Here we go. I was too sick, sleepy and preoccupied with my weight to notice the old thread running out

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/05/2008 21:25

Hi ladies. I'm just popping in to say hello and then I'll be off to bed.

Daisy, have a lovely day tomorrow.

Ria - even if it's not much of a financial gain to have to travel, will the experience in a better job than he might get more locally at the moment be more beneficial in the long run?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/05/2008 21:29

And good luck with the trousers Daisy. My 'jama bottoms split right down the front the other day when I bent over. The seam went all the way from the waist band, down my tummy to between my legs. Poor jamlet, I bent over to give her a toy, stood up and she was left staring up at my bare tummy and ... Just hope she's not scarred for life

RiaButterflew · 10/05/2008 21:48

Hi all. Your day sounds fab daisy and jammy, I haven't been to a farmers market for ages (there was a regional food fair in the Dales last weekend, but we didn't go because we would have spent too mucb that we shouldn't!).

We have been in all day, DS1 went to a friends til teatime and we had the bossy little girl from down the street popping in and out. Baggins wouldn't nap until after tea, but DH has started building and I got he ironing done.

I am STARVING (bloody diets).

DH had his trial evening and talked his concerns over with the owner who was very understanding and grateful that DH had talked to him. (There would be no back up of staff to cover when he needs more time off to go to the hospital, so he would end up putting his next procedure off until after the season etc, add that to travelling in seaside holiday traffic and the pay = ). I think he has made the right decision for now, and the guy might give him a call when he has done his refurb and is looking to go more upmarket, so it's not all bad.

hi tallulabelle

RiaButterflew · 10/05/2008 21:50

I made chicken korma & veg rice for tea - it was the most bland, tasteless disgusting thing I've ever made and the kids thought it was delicious[shock. That's why I'm hungry - I need something tasty to take away the memory

lackaDAISYcal · 10/05/2008 21:54

lol jammy; my vision is of that happening to my trousers in front of the congregation tomorrow

We went to a lovely farmers market in Barnard Castle last weekend and bought lots of yummy food.

boo hiss to the work tallulah.....but remember lunchtimes!

Ria, I hope something turns up soon for DH.

bless, DH has fallen asleep on the floor. He's been up wiht DS since 5:30 this morning and with the working in the garden and a few beers at teatime.......I'll kick him awake if he starts snoring

lackaDAISYcal · 10/05/2008 21:56

Ria, if I haven't enjoyed my meals I always feel hungry again later, even if it was a big hearty portion.

RiaButterflew · 10/05/2008 21:56

you should wear bright purple pants, just in case daisy

Think I might bugger off for the night, this nice weather is really tiring!

Hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow.

justbeme · 10/05/2008 22:04

Evening!
How many hrs are you working Tallulabelle and what is it you do again?
Daisy, Is it DD's christening? ( Ive forgotten!)

Just been chilling today and watching DP working hard!! and had our first BBQ of the yr!

L appeared to move herself forward a little bit tonight, so we may have some commando crawling action tomorrow!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 10/05/2008 22:08

I'm a teacher JBM & back full time. It sucks.

justbeme · 10/05/2008 22:23

Oh poor you! Who has DD?
It must be really hard if you dont enjoy your job .

lackaDAISYcal · 10/05/2008 22:38

jbm, it's my twin nephew's christening, and DH and I are godparents to one of them. Never been a godparent before so am very excited!

I can see why you have no spare time tallulah; teaching takes up a lot of it, if my BF is anything to go by. she only works three days a week, but whenever I go over on her days off she is marking or doing lesson planners.

Am off too. Neck still sore; although it's getting better slowly. I think I overdid it with the cleaning yesterday and have upset it again. Am going to docs on Monday to demand a referral to a physio (DH has BUPA at work, so am intending to take full advantage of it)

justbeme · 10/05/2008 22:42

Have a lovely day Daisy - hope you feel better after a good sleep!!
Im off too - (have the munchies so going to the pantry for crips!)
night x

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 11/05/2008 07:49

Hey all,

Been pretty busy here, sorry I haven't been around. Nothing interesting though

I continue to feel knackered all the time and went to the Dr's on Friday who repeated the last dr's helpful observation that having a baby is tiring! Tosser! The problem is I then get really anxious about going to bed early and getting to sleep, and get cranky if I am out in the evening and want to bugger of home early so I can get to bed.

Anyway, we might go to the Lido today as the weather is lovely. DD doesn't particularly like swimming though

Hope you are all well. T good to see you, sorry you are so busy with work.

lackaDAISYcal · 11/05/2008 08:53

morning....hi bumper

I've decided that my trousers might not be able to take the strain, so am off to M&S this morning to get a pair of £15 linen trousers in a size 18! They'll do me for a bit before I start piling on the pounds.

so far have lost 9lbs and it is staying off, although I'm becoming slightly obsessive about weighing myself every morning. I'm determined not to get above 13 stone with this one, which only gives me 10lbs to play with.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/05/2008 12:02

We went out early and did a 5.5 mile walk, ending up at the garden centre, where we bought some tomato plants and then called DH for a lift home. We didn't get organised for planting seeds this year so have cheated, but at least I don't have to feel guilty about discarding seeedlings when more germinate than we need.

The jamlet was very good on the walk and seemed to enjoy looking about at things, particularly went we went past some sheep with their lambs

RiaButterflew · 11/05/2008 17:20

Hi.

We had a 1.5 mile stroll round the forestry, it was too hot for serious walking. We went off to a big car boot sale early but it wasn't on cos there was a shooting fair instead.

DH gone out temping tonight, Hope he's back for midsomer murders!

Anyone got any recommendations for fat birds long tshirts? I need to extend my summer wardrobe.

Which year group do you teach T?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/05/2008 18:16

This and good Ria? It's hard to tell how long it is mind you.

Or this?

We had a lovely afternoon in the garden. DH put up the parasol to give some shade for the jamlet and we had lunch, then I got out my big mixing bowl and filled it with water and she played with it and some little plastic pots. She got very wet but had fun I think It's so nice to be able to get out and enjoy the garden and a little bit of sunshine.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/05/2008 18:40

Ooooh, or this bargain?

Izzybel · 11/05/2008 18:49

Hi! Hope everyone has had lovely, sunny weather this weekend! We have had lovely weather until just after lunchtime, when it started thundering and lightening and it has been miserable since .

We had a BBQ last night, where most people got terribly drunk, apart from me [polishes halo] as I needed to be able to see to DD and DP's cousin's wife who is pg.
We sat out in the garden till midnight. You wouldn't think we were on the same planet as we were this morning with the dramatic change in the weather, but I suppose that's old blighty for you!

Izzybel · 11/05/2008 18:52

Sorry just read that back and it looks like I needed to see to the woman who is pg, but I meant that she didn't get drunk either!

lackaDAISYcal · 11/05/2008 19:06

lol izzy, that's exactly what I'd read

where in blighty are you?...should we all expect some thunder and lightning?

We had a lovely day at the christening; it was nice and relaxed and all the babies were good and didn't cry, in fact my godson (oh, it's nice to say that) was trying to drink the anointing oil! DD looked like a princess in her lovely dress, but we forgot the camera so didn't get any photos. I got myself a pair of linen mix trousers in a comfy size for £9 in ASDA this morning. Not sure about how ethically they will have been produced but it beat spending good money on something I'll probably not get a lot of use out of, although they do have a bit of growing room in them so should see me through this hot snap.

DD discovered a love of buffet food, especially party sausage rolls, mini scotch eggs and chocolate cupcakes ....she did have some cucumber and tomato to make up for it though.

I was remembering this time last year when it was bloody hot and we were all heavily pregnant. I'm glad it'll be autumn by the time I'm that big this time around!

lackaDAISYcal · 11/05/2008 19:18

Ria.....are these any good?

or tunics which tend to be a bit longer if you want something to cover your bum (don't we all )

this is nice

this too, and in the sale so even better

RiaButterflew · 11/05/2008 19:28

thanks for those suggestions, there's some lovely stuff to choose from. I will have to bite the bullet and go shopping. (Of course if I just lost some weight then I wouldn't have this problem I'm just wondering if I would find it easier to stick to my diet if I look more presentable, instead of being miserable about looking crap?)

I got my cheque from the cleaning so I think I can justify 1 tshirt.

lackaDAISYcal · 11/05/2008 19:31

Ria, you can always order online and send stuff back that isn't any good. I hate changing rooms with a passion as I always come away from a shopping trip feeling really despondent......I think they magnify the cellulite and fat! I was feeling quite proud of myself for losing and then maintaining a steady weight over the last few months, then this morning's shopping trip has blown that out of the water...it's definately just flab, not bump

TALLULAHBELLE · 11/05/2008 20:52

Hey all - sounds like you're getting nice weather down south. We had a few good days earlier in the week but they had run out by the weekend .

Ria - I have P6 at the moment (10-11 year olds).

JBM -I actually enjoy my job -the actual teaching bit- but loathe the hours of paperwork involved, (a lot of it totally unnecessary imho) not to mention the bloody staff meetings . DH has DD at the moment so its not so bad but I hate leaving her in the mornings & she is so pleased to see me when I get home that it reminds me how much I am missing.

I would never have believed it a year ago & the feminist in me is in total but I am envious of my mother's generation who were expected to stay home with littlies.
