Here we go. I was too sick, sleepy and preoccupied with my weight to notice the old thread running out

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh dear jammy, hope you are ok. Maybe have some dry toast and a glass of lemonade or coke. I hate feeling like that, mainly because I get so hungry!

Dd has been going to pre-school for 4 weeks now and no-one has spoken to me in the playground yet!

Seansgirlthesequel · 19/05/2008 20:33

Kinda get used to it Holly, not bothered unless he is keeping me awake! No not watching Dispatches am on BBC3 (tho not exactly watching) will be watching Waking the DEad in a bit. Whats on Dispatches?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/05/2008 20:36

That's the odd thing Holly, I am normally ravenous but since mid afternoon yesterday when I started feeling unwell I haven't fancied eating anything. I didn't have any tea last night, and had some bread & honey at lunchtime today because I was so washed out I wondered if I needed something for energy. That did perk me up somewhat and so I thought I'd try a little tea tonight, but didn't really fancy it tbh.

Seansgirlthesequel · 19/05/2008 20:36

Holly, don't worry I didn't really speak to anyone at DDs Nrsery/pre school. Have made an effort to talk to alot of the other mums at reception though, and have found one friend that I get on pretty well with.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/05/2008 20:36

Funnily enough my dd was a worse sleeper too. At least ds will go back to sleep again after a quick feed. Dd used to wake up and start screaming or wanting to play! Glad things are getting better for you. I want one of those side sleeper thingys then I wouldn't have to sleep all squashed up on one side! I keep entering comps to win one, but no luck so far!

Seansgirlthesequel · 19/05/2008 20:37

Can you face sugarey tea Jammy?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/05/2008 20:37

Dispatches is about fundamental Christians. It is making me cross, but I can't stop watching!

andiem · 19/05/2008 20:38

ds2 is still waking 2/3 time a night and feeding

jammy i keep out of it I have particular friends but am not in a clique it is the best way I think I have made some good friends though and we have a laugh and help each other out with party runs etc

Seansgirlthesequel · 19/05/2008 20:41

Talking of parties thats a whole new ball game too - in reception they seem to all have parties and invite everyone. I have sat through alot of parties since sept, its a long 2 hours believe me!

RiaButterflew · 19/05/2008 20:41

we are watching Indiana Jones from last night and DS1 ought to be in bed, but DH has said he can...

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/05/2008 20:44

I feel bad because it's dd's birthday on weds and we are not having a party. I don't have anyone to invite!

RiaButterflew · 19/05/2008 20:44

I hate parties, party games are especially evil. When I do pass the parcel I always have a little individually wrapped gift for each child in the middle insteadof one winner (can you tell I was always the kids who didn't win anything). I only do partied for family/a couple of very close friends. Couldn't manage it for the whole class.

Am tempted to watch the Duchess of York in Hull...

andiem · 19/05/2008 20:45

sg in reception lots of people invite all the class but by year 3 we are down to 10 to 15

RiaButterflew · 19/05/2008 20:45

Invite the GPs and do party games with them holly. No need for friends in our house (thank goodness, I think it's people that cause all my problems)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/05/2008 20:45

DH is playing a Mario racing game on his Wii. I keep hearing "stupid cheating fucker" and the like being shouted at the screen!

RiaButterflew · 19/05/2008 20:47

ahh, kids

andiem · 19/05/2008 20:47

britain's next top model for me

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/05/2008 20:48

My parents are taking us for dinner at a nice pub, so that should be nice. I'm going to make her a cake tomorrow, a Peppa Pig one, and take it with us, so we'll have a good time anyway!

Seansgirlthesequel · 19/05/2008 20:50

We only ever invuted GPs and family until DDs 4th birthday Holly. Make the Gps pass the parcel and pin the tale on the donkey! And I'm sure they'd love to eat jelly and icecream!

glad you said that andi, am well fed up of buying multiple presents for a £5! it soon adds up! and not that any of them need anything else! and blardy party bags! grr!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/05/2008 20:51

Sounds nice Holly.

GPs live to far away really to ask them round for birthday tea, so we asked some friends but they can't come, DH said we could have a little party just the 3 of us, but I'm keen to have someone else round, so i think I will ask a couple of mum chums and their LOs. Only a couple though.

andiem · 19/05/2008 20:59

we have both boys parties one weekend after the other
ds2 is first and we are having a bbq for family and god parents
ds2 is having a mad science party he had this last year and we paid for it as ds2 was only a week old but dh is going to be the scientist this year we have planned the experiments and he is really looking forward to it
we got all the experiments from the new scientist how to fossilise your hamster book

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 19/05/2008 21:06

Science experiments sound cool! What are you planning to do?

lackaDAISYcal · 19/05/2008 21:12

hellloooooo. super duper busy day here. I am i full spring cleaning mode and have scrubbed the bathroom from top to bottom, washed the covers on both sofas, hoovered the hall and stairs and planted up four planters with lovely pansies, busy lizzies, lobelia and dahlia.....and done another three loads of washing, and went to Water Babies this morning....am fecking knackered.

jammy, i hope you;re feeling a bit better. is it a bug, or something you ate at the wedding?

ria, you sound like you've had a busy day too.

No school politics here; can't be arsed with it all, and have neither the time nor inclination for the PiTA, but I do like to raise an eyebrow at the mum's who are persistently late. I do feel sorry for DSs class a bit though. There is a weekly competition for full attendance, and the class that wins gets to have a non-uniform day. DSs class will never make it as there is one little boy in DSs class who only ever makes three or four days out of five, and looking at the attendance chart hasn't managed a full week....ever.

bumper, it would be lovely to meet, but Friday is pretty hopeless for me . I have friends staying till Friday morning (at least I hope they are leaving on Friday), it's a training day at school so DS is about and it's his birthday party at teatime and I have to drive out to BILs to collect our niece who is staying with us overnight.

We are having a BBQ for DDs birthday (weather permitting) for DHs family and a few close friends, plus a couple of our neighbours. There will be a few kiddies there, and only one of DDs baby friends, but that's only cos he's our friends son. I don't feel as though I know the mums from toddlers well enough to invite them here yet.

phew.......

foxythesnowfox · 19/05/2008 21:19

Bloody hell Daisy

RiaButterflew · 19/05/2008 21:25

I can't decide whether it's massive respect to Fergie for doing this, or .

Respect I think. But why there?
