Here we go. I was too sick, sleepy and preoccupied with my weight to notice the old thread running out

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/05/2008 08:45

Yay! The jamlet is much improved this morning She woke in the night and I had a 5am start with her, so I'm exhausted, but she's alert and cheerful and had some breakfast And she's just been playing with her toy similar to this and has worked out how to take the rings off (which she's done before) and then put them all back on again (which is new ) So she's a happy little camper for a while at least.

looking for a bit of advice about my 11 month old. since he had chicken pox at 12 weeks its been one thing after another. and has probably only been 100% well for 4 weeks in total since then, bad cough (bronchiolitis),chest infection, throat infection, eczema, sickness, bad wind, loose mucusy stools...
went to see paediatrician yesterday about egg allergy and he thought cough was croupy...first doc to say that...others have said bronchiolitis (this has been going on since november) hes had 3 courses of antibiotics already in his short life.
anyway....main question....im putting down to teething his bad nappies but if im honest since hes been on solids (from 6 months) hes only every had about 2 weeks where his poos for anything like solid....that isnt normal is it? 3 weeks ago he had a week where he was well and had proper solid poos......since then back to green slimey wet ones.....is it just teeth or could it be something else?
hes not a good eater either (not putting on enough weight....has gone from 90th percentile to the 9th)
apart from that hes a happy baby....but im worried he has bowel problems.
hes only had 2 bottom teeth so far.
any ideas or info about other 11 month old nappy habits to see if im just being neurotic gratefully received!

madeindevon2 · 09/05/2008 09:02

forgot to say....he had terrible wind most of the time...(like his dad...)

Seansgirlthesequel · 09/05/2008 09:53

Hi all have been making the most of the weather, butnow its raining. Have only skimmed last few days, but hope all is well. Good to here little Jammy on the mend.

madeindevon, Poor wee Lo, my DS has had very similar, he had croup in feb, you will know if croup very distinctive sound compared to other coughs. We have found a humidifier works really well, and any sign of wheezyness with Ds and we put it straighton. But the poos - it doesn't sound normal to me, have you spoke to your HV? I had some worries about DSs feeding, the HV got him referred to feeding specialist? Not sure if all health authorities have this? Does Lo have reflux? Maybe has an intolerance? Also found with DS he wasn't eating much as he was drinking too much milk, we cut down his milk and he has eaten alot better ever since.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/05/2008 09:57

Hello madeindevon. Sounds like your DS has had more than his share of illness Poor both of you.

My experience of nappies is limited to my DD, almost 11 months. Apart from the past day or so, when she's on ABs, her nappies are mostly fairly solid. She hasn't got any teeth yet, but has been showing signs of teething for ages, and there have been some very soft, sticky ones (sorry if TMI) that we have attributed to teething, but most are solid. Sorry, that's probably not a lot of help is it? But I hope you get some advice and a better run of good health for your DS soon.

It's normally very chatty on here btw, though has been quite quiet recently. but I'm sure someone else will be along to offer some help soon.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/05/2008 09:58

Hi SG. How are you?

Seansgirlthesequel · 09/05/2008 10:22

Hi Jammy, not thanks. Off to rythm time with Ds shortly in meantime doig a sort out of clothes (need to get rid of some clutter)But apart from that still feeling farking starving though

Hows you?

Seansgirlthesequel · 09/05/2008 10:23

Not bad thanks it should have been.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/05/2008 10:28

Oh I'm OK thanks. Tired from looking after/worrying about DD but OK.

madeindevon2 · 09/05/2008 10:45

thanks for you help. maybe i go talk to the HV

madeindevon2 · 09/05/2008 10:57

i was worried he wasnt eating enough coz of milk so reduced milk but still wasnt eating so back on 4 bottles a day.
he gags on food often and throws up too which ends a mealtime abruptly too.
think i will go to doc next week.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/05/2008 11:16

Sounds like you need someone to take a look madeindevon. I agree with SG that the poos don't sound normal and if he's lost a lot of weight too then better get it checked?

RiaButterflew · 09/05/2008 12:38

Sorry to hear your troubles madeindevon, no advice, but I hope you get some answers.

FANTASTIC WEATHER again today, and DH is building a wildlife habitat Bless him, he needs a job

I have bought a tshirt, and may go out without my fleece on over the weekend if it covers enough lumpy bits

I have "lost" our exercise motivation thread - are we still posting? I used the LTT last night with hand weights, only about 10-15 mins (DH came back from the pub early) but I feel good for it and am planning tonight too.

Back later, got to go collect more reclaimed pavnig slabs for DH projects!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/05/2008 12:54

here Ria. Though apart from my post the other day it's not seen the light of day much of late.

RiaButterflew · 09/05/2008 16:33

Someone slap me! I am never satified. DH has been for an interview this afternoon, for a job he wouldn't mind, and he has a working trial this weekend. I am because we had fun stuff planned that we won't be doing now. And that is really silly because obviously the job is more important. I suppose I have just got too used to him being here

If it's nice I will take the boys to the beach on Sunday maybe. Chips and ice cream and diet on Monday

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/05/2008 16:39

Ria, of course the job is important (and fingers crossed for DH) but doesn't stop you being disappointed about your weekend plans does it? Hope you have a good time whatever though.

RiaButterflew · 09/05/2008 19:08

thanks jammy.
I will make the effort to go to the beach if it's nice weather (gawd I hate sand) as the hotel is quite near the seafront so I can drop DH off and he can find us when he's done. I might see if DN&N want to go too aa they live quite near and Dsis will want to be in her garden. I can growl at 5 kids aas well as just 3

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/05/2008 19:35

Ria

lackaDAISYcal · 09/05/2008 22:01

helllllllloooooooooooo

is there anybody out there?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/05/2008 22:06

Hi Daisy!!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/05/2008 22:07

It's been quiet without you!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/05/2008 22:13

But I've got to go. Am desperate for a pee, and if I'm going upstairs I might as well go to bed while I'm up there!

lackaDAISYcal · 09/05/2008 22:26

oh, have I missed you?

I'm either the glue that holds everyone together, or a gassy windbag.........gassy windbag I think

Izzybel · 09/05/2008 22:31

Hello everyone!

Madeindevon, no advice really, but I just wanted to say that my DD who is 11 months usually has really greeny mucusy(sp?) poo when she is teething (sorry TMI!) and sometimes with a bit of blood (I spoke to a professional about blood and they said seems like comes from bowel, so nothing to worry about.) Although it seems to be solid the rest of the time. I would probably speak to the HV about your DS. Hope he's ok!
