Here we go. I was too sick, sleepy and preoccupied with my weight to notice the old thread running out

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/05/2008 15:46

I bought GH the other month. It used to be Glamour.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/05/2008 15:49

Spesking of glamour, I thought Fury looked very glam in the photos on FB of her mum's 60th. Was quite . I said to DH "why don't I ever look glamourous like that?". Did I get a reassuring "you do sometimes" (even if it would have been a lie)? No, I got "I don't know. Why don't you look as glamourous as that?"

So hints please - we are going to a family wedding this Saturday. I can't afford anything new so it'll be an existing skirt and top (black skirt with purple flowers and purple 3/4 sleeve top). But remind me, how do I make myself look fab?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/05/2008 15:51

Of course, they'll all be more interested in the jamlet () but it might be nice to try, don't you think?

lackaDAISYcal · 14/05/2008 16:01

bugger DD...i just did a long post and she pressed something on the keyboard and pooof, it;s gone. she does it all the time and I don't even know which button it is, or whether there is a way I can undo it.

anyhoo.....we did the hat thing last week in the park, and although it's DDs hat, I bought it for 25p in a charity shop and it has the original owner's name written in it so it looks like I've nicked it anyway

foxy, I used to like reading the pappy short stories in The People;s Friend. My mum used to post me hers when she was done with it . I can't quite bring myself to subscribe to something that has adverts for mobility aids and incontinence pants in the small ads though

Ds is having another strop......all because there is a spider in one of his tractor toys that have lain out in the sandpit all winter. He has gone up to his room in a stroppy huff. He's bloody impossible at the minute. foxy, tell me this is normal for a nearly 6 year old, please!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/05/2008 16:08

My Mum gets the People's Friend. Or at least I think one of my aunts does and it gets passed round. I browse it when I'm visiting but also could never bring myself to buy it. Similarly, I vow that I'll never have a tartan (or any other pattern for that matter) pull-along shopping trolley.

lackaDAISYcal · 14/05/2008 16:30

shopping trolleys are de-riguer in Belgium dontchaknow...and they sell them in IKEA as well now.

If you change your mind though, you'd want to buy a "Sholley", they are the Rolls' Royce of shopping trolleys.........apparently

RiaButterflew · 14/05/2008 17:40

'tis perfectly normal daisy.

I thought fury looked glam too, and that the family look very alike. When my family are all together I'll post a pic of us all and you'll be able to see how similar we are in the podgy stakes! People always look miserable on our photos!

lackaDAISYcal · 14/05/2008 18:37

that's what worries me Ria....i reckon he'll grow out of it when he's 18

He was sent to bed early tonight as I'd just had enough of him, then I got a tirade about how hard done by he is and everyone hurts him, either beats him up....me (he gets the odd clip around the ear ), his school friends, DD , or is mean to him......me, his school friends, DH, his GPs, DD. But he won't talk to me about anything specific that is bothering him. And his upcoming birthday party seems to be causing more angst than anything. He wanted to invite one boy, but not that boy's best friend, as he says he is mean. I'm now wondering whether he is getting grief from the boy who wasn't invited . i try to be patient with him, but by the end of the day I'm frazzled and just can't cope with it and end up shouting again.

sorry for the rant.....again!

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 14/05/2008 19:42

well hullo ladies.. anyone about?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/05/2008 21:20

I'm here now, having been working this evening, but I guess anyone who was has gone?

lackaDAISYcal · 14/05/2008 21:21

I'm here

drooling at all the lovely frocks on The Apprentice.....although some of them are a bit

FrazzledFairyFay · 14/05/2008 21:26

I'm here too

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/05/2008 21:28

Dh in engrossed in watching something on his laptop. i can't blame him, I've been working all night and he has to amuse himself. I prefer this to him shouting and swearing at Mario et al when racing (and losing) on the Wii

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/05/2008 21:31

What frocks have they got on the apprentice then? (never watch the show I'm afraid)

RiaButterflew · 14/05/2008 21:39

we are watching a fecking documentary on the bouncing bomb no pretty frocks for me.

It is very very very difficult to deal with stuff like that daisy. I am lucky in that if I can't get through to DS1 then my mum and dad can on most occasions. DS2 is a completely different kettle of fish and I feel grief coming in shedloads as he gets older. One important thing someone told me (probably my mum) was that however nasty/badly behaved/trying they are with you, it's because they feel safe enough to let go of their feelings with you. It's not much of a consolation, especially when you just want to clobber them!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/05/2008 21:42

That sounds like good advice Ria, although as you said not much consolation at the time

How are you anyway?

RiaButterflew · 14/05/2008 21:52

I'm fine thanks jammy. not sleeping well because of my back so really lethargic at daytime. Also cross with myself because its onlt about 6 weeks til my sis gets here and I haven't lost weight/started spring cleaning. How are you doing?

I'm trying to find a tunic type shirt for the boys to wear at the christening because baggins will be wearing a striped tunic & white shorts a la la redoute.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/05/2008 21:59

I'm OK thanks Ria. Also not lost any weight but am getting back into my training program so there is hope yet! Plan for the next few days is for 3 fast miles tomorrow, half an hour's exercise of my choice on Saturday and 6 slower ones on Sunday.

No advice on tshirts for your boys I'm afraid. And now I must go to bed, so goodnight all.

RiaButterflew · 14/05/2008 22:00

this

lackaDAISYcal · 14/05/2008 22:58

oops too late, but the apprentice was all about weddings tonight and there were some lurvely frocks....but also sme right ole horrors.

night all.xx

lackaDAISYcal · 14/05/2008 23:04

ria, I got a nice one for DS in ASDA at the weekend....a £6 bargain too. He likes it cos the stripes go up and down on the front, but are like arrows diagonally up t a central seam on the back...if that makes any sense at all....

tried to find it on the website....but it is truly truly dire and crap.

RiaButterflew · 15/05/2008 09:56

silly question, but what do you all do with your LOs when you are in the garden? baggins plays in his "play cot" in the conservatory for a bit, and might sit in his buggy for a while, but it must be a bit boring for him.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/05/2008 10:16

Morning Ria!
Haven't been out all that much yet, but the idea is that when we've cleared up enough she can sit and play on the grass, but until then if one of us hasn't been able to look after her she's sat in the buggy

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 15/05/2008 10:26

Morning all

Sorry I haven't been around much. I don't really like to spend too much time on here when I have been at work all day.

DD is currently yelling in her cot, she already had a very short nap this morning but she just lay down on my chest and has been whinging so I put her back. Scratch that. She refused to go down. She is very whingy this morning. She still has a cough and cold after the ABs

I went to a burlesque workshop last night, it was really good except I was the only one who didn't know anyone else, the rest were a big group who nearly all knew each other. Plus they were all v posh and sucessful (yes, I started up my own little business in personal shopping) and about 10 years older than me. Very lovely though. I was also the fattest one there Anyway, it was pretty cool, although I broke a nail and nearly gave myself a hernia trying to get into my basque!

Just made these for DD - they are yummy!

foxythesnowfox · 15/05/2008 11:39

Do you supply your own basque Bumper, or do they?

And what about when you got back? [nudge] [nudge]

Am bloody impressed actually. I'd never have the nerve.
