Here we go. I was too sick, sleepy and preoccupied with my weight to notice the old thread running out

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/05/2008 21:05

Who knows, Sputnik. She wasn't the only one though - 2 GPs at our surgery missed it as well, and they all had a look in both ears. TBH I don't really care now as long as she gets better.

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 07/05/2008 21:10

No worries sputnik, whenever you get a chance, you are doing me a favour after all.

Right, the Apprentice...

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/05/2008 21:21

OK, I'm worn out from looking after a poorly baby all day. So I'm off to bed. Night all.

Sputnik · 07/05/2008 21:49

Right, I am checking out for a week, as I'm off to sunny Wales.
Might get a chance to post but maybe not, so have a good week everyone

sputnik have a lovely time in wales the forecast is good

jammy hope you had a good night and the jamlet is a bit better this am

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 08/05/2008 09:43

Well the jamlet woke once last night and then slept until 5.45. Still has temperature but only 38.5. About to give 2nd dose of calpol today. Wouldn't take ABs this morning - got about half a dose in I think. But they are having some effect, on her bottom if nothing else. Have just changed 2nd green runny nappy this morning.

andiem · 08/05/2008 09:57

jammy glad she had a reasonable nights sleep yuk yuk to the green poo
the dose accounts for a bit that doesn't make it

RiaButterflew · 08/05/2008 12:30

morning.

sorry to hear the jamlet is poorly. hope things pick up soon.

I have been out buying plants again. I am going to finish my wild flower bank later. The very posh & expensive garden centre I went to (not our usual one) didn't sell wild garlic and told me to go and dig some up

andiem · 08/05/2008 13:01

I avae loads ria at the back of my flower beds do you want some

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 08/05/2008 15:55

Thanks Ria.

She's much perkier this afternoon, after sleeping all morning. Temp is still up but not as much, and we now have infant nurofen as well, so can alternate calpol and nurofen adn will do so until bedtime. I'm happy that she's more herslef, sitting up, playing with toys, smiling, clapping etc. But if still feverish tomorrow morning back to GP.

RiaButterflew · 08/05/2008 17:33

ooo yes please andiem, I will pay postage. I suppose it's not illegal to dig it up on your own property (I have SUCH a guilt complex!)

RiaButterflew · 08/05/2008 17:33

and whatever you would like for it too, sorry got carried away!

andiem · 08/05/2008 17:43

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 08/05/2008 18:51

had a really busy week, ellen is now walking everywhere and driving me crazy running the opposite way to her brother!

started baby signing with ellen today, signed up for a ten week course and really looking forward to the one on one time with her, she loved it and found the train journey just as much fun

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 08/05/2008 18:56

Evening all,

Had a lovely day here, lunch at a friends then sitting in her garden, four of us with our LOs.

Bit of shit for us though, looks like the clutch has gone on our car. Probably going to cost us £3-400 We really can't afford it. We have been trying desperately to pay off our debts and not increase them but this is going to set us back a few months. Can't see us ever being better off. Nearly every penny is accounted for in this house (flat). It's so depressing. We are going to be working part time for the foreseeable future, then just as we go back to working full time I expect we will have another baby. I know that's our choice, but we can't wait forever when DH is already 42. Just can't see how to get out of this rut

Sorry, just feeling a bit miserable over money. It's not like I have bad job either. We just both accrued debts, not from anything extravagant, just from living when I was temping and from university. So much for getting an education to better yourself. What good is a good job if you spend the first 10 years paying off debts (and that doesn't even include the 12k student loan from the government).

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 08/05/2008 18:59

know how u feel bumper, i know its hard we have alot of debts ourselves from DH being at uni, and im off to college september, then uni next year so it is only going to get worse

RiaButterflew · 08/05/2008 19:14

bumper. I know how you feel too (even without an education), it's crap when money is tight. I had to give up the caravans as it aggrevated my sciatica and I was geting up the day after work and couldn't get up/lift baggins. I haven't found anything else yet. There is a publishing job advertised locally, but I haven't used a Mac or done anything more than newsletters and stuff at home for over 10 years, I think I might be a bit out of touch

DH ia going out tonight to see if there's any jobs in the village pubs/catch up on gossip that might put him ahead of the game.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 08/05/2008 19:16

Having said about how good the jamlet is at going to sleep at night ... Well tonight she's now I can hear her crying now and am torn between going up and waiting a bit longer to see if she'll settle herself.

Sorry about the car Bumper, and about money issues in general.

RiaButterflew · 08/05/2008 19:21

Has everyone else got truly glorious weather?

I had to come inside yesterday as I was too hot! (Bumper into FIL at our local nurseries - he was over here on work but was buying his plants here, apparently it's so cheap here that people come over from the West Riding and buy them to sell on at car boot sales He seemed embarrassed to see me - and so he should cos I bet he wasn't going to visit us really, as it was he came for lunch - the 4th time in 12 years!)

DH is getting on fabulously with the garden, he has dug all the evil weed out of his rockery/water garden. I am glad he has finished the major digging as my friend made a really bitchy comment last week about how come he could dig when he can't mash potato (I would rather his arm went at home digging than at work whilst holding a massive pan of hot soup...). No doubt he will be groaning and useless tomorrow though

Sorry, long post, I'm bored!

RiaButterflew · 08/05/2008 19:21

sorry bumper, bumped

andiem · 08/05/2008 19:24

we have a beautiful evening too ria dh has just cut the grass and a just waiting for our tea to cook

jammy hope jamlet settles and has a good night

RiaButterflew · 08/05/2008 19:29

It's too nice to put the kids to bed. DH is just filling up the water butt with our bathwater using a hoepipe and gravity. If he makes a mess in the bedrooms I'll kill him

If the kids go to sleep I could go and put my bark down...

I planted out my pumpkins and sweetcorn yesterday - gardening is addictive!

Is daisy OK? She FBed me last week.

RiaButterflew · 08/05/2008 19:32

andie & natty, I have just sent you a FB friend request - I didn't know we weren't!

Izzybel · 08/05/2008 20:51

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well and the weather is lovely and sunny where you all are

Jammy, so sorry to hear that the jamlet hasn't been well . Glad they finally found out what was wrong!

Ria, your garden sounds fab! Can you come round here and sort mine out please?

Bumper, sorry about the money issues and the car.

Natty, glad Ellen enjoyed her train journey sounds like you've got your hands full with two little ones running around!

Well, I am totally loving the gorgeous weather we have been having here! DD, however, is not! She has been a right cranky little so and so the past couple of days. The other night she screamed so much that I thought that she was ill, but I have come to realise that it has just been the heat she has been ok today though as I have kept her very cool indoors. I think that she has inherited daddy's "I hate the heat gene!"

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 08/05/2008 20:58

yeah i know what you mean izzy, ellen has been the same since the weather heated up, today she wanted to be carried she was too hot in her pushchair!

right im off to watch doctor who then go to sleep

night!
