Here we go. I was too sick, sleepy and preoccupied with my weight to notice the old thread running out

When they thought I had appendicitis, they tried to take some blood and the doctor told me I had crap veins - his exact words. Not what you want to hear when you're writhing in pain

lackaDAISYcal · 16/05/2008 20:35

jammy, I think the "woohoo" and the psychadelic music would give away it;s a kiddies toy!

chinese has arrived. I'm off to scoff!

Sputnik · 16/05/2008 20:40

Evening all. Feeling a bit frazzled here too, my relaxed feeling from going away lasted about 24 hours. Baby grumpy, DD still has sore throat/funny tummy/tiredness, 3 weeks since she got ill. She's had 2 tests for strep throat but both negative. Anyway, she has been whingy and cries when the baby cries, so he cries more etc etc. Oh we had such fun at teatime. Plus he's suddenly much more mobile and she gets annoyed when he plays with something he shouldn't (according to her). Anyway glass of wine no.2 here.

OK, mummy is required for bedtime coup de grace here, check you later....

Hi Sputnik, sorry your LOs are playing up. Hope DD gets better soon. Maybe hear more from you later?

FrazzledFairyFay · 16/05/2008 21:01

for sputnik

RiaButterflew · 16/05/2008 21:01

of chicken fried rice and chips, though I would prefer satay sauce...

we had a bloody smoky nasty BBQ for tea. Not my favourite thing, esp when it's cold. (We ate in the kitchen). DH had fancy fish and venison burgers with his chicken leg, ribs and sausage. I don't like those things so I didn't. It was a disappointing tea for me.

Am off for a bath with my Katie Fforde book...

foxythesnowfox · 16/05/2008 21:07

Poor Sputnik - its always at teatime isn't it? Have a third glass, you deserve it.

Enjoy your bath Ria, I hate the thought of a crappy tea. I'd spend the rest of the evening eating to compensate for it personally.

Sputnik · 16/05/2008 21:14

Good plan Foxy I'm thinkinging about strawberries, honey and greek yogurt in a bit.

Thanks everyone. I sort of lost it earlier and banged the table very hard (cue more tears). Bumper take note.

Where is Fury btw?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/05/2008 21:20

Good point. Where is Fury?

OK I've just remembered we're going to a wedding tomorrow and I need to make a card. Much easier to do it tonight when there are no little fingers to get into my craft box! So I'd better be off.

lackaDAISYcal · 16/05/2008 21:23

We all do things like that; I grabbed DS by the scruff of his pj.s the other morning and screamed at him "will you, just for once, know when to shut up and not answer me back of have to say the last word" . he was quaking in fear

being a SAHM is so very hard sometimes isn't it?

I hope DD gets better soon sputnik.

Ria, sorry you didn't enjoy your tea. I always eat more after a meal like that. If I haven't enjoyed it, I just don't feel full.

DH and I are on our respective laptops this evening. Should I e-mail him and ask him to put the kettle on?

lackaDAISYcal · 16/05/2008 21:24

fury posted some new photos on FB the other day, so she is around.

I miss her wry outlook on life!

FrazzledFairyFay · 16/05/2008 21:25

I was wondering about Fury too. She's been about on fb, putting up some new pics, but she doesn't seem to have been here for ages.

FrazzledFairyFay · 16/05/2008 21:25

Fury, if you are lurking.... come back!

RiaButterflew · 16/05/2008 21:50

I fully intend to eat something else very soon

lackaDAISYcal · 16/05/2008 22:05

I'm off to bed. DH home so I get a lie in tomorrow morning....yay

Sputnik · 16/05/2008 22:40

Just messaged Fury and had a quick look at some Facebook photos, our los are coming on nicely eh?
Love your family photo Ria.
Is it just me that finds fb incredibly slow though?

Night night

they really are miserable buggers sputnik, it's not just a bad photo

Well done jbm for not being "boring and mainstream" and getting the tip of the day

So, Saturday. DS1 at tennis, DS2 just banged his toe because he is clumsy and runs everywhere without looking where he's going and he is yelling his head off. No doubt the little poo-depositer will be round soon - she was sat on the doorstep last night when we came back from the farm shop.

Baggins obviously doesn't know what to do so he is yerlling too.

I love my life

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/05/2008 09:31

Morning ria. We have a family photo of my parents, my brother and me (I guess my sister must have taken it?) and we all look as miserable as sin (though surely some sins must be fun?), so it's not just your family. Yet we were having a great day out, honest!

I went for a swim earlier And we are off at lunchtime for a family wedding down in Kent this afternoon. I think that a lot of relatives who haven't met the jamlet yet will be there, so no doubt she'll get plenty of attention.

lackaDAISYcal · 17/05/2008 10:44

well done on the tip of the day jbm......very seasonal

DD is being a right ole whinge today, especially if she isn't getting her own way. Her skin nastiness has gone to new heights and she has scratched all the nape of her neck and at the back of her ears and it's raw and bleeding. I tied the scratch mitts on her that holly kindly sent me, and she just pulled them off with her teeth . Not sure how I can stop her scratching at it. Have tried hydrocortisone cream and E45 itch relief cream but she's still clawing at herself . I hope she isn't going to have a lifetime of eczema problems.

lackaDAISYcal · 17/05/2008 10:44

enjoy the wedding jammy. I love a good old family get together.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 17/05/2008 10:56

I have vague memories of bleeding at the back of my ears and knees as a child due to eczema but thankfully grew out of it (I don't think it was a problem beyond about 4 or 5). I now have a little bit on my forehead, but it doesn't necessarily mean a lifetime of problems

lackaDAISYcal · 17/05/2008 12:01

saw this thread earlier, and ummed and ahhed, went for it, and we have a weekend at Pontins nr Gt Yarmouth on 27th June for £40!

there are still some freebies left, use code PW28, if anyone is interested

now to get DS out of school for the Friday and Monday

RiaButterflew · 17/05/2008 12:05

my boys have all had evil eczema as babies, the other two grew out of it by 4/5 and only occasionally get a little bit now/DS2 goes a bit sandpapery, but not red burn-like patches like baggins has now.

justbeme · 17/05/2008 13:26

Woohoo! That tip won DD1 some Nintendo DS games!! Thats the 2nd MN comp I've won!!
Yay!!
Hope the weather is better for you all than it is here (rain).
