Here we go. I was too sick, sleepy and preoccupied with my weight to notice the old thread running out

The cat made a very hasty exit!

FrazzledFairyFay · 23/05/2008 19:41

Good evening everyone. It's Friday, hurrah!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/05/2008 19:43

Hear hear Fairy! (Or is it here here?)

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/05/2008 19:45

Just a quick Hello and Bye to all, hope you all have good bank holidays and weeks. Off to pack car ready to go at 6am tomorrow

FrazzledFairyFay · 23/05/2008 19:46

hello jammy and SG. Have a great time SG

foxythesnowfox · 23/05/2008 20:07

Enjoy SG!

Hi FF, and anyone lurking

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/05/2008 20:09

Where are you going SG?

I'm really exhausted. And still feel like I have a couple of satsumas loaded with razorblades stuffed down my throat. It's not affecting my vocal chords at all, so I don't sound like i have a sore throat but it really hurts. Sorry to whinge, but I feel quite sorry for myself. Had my reflexology appointment this morning though and she said I felt in much better shape than last time.

lackaDAISYcal · 23/05/2008 20:40

evening all......an bloody knackered. Ds is high as a kite; DD over-tired and over excitable; niece a bit put out that DS wouldn't let her open any presents. All well in the daisy household though as they are all in bed.

Bless DS though. DN is coming up for four and has been dry at night since 2.5. DS still in pyjama pants . anyway she asked what it was when he was getting his pj pants on; wuick as a flash he answered they're special pants to help make sure his trousers don't fall down when he climbs the ladders up to his loft bed. He is getting very very sensitive about wearing them, but has only had about four or five dry nights since he was 3.5 years old. I think I might see the doc about it and see if there's anything they can do. We've tried lifing him (often two or three times a night), but he's still always wet in the morning

FrazzledFairyFay · 23/05/2008 20:42

Hi Daisy. I'm glad your DS had a good party. Did you enjoy it?

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 20:52

Hi again.

Have a great time SG. Glad the party went weel daisy. How old is DS? I think DS1 wasn't dry every night til at least 5, DS2 is only dry once in a blue moon. I love his answer though, bless him.

I bought the nearly cheapest bread maker I could find, I have a white loaf with an hour to go. I always said I never wanted one...

Thanks for asking, DH is having a great time at work. He is cleaning and reorganising just now, after half term he is going to blitz the menu. Best of all we get half an hour tpgether between school run and work in the morning, and at the moment he gets home in time for the DCs bedtime. Last night he was late because he was testing the new lazer quest. He gets to water the garden in daylight for a change. O am still a bit but am very happy for him. And he works just near Morrisons - would be perfect if I was PG and ge could pop in to buy craving food on the way home

sorry, long post!

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 20:55

cat is baggins favourite word, And he took his first steps on Wednesday. DMs cousin who is a HV met DS2&3 today and said they were lovely. It gave me a lovely warm glow (that promptly turned into a black cloud when I read the report from hell)

lackaDAISYcal · 23/05/2008 21:07

Ria, you came over all scottish there . aye, it went weel

lol fairy, it was a fab party . Actually it wasn't too bad as I had a chat with a few of the mums, and DD was being lovely and charming until she got too tired. Thank heavens DH was there too though; I would've cracked up on my own as I've had a bad day depression-wise and nearly brained both the kids earlier.

Is DH enjoying the new job Ria? It sounds like it might actually be fun!

ouch on the school report, but yay to baggins for first steps. DD using her walker lots, but not trusting herself to do it alone. she'll get there.

Jammy, I haven't got around to posting the crawling ball yet, am rubbish

FrazzledFairyFay · 23/05/2008 21:07

Ria, I'm glad Dh's job is going so well. Where is he working?

The only 'words' DS says are 'MumMum' (mummy), 'Ma' (DD) and 'Mo' (more).

lackaDAISYcal · 23/05/2008 21:34

DD has quite a few words, but most are probably unintellible to other people. she does say daisy, and calls DS CaCaCa, as well as the usual mama, daddad, more etc but she calls milk geegee (??).

foxythesnowfox · 23/05/2008 21:34

at Mummum! DD says Dada, Ahhh dada (where's daddy) and row, row.

I think she said Muuum once, i'm not sure. I tell myself its because we are so in tune and I meet all her needs without her having to ask for me

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 21:35

Sorry daisy, though you should hear me when I go to Surrey

DH is working here It's not the Savoy, but he seems to be thriving without the stress for once.

lackaDAISYcal · 23/05/2008 21:38

lol foxy, that is a very positive outlook. DD definately says Dadad far more than mama, and when he is around I am but an innocent bystander, but it was quite nice tonight when she was overtired as only mum would do.

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 21:38

baggins really only says cat, dada and bbrrmm (for toy car). He likes holding on walking better than not.

DS1s report smacks of "should have been tested for dyslexia by now" actually, but it's very harsh and hard to cope with.

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 21:40

apparently they say dada more than mama because we as SAHMs talk about dada all the time during the day, but daddy isn't at home as much as we are to talk about mama. Shouldn't have been the case this time in our house

foxythesnowfox · 23/05/2008 21:41

So sorry Ria. Is he going to be tested?

lackaDAISYcal · 23/05/2008 21:42

looks good Ria. We might give it a try if we have a rainy day when we are in Staithes. I promise I won't say anything to DH

lackaDAISYcal · 23/05/2008 21:45

Ria, I thought the school were being more proactive about his dyslexia and that they realised he had problems. you'd think the report would have taken this into consideration.

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 23/05/2008 21:51

DD doesn't really say much, dada, mumum, woof (directed at anything that moves) and mooo, which sounds a lot like woof, but isn't. She doesn't say anything else, but she pants like a puppy when she wants something and has started clicking her tongue

RiaButterflew · 23/05/2008 21:53

He wouldn't be bothered daisy, he loves you guys for keeping me sane. BTW, when I know when my sis is going back I'll try for a meet-up. (How did it go with your friend after not seeing her? I am dreading seeing sis, it's been 8 years and we mightnot have anything in common any more, esp as I stuggle with sis who lives here sometimes)

Am I really sad to be quite excited by the bread smell and want to keep looking at my loaf?

Foxy, the business of DS1s dyslexia has been going on too long. We were fobbed off with lazy for a couple of years then before Xmas his teacher said he'd wondered last time he taught DS. So they were arranging in-school tests with a teaching assistant who has done some courses At our last meeting we agreed to have him put on the SEN register so they could get proper tests done and we have heard no more. He was going to an extra literacy group and had started to show improvement, but this has stopped. The report says the improvement shown when he was doing the group has now stopped - I wonder why that is? He obviously needs help. sorry, but I reallt feel they've let him down (again). FFS it's a childs future at sake, not some fecking league table
