Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 11:15

please give it a bump for me foxy, no-one has posted yet. Right, I must go and do something. Back later, I'm sure. Have good days everyne.

foxythesnowfox · 19/04/2008 11:27

Can you link it please? Can't find it.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/04/2008 11:34

Morning everyone!

Next do some fabbo skinny jeans if you want something quite smart, they are only £20. I have 2 pairs and they are not too skinny and sort of make my arse look normal sized, not mahoosive, like most jeans!

Good to see you natty. Hope dh's hand is ok. I personally wouldn't go for the smart nappies. I had a look at them yesterday, funnily enough, and they are just like regular prefolds. I have tried prefolds and found them not very absorbant and quite fiddly. A bit of a waste of time really. If you want something easy to use and absorbant then you are probably best off with a pocket, like Wonderoos or Fuzzi Bunz. You can get old style Fuzzi quite cheaply here.

Well done SG! What a breakthrough, hope it carries on! Send some of your sleeping through the night vibes this way please!!

Hope everyone else is well, my dcs are screaming at me and dp can't possibly help. Soccer am is on, doncha know?!

lackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2008 11:36

morning

I have typed two hoooooge posts this morning; the first one DD grabbed the laptop and it disappeared. I typed it all in again, and our internet connection crashed when I hit post.

so I'll kepp it short and sweet this time!

lackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2008 11:45

fairy the top looks fab

would a pair of smart black trousers be too boring?

hey holly . Natty I'm a big fan of fuzzibunz here, but they don't suit all babies. I didn't realise the mothercare ones were prefolds. I'm not a fan of those, but some people swear by them. You can always buy one outer and a pack of two pads to see how you get on with them. That'll only set you back £11 initially

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/04/2008 11:49

Hey daisy! (mwah) I agree with you about the Fuzzis. I had some really old style ones and they leaked like buggery on my ds and dd, but the newer ones are fab, I can get them to go all night, no probs.

How are you? How's the sickness?

We are going to wallpaper dd's room in a sec. Hopefully we can just paper on top of the existing paper, I really don't want to be stripping walls today!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 19/04/2008 11:51

I do love that top fairy! It is beautiful!

lackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2008 11:55

andie, sorry to hear your DH is off again . It is bloody hard on your own.

well done baby "ja" on his sleep filled night; long may it continue. DD is back to her normal routine thankfully, and woke up at 5:15 had a quick feed, then went back to sleep. Unfortunately I was awake from 3 (with horribly itchy feet???) until after she went back down at 5:40 .

andiem · 19/04/2008 11:59

been tidying up ladies I am fine just feeling knackered after 2 weeks on my own with dcs and then the prospect of another 2 weeks when dh goes to aus

he rang me from vegas last night to tell me he had been to dinner at the venetian and was now having drinks in the bellagio I hope he comes back tomorrow with some nice pressies
we had a lovely time in cornwall stayed with my oldest and closest friend but boy that long drive is hard on your own

fairy that top is gorgeous I think with dark jeans and heels it would look fab especially with your colouring

off to do more tidying have a spring cleaning urge upon me

lackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2008 14:35

am I the only person not having a real life today

Am still in my pam jams on the sofa.

DH has been despatched to the shops to get the makings for his house special salad nicoise for tea, DD fast alseep and DS watching a thing about the World's deadliest creatures on Nat Geo Wild.

I've had an email from a lovely lady who I hope will be my doula. I'm meeting her next week and am v v excited. She is on the local maternity services liaison committee so hopefully will have lots of info for me on hospital VBA2C policy

foxythesnowfox · 19/04/2008 15:28

Hey Daisy! Am too still in PJs (well, actually I had a shower and put clean ones on. Will save time later - I am officially ahead of the game )

Great about the doula! I'm really impressed that you are doing so much that is positive, when at times it is such hard going. You are doing really well, but I know it doesn't always feel like it. Here, have a custard doughnut.

lackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2008 15:35

cheers foxy I love virtual food. I can eat all the gluten I like and not have to worry about the fallout!!!

LOL at the clean pjs. I think I'll be doing that for later. DD still asleep and has been for about two hours now! DS leabving me pretty much in peace, DH in the kitchen prepping tea and our packed lucnh for tomorrow's picnic. All is well with the world

I have even learned new things today watching educational TV. Did you know that black panthers are actually leopards who suffer from a condition called melanism and are effectively all spot! well there you go.

foxythesnowfox · 19/04/2008 15:38

No Daisy. I did not know that.

Had a lovely gluten free alternative to coco pops. Dorset cereals chocolate stars, and no salt. Would heartily recommend

lackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2008 15:40

ooooh, no chocolate cereals allowed in this house! Tis my one and only element of proper alph mummyism!

foxythesnowfox · 19/04/2008 15:45

yes quite right too!

lackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2008 16:00

lol

We have no objection to sausage rolls and the odd MaccyD though

Strangely enough, DS prefers things like Weetabix Crunchy Bran and bran flakes . I bought cocopops once, when he was about 3 as his sugar laden cousins (literally; their baby teeth all had to be pulled out ) were coming to stay. He took one look at the bowl in front of him and said "Can I have some breakfast please mum"....bless him.

lackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2008 16:02

where has fairy gone? Her style thread is buzzing without her!

Riallyclean · 19/04/2008 16:05

Hi all, lots to catch up on. I have been busy making soup, catching up with the housework and supervising DH gardening with the boys. I have planted some stocks and californian poppies. I have some seeds to pot and propogate (ooh posh gardening word, I'm getting carried away) later. It's darned cold out there though. Might make spag bol for tea.

That top is gorgeous fairy.

Back later. Rx

lackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2008 18:45

lilkel......this thread might be useful to you. Maybe you could start a thread asking for moondog's advice re your DS?

salad nicoise was just luuuuurvely, nice plump olives and beautiful fresh tuna fish. DH has been a trouper. He has also made potato, bacon and broad bean salad for my picnic lunch tomorrow (as a sarnie alternative), plus there is a lamb shank casserole in the oven for our tea tomorrow when we get back

I should rent him out!

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 18:59

Oooh I'm back - had a day in bed, with my book. Was fabby! Is my thread buzzing? I'll just pop back and have a look. I think dark jeans are probably the thing, just need to find some. Thanks for the Next tip Holly, although I'm not sure my bum can stand skinny jeans

DKMA · 19/04/2008 19:16

Hellooooooooooo!
I'm back with my new hair!
And this dress!
Am very happy as it is a size 12 (and these sizes usually come up small on me)

kaniluja · 19/04/2008 19:21

FF believe me anyone can wear the skinnies Holly is talking about I have a pair and they look pretty ok, wouldn't dare to wear them unless my top covers my tummy area though. That top is gorgeous, i luuuurrrrvvee monsoon stuff, how about white skinnies and some of those killer heels GOK always gets out?

Checking out hoping for a quiet night, wafting some quiet night vibes to all esp Bumper and Holly too.

Hay Foxy, call me Sg its fine, am thinking of changing again anyway!

kaniluja · 19/04/2008 19:22

WOW DKMA! WOW! Am so envious of your size 12 figure! swoon!

kaniluja · 19/04/2008 19:23

We need a look at the hair or at least a very good description...........

lackaDAISYcal · 19/04/2008 19:27

DKMA, that dress is bloody fantastic. and wow at your size 12. That must make all your pain on the regain thread worth it!

You'll knock 'em dead. Be sure to post some photos!

oh, for a grown up night out

I haven't owned a pair of skinny jeams since I was 16. I wouldn't dare try and prize my fat arse into a pair......and as for leggings, no way I'd even look at them now.
