds so nice, where are you again

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/05/2008 17:09

We're in Oxfordshire

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/05/2008 17:09

How are you natty? Had a nice day?

lackaDAISYcal · 10/05/2008 21:03

evening

Hi Natty

Hi Ria. Could DH cycle into town, or is it too far? Split shifts are a right old PITA.

Jammy, the cheese sounds nice, and strawberries.....mmmmmmmmmm

We have had a lovely day here. I pottered in the house, DH pottered in the garden, and then some friends came over at 4:30 for a wee barbecue. Very nice and relaxed. and the good thing about everyone having kids is that they all went home at 7:30 and we have the evening to ourselves!

DD slept for 15 hours last night, and had another two hours this afternoon and still went to sleep at 7:30! I think she will wake up two inches taller in the morning!

Christening tomorrow. I have decided not to wear all black, and have a pair of cream linen trousers that I got for a wedding when DD was 4 weeks old. I tried them on this morning and they still fit!.......although they were a wee bit on the tight side about the arse region! I've got a long tunic top though so no worries there. I only hope they don't split when I bend over!!!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/05/2008 21:15

Hey everyone. Thought I'd better pop in & say Hi after being chased up by the lovely Daisy .

lackaDAISYcal · 10/05/2008 21:18

hi tallulah . What have you been up to then? I've not checked my fb as I've been out of the loop for a week!

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/05/2008 21:19

Am back at work hence my absence. No time for anything.
