Here we go. I was too sick, sleepy and preoccupied with my weight to notice the old thread running out

Yeah that would be good. maybe have a break from the outlet village. shopping is depressing with no money!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/05/2008 18:05

www.cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk/index.php any good?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/05/2008 18:05

Sorry www.cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk/index.php

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 05/05/2008 18:08

Good idea, the only thing is that DH and I have been meaning to take DD their ourselves, I know he would be disappointed if I took her on my own. Any other options? What towns are between us?

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 05/05/2008 18:09

Oooh, what about here?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/05/2008 18:18

Looks good Bumper. Sure that's not too far for you to coem though?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/05/2008 18:38

Or swimming somewhere?

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 05/05/2008 18:40

It is quite far, but there aren't many places in between. there are a few soft play areas in swindon, but this one looks quite nice.

I'll try and find out what else there is to do with bubbas in swindon.

foxythesnowfox · 05/05/2008 20:22

oooh, hello again

had a lovely day, took the kids to the park, played footy, came back and had a wee barbie. First of the season. Can't wait to get my new garden furniture and while away hours in the garden. I love days like this - roll on the summer hols!

How's everyone else?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/05/2008 20:27

Hi Foxy.
I'm overheated, and a bit fed up that we didn't really do anything today. Still I have my baby free day to look forward to tomorrow, so I can do plenty then

LittleMissNorty · 06/05/2008 09:08

Blimey - only just realised there is anew thread and now I'm at work and no time to catch up

Later ladies x

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/05/2008 10:57

Well I'm not at work but DD is at nursery That means I've got the day to myself. I can do whatever I jolly well like! So i have been for a lovely 6 mile walk across country - a route I used to do semi-regularly and really loved. It was glorious on a sunny morning, walking high up on a ridge (well OK the getting up there bit was painful ) looking at fields and farms all around. Does wonders for my soul And off to the hairdressers in a bit - still not sure what colour to have though!

Sputnik · 06/05/2008 13:27

Jammy, great that you got some time to yourself and a good walk in

We're sort of breathing again here, as DD is back at preschool, the baby is much better (albeit after sreaming inconsolably for an hour during the night), and I managed to catch up with some stuff I needed to do out in the real world. I am feeling better too despite a terrible run of bad nights.

Actually re the sreaming inconsolably at night, does anyone else's do that. It's odd because Baby Sputnik is so happy most of the time but occasionally he does this, and there's really nothing we can do to calm him down. It can go on for up to an hour. I seem to remember DD was grumpier in general, but coud usually be calmed down with a bf.

andiem · 06/05/2008 15:29

sputnik mine is the same if I don't get to him quickly enough in the night he has the screaming ab dabs and nothing will stop him crying he is a very happy soul in the day too.
I am desperate to stop feeding at night so we are biting the bullet at the weekend and dh is going in with water wish me luck

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/05/2008 15:44

I got back from town (with plummy hair) and found DH & the jamlet here. She'd slept all morning at nursery (she normally only naps half an hour) and they'd called DH after lunch because she had a high temp & was rather floppy. She was asleep on his lap looking very unwell when I got in, but woke when we checked her temp and had a BF (hadn't eaten or taken milk at nursery) and she has perked up a little since. In the meantime we've rung the gp and have an appointment in half an hour.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/05/2008 17:01

Well by the time the GP appointment came round she's gone from being a poorly looking girl to a chirpy one He says viral infection, so the usual advice of calpol, fluids, check temperature, etc. But can't rule out chicken pox (we saw a friend with it last week) so keep an eye our for rashes, blisters etc.

andiem · 06/05/2008 19:06

jammy is often the way with little ones they perk up very quickly hope her recovery lasts
plummy hair sounds fab btw

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/05/2008 20:04

Thanks Andiem. She had a bit of tea: a rice cake and some yoghurt. And then she had a BF and a huge nap, after which she seemed much happier. But bathtime wore her out so it was calpol and bed. I've had to go up and settle her as she was quite upset - took ages as she kept opening an eye to check if I was still there, but eventually she gave in and went to sleep properly.

She was funny earlier though, we were playing "this little piggy" while DH ran the bath and she's got so she anticipates the "wee wee wee" bit and starts giggling when I say "and this little piggy"

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 06/05/2008 20:07

Hello, not caught up yet but can anyone help me?

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 06/05/2008 20:14

Jammy, hope DD is ok tomorrow.

DD has started saying "mooooo" except it is more like "booooo" but she is having a go!

Foxy, so jealous of your BBQ, really feeling gutted we no longer have a garden. We have go lots of parks here but no good in the evening when DD has to go to bed. Would love to be able to eat dinner outside, or sit out with a glass of wine...

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/05/2008 20:16

Thanks Bumper, so do I. Had made plans for a friend and hwe DS to join us at the group we go to, have had to warn her we might not make it.

LittleMissNorty · 06/05/2008 20:21

Hi everyone.

Jammy, hope she's ok in the morning......

We just had a nice BBQ...chicken marinated in mango and sweet chilli, salad and potatoe wedges...mmmmmmm

Right, should be working!!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/05/2008 20:27

Mmmmm, that chicken sounds nice.
I was going to make lasagne, seeing as I had the afternoon to myself. But when DH & the Jamlet came home early, and I had to take her to the doc etc, that idea went by the wayside. So we are having sausages instead

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 06/05/2008 20:42

DH has screwed around with the broadband so really slow, so I'm of for the night. Take care all x

Sputnik · 06/05/2008 21:23

Glad the Jamlet is loking better. Bumper, sorry can't help on the thrush.

Good luck for the weekend Andiem

Anyone else got any feedback on night time screaming abdabs?
