Here we go. I was too sick, sleepy and preoccupied with my weight to notice the old thread running out

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 21:56

hi bumper, how's it going? Hows your little bro with the cool name?

foxythesnowfox · 23/05/2008 21:58

I agree Ria. Its extremely unfair on DS and you to lull you into a false sense of security by telling you they are dealing with it, then let you down so badly. Sending him own with a poor report is downright mean!

foxythesnowfox · 23/05/2008 22:00

that should be 'sending him home' my PC is on a go-slow

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 23/05/2008 22:10

Great thanks Ria. They only live part-time with my dad now. My parents have 4 divorces between them, and that's not even including with each other (never married). By my lil' bro's are fab boys, very individual and cool, both red heads too, with long hair, but they carry it off well .

justbeme · 23/05/2008 22:11

Hi
Sorry to hear about the report Ria, let's hope the school work with him now to get something sorted.
BTW, how much was your breadmaker and what make and more importantly - is the bread any good???? (Ive got my neighbours one on loan at the mo).

What do you think about hiring an entertainer for a 1st birthday at a cost of nearly £100?? - Not me you understand, something someone mentioned today at a group.

lackaDAISYcal · 23/05/2008 22:17

Ria, I agree with foxy; the fact that the school are aware of his problems, means it's incredibly unfair of them to send home a bad report.

If it were me, I'd take it up with the school governors or even the LEA. At the very least I'd be shouting about why he hasn't had the SEN assessment yet.

Can you start a thread on here about it? there are lots of women on here whose kids have SEN and who know the ropes as it were.

DF and I just fell back into our old chat actualy so it was fine. I'm sure that will be even easier with siblings as you still have a lot in common.

DD also points a lot, which goves her carte blanche to not even try to say words as she always gets what she points at. I'm trying to make it a habit to say the name of the thing she is pointing at, but if I'm distracted I tend to just giove her things.

LittleMissNorty · 23/05/2008 22:18

Hello all

Ria, am very for you, I would go to parent's evening and wipe the bloody floor with them....its just not good enough....as you say, he clearly needs some support from the school.

Was there any fall out over the guinea pigs?

Well, got a busy week...DDs birthday BBQ (I hope) next Saturday and need to organise things. got MIL coming to stay (oh joy)

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 22:18

jbm, I bought this, and only because the cgeaper white one was sold out and I really wanted it today. The bread smells ok. DM has one that was no doubt more expensive and i aren't that keen on her bread. I am off to rescue the loaf now.

NO to the b'day party, Why? Might as well have an Ann Summers as surely it's more for the parents at 1? (obviously LOs enjoy a party and gets lots out of it, but won't be sat in a line watching a magician? No offence intended.)

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 23/05/2008 22:19

JBM. You know what dd would love for her birthday? Some kitchen roll to shred into pieces, bubbles or a cup of water.

Ria, sorry to hear about DS, hope you can get him some help.

Foxy, can you believe that thread from TDWP's H?

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 22:21

I have typing dyslexia.

I have forgotten what I was going to post...

LittleMissNorty · 23/05/2008 22:22

Oh Bumper, what was it about - looks like its been deleted

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 22:23

I remember, I did once post about DS and I got some nasty replies along the lines of "my DCs DO have dyslexia, but lots of children are just lazy and parents try to make excuses with dyslexia..." FFS it's not a competition. DH will make waves

justbeme · 23/05/2008 22:27

I Know Bumper!!! If you start at that level, where will it end!!!
Im probably not even going to do much for L's.

and Im being thick here - but I dont understand the initials re the other thread???

justbeme · 23/05/2008 22:30

Thanks for the info Ria - pls tell me what you think of the bread wont you??

Forgot to say - tonight is night 3 of breaking L's sleep cycle of feeding in the night.

Night one - my partner dealt with her and boy did she cry, but after a long while went off to sleep. Last night - one tiny cry and nothing else!! So we'll see what tonight brings (but she's definately teething).

ps new thread soon!!

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 22:31

I had a good idea for baggins bday, but have forgotten that too.
We have so many toys already cos I never throw anything away and sis and friend give us stuff.

I don't know about friend. she sent an email to say someone was going in 2x daily to feed up, don't know/care if there were bitchy undertones.

Izzybel · 23/05/2008 22:32

Hey everyone!
Ria, sorry about DS's school and his report. for you.

DD's party is next Sat too. We are having it at home and hopefully it will be nice weather so we can sit outside. DP wanted to go to Wacky Warehouse and have it there . She's only one fgs!

I've been round at my friend's house today, helping her prepare for her DS's first birthday party, which is tomorrow and DD has been whinging all day, and hanging on to the backs of my legs. I was getting really frustrated with her. It was only when I tickled her and she laughed, that I realised that she has two back teeth coming through, which must be really hurting her . I felt really bad for getting annoyed with her. The gums, where the teeth are coming, are blue like veins running through her gums. Does anyone know if this is normal or shuld I take her to dr?

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 23/05/2008 22:32

Good luck JBM, sounds pretty much par for the course.

TDWP (The devil wears primark) it was her wanker H coming on apparently, slagging her off.

Anyway must go to bed, DD thinks 6.15 is an appropriate wake up time atm

Night xxx

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 22:33

new thread fpr when we're ready!

justbeme · 23/05/2008 22:38

Ahhh i see Bumper!

Izzy - I don't know to be honest. Wouldnt have thought theres much the Dr's could do though?? Just make sure you're giving her gel/calpol etc - But someone else may know more.

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 22:39

hi izzy. don't know about gums, sorry.

If DH still has his job on DS3s bday we might go to where he works, but only because it's somewhere we would go for the others anyway, and I might feel comfortable enough to go there by then. baggins bday will be more for the big boys, DN&N and the GPs!!!

Izzybel · 23/05/2008 22:41

The dentist would be better than drs wouldn't it
I will keep an eye on it over the weekend and see how it looks. It looks sore though.

Izzybel · 23/05/2008 22:44

Have given her calpol and she seemed to cheer up after that. She's just had one of those days where she has wanted to be cuddled all the time, which is not really like her at all. She likes attention but she likes to be off exploring mostly.
