Here we go. I was too sick, sleepy and preoccupied with my weight to notice the old thread running out

LOL I'm a pikey too then Holly!!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 21/05/2008 13:05

Farking hell your boys are big! I've just looked in ds's red book and 13kg is 28lb 10oz! Blimey! My ds was 25lb 2oz 3 weeks ago, so he's a bit of a whopper too, I think my boobs produce liquid butter!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 21/05/2008 13:06

Afternoon all!

Happy birthday to your DD Holly. Hope she enjoyed preschool in the end.

I am being a bit of a bad mummy now, as I've turned CBeebies on to entertain the jamlet. But I don't do it very often.

I just got turned down for giving blood as I'd had a stomach upset this week. But all the nurses etc got boody looking at the jamlet asleep in her pushchair

I totally agree about the 12 month switch. I've inadvertantly given her honey (she had some of my breakfast cereal one day and I didn't check the ingredients) already and now while i won't go out of my way to give it to her, if we're having something with honey I won't worry about giving her a little.

Hey it's the 21st century you guys

Happy birthday to Alice! I'm sure she'll cheer up. For what it's worth my DD has been in tears at dropping off time since easter, no idea why as she's had years of nursery/preschool no probs. Anyway, she's all smiles when I pick her up.

10kg for the jamlet a couple ofweeks back

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 21/05/2008 13:17

Just spoke to dp and dd is fine. She had a few tears and dropped her biscuits, but she is ok! I always worry about her at pre school, she is so shy and sweet natured and I just wish I could be there with her all the time!

I don't get the 12 month switch thing either. Ds has had honey from about 6 months. Why do some people thing that babies change on their first birthdays? A friend of mine told me she stopped bfing her ds on his first birthday because he didn't need it anymore! Why does a baby of 11 months 3 weeks and 6 days need bmilk and a baby of 12 months exactly not?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 21/05/2008 13:18

I didn't mean 6 months, as that's when I weaned him! I meant 9 months!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 21/05/2008 14:47

Why is it that I have just had 2 hours to myself (ds has been asleep) and I have done NOTHING?! I was going to do loads of housework and tidying, but all I have managed to do is lie on the sofa and cuddle sleeping ds and eat all the left over icing from dd's cake (I feel sick now)!

Oh well, I live in a shithole. Who cares?!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 21/05/2008 14:49

I'm on the sofa cuddling sleeping DD Holly

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 21/05/2008 14:53

Good one jammy! It is so lovely just to snuggle when they are asleep isn't it? When I try and cuddle ds when he is awake I either get my hair pulled and my face slapped or he tries to kiss me and slobbers in my mouth and all over my nose! He is very loving, bless him, but I do draw the line at sharing spit!

RiaButterflew · 21/05/2008 14:54

I wish I was snuggled up cuddling a sleeping something. I have cleaned my conservatory. baggins is throwing the ballpool balls over the living room now, and I don't dare go in the kitchen

RiaButterflew · 21/05/2008 14:56

bugger, ds2 is playing playmobil in the conservatory. I might as well have not bothered.

Hope you have a lovely birthday tea holly. big hugs to DD.

foxythesnowfox · 21/05/2008 15:03

How odd! DD didn't want to go to ballet either. We had tears, screaming and RAGE. She's never complained about nursery/ballet anything like that before.

Must be something in the air

Well done on the housework everyone. Holly, the reason you sat still for two hours is because you don't normally!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 21/05/2008 15:05

She is so lovely to snuggle, and even better when she's not squirming and trying to chew my glasses. Just wish I'd known she was going to sleep so long as I'd have put Waking the Dead on

RiaButterflew · 21/05/2008 15:07

'tis very strange without DH, and I am starving.

I wonder if one tidy room is enough?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 21/05/2008 15:32

Can't believe she's slept 2 hours - she almost never does that! Plus 45 mins before lunch. Teething must be hard work.

RiaButterflew · 21/05/2008 19:43

it's gone quiet tonight

LittleMissNorty · 21/05/2008 20:12

Evening ...i'm sort of around....more farking football

Oh good - someone has scored - doesn't matter who for - means I might get to see the apprentice tonight

foxythesnowfox · 21/05/2008 20:16

we're all watching the footy Ria

LittleMissNorty · 21/05/2008 20:20

farking hell....I'm not!

Who are your lot supporting then Foxy (as City supporters).....my DH is very reluctantly supporting Utd!!

foxythesnowfox · 21/05/2008 20:22

God no! Tell him he's a traitor - there's no excuse for that (apparently).

Chelsea here. They are local after all.

LittleMissNorty · 21/05/2008 20:25

Well quite - but apparently its cos Alex Ferguson has put together a skilled team and the other one has just gone and bought his team....FGS listen to me talking football....I have no idea what I'm talking about

DD has gone to bed wearing her Man City Angel vest tonight

Hows DD2? Is she any better?

Izzybel · 21/05/2008 20:30

Boo! Hate football coz it means that they always cancel corrie!

Evening everyone
Happy Birthday to Alice! Hope she had a lovely day and had fun at nursery afterall.

Re: the 12 month switch, I completely agree. If you ask my health visitor, her answer to everything is "twelve months!"
"When can I stop sterilizing?"
"12 months"
"When can I just give tap water, instead of boiled?"
"12 months"
"When can they eat prawns?"
"12 months"

AAARRGH!

LittleMissNorty · 21/05/2008 20:31

Evening Izzy.....

As far as I'm concerned, they are close enough to 12 months for me - I've moved to cows milk and she seems fine

Izzybel · 21/05/2008 20:38

Yeah I think that too. I've started giving ordinary tap water , as I'm such a rebel although she's been drinking bath and swimming pool water for almost a year so why HV says 12 months is beyond me (batty woman.)

Norty, when you give cows milk, do you warm it up or do you give it straight from the fridge?
