Well done kaniluja and sorry it didn't happen for you Bumper

So..... I have a day to myself today. DH and the DC's godfather have taken them to London Aquarium for the day and won't be back until 5.

I hadn't really thought about what to do as DS was really snotty this week so I had thought he'd be staying here with me, but he woke up this morning loads better so he has gone to see the fishes too. So what do i do today? I dream of having free time and now I have some, I don't know what to do with myself

DKMA · 19/04/2008 09:42

Morining!

Can anyone help me with this one?

Yehhhhh for SG!
Hang in there Bumper!
Fairy - hmm trying to think what you could do...........other than just enjoy the peace and quiet

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 09:44

I think that's what I might do - I quite fancy 'Saturday Kitchen', a cup of tea and some biscuits, with no littlies stealing the biscuits or begging for Beebies!

DKMA · 19/04/2008 09:45

Sounds like a great plan to me fairy!!!

NattyThomasandEllen · 19/04/2008 09:46

good morning ladies!

DKMA · 19/04/2008 09:46

Mornin Natty - great to have you back!

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 09:47

Hello Natty, great to 'see' you back

DKMA · 19/04/2008 09:49

Need to get in the shower - I'm going to the big smoke (well.....Manchester) to get my hair done and have a bit of a shop (for a dress for Wednesday night) I need to get my finger out!
Catch up later ladies!
Have great days

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 19/04/2008 09:49

No idea DKMA, i used to get between £10 and £5 a night 12 years ago! I'd say £5 an hour is fair - hell, if I lived nearby I'd do it for you for that!

Fairy I would:

Buy some papers and trashy mags, croissants and any other food that you can't eat when the DC's are around (coz they'll eat it!) and climb back into bed. Then later on have a bath with a face mask and everything, then maybe do a bit of shopping (actually being able to try on clothes). Ahhhh bliss! I can't imagine ever having days like that again. With DH and I only having one day off together there is lots of pressure to Do Stuff and Spend Quality Time Together.

I still have a cold and feel v sore and grouchy!

NattyThomasandEllen · 19/04/2008 09:49

ah i know u all missed me
ive just been crazy busy, we had thomas' 2nd birthday, plus DH has been in and out of hospital while they attempt to work out what wrong, so not wanting to offload my stress and bring u all down i stuck to lurking lol

is it said im really excited about buying my "real" nappies monday?

NattyThomasandEllen · 19/04/2008 09:50

woops meant sad

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 09:53

Natty, don't ever be wary of 'unloading' on here, the rest of us do it all the time . I hope they find out what's wrong with Dh soon, that must be really stressful.

Hmmm shopping, now that might be a plan. I'm going on a hen night next weekend and I really, really don't want to look all mumsy in the bar and club. Although I probably will feel like that anyway as we're going to a club where I spent lots of time when I was a student, which feels like many, many moons ago.

foxythesnowfox · 19/04/2008 10:30

Morning!

WHEEYYYYY-HHHEEEEYYYYYY SG! Blardy marvellous! (still can't get used to your new name, give me time....)

Hi Natty! Lovely to see you again. Hope DH gets some answers soon.

Me too FF! I'm off out next week and I don't want to wear jeans, and I don't want to be mumsie either. I'm thinking a pencil skirt and heels, but at 38 it might be too mutton and I'll end up looking ridiculous. Just because I saw it on Gok last week . Will probably end up in jeans anyway .

LO went to sleep in her own bed last night. I sat on the step where she couldn't see me and shushed when she shouted. Tonight will be more of the same, but I'll leave her for a while. I've decided to go wtih the 'shout it out' rather than CC. As far as I can tell its just a case of attending to them when they go into proper hysterics as opposed to just shouting and making noise.

DKMA I'll be your babysitter when I move up North and we are each others new best friends. I'll be around.

Because I'll be stalking you .

andiem · 19/04/2008 10:35

morning all have been in cornwall for a few days with the dcs drove back yesterday hard work on your own I reall take my hat off to one parents

natty and kaniluja welcome back

fairy I would have a nap eat loads of chocolate and watch a film I wanted

lucky you dh is back tomorrrow home for a week and then off to aus

we are not doing too well on the sleep front either ds2 goes down fine wakes at 10 then can't get him back in the cot as cries and cries tried to be firm last night but gave in and it took me another 30 mins to settle him as he was in a state ds1 slept through from 6 months would really like him to sleep in his own bed

foxythesnowfox · 19/04/2008 10:37

Andie, are you OK?

How long is DH off for?

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 10:38

I'm glad it's not just me foxy. I did buy a top from Monsoon a couple of weeks ago but I am now wondering if it would be ok as it's a bit bright for me really - is this ok, honestly?. And what do I wear with it? We are going here

After a couple of drinks I probably won't care tbh!

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 10:40

andie. Shall we have a meet up the week after next? Kingston/my house/Putney/Kew/Wisley/wherever??

foxythesnowfox · 19/04/2008 11:05

I really like that top!

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 19/04/2008 11:09

FF that top looks fab, and where you are going looks great. I would have suggested jeans, but perhaps not smart enough for where you are going?

Foxy a pencil skit and heels will look fab on you!

Andie, sorry you are going to be on your own, it's hard work isn't it.

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 11:09

Thanks Foxy, I really like it too, it's just not what I'd normally wear - unsurprising really I suppose as it's probably not suited to Sainsburys/playgroup/nursery run. I've started a thread in Style and Beauty, in case anyone else has any good ideas for me. I feel so out-of-touch

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 11:10

I think maybe I need to go out this afternoon and try and get some smart jeans as my usual ones probably wouldn't do.

FrazzledFairyFay · 19/04/2008 11:13

The website says the dress code is smaret casual - no hoods/caps/sportswear/trainers/boots - so I'm probably fairly safe in jeans then. It probably is still a good excuse for some new jeans though

foxythesnowfox · 19/04/2008 11:13

I'm going to go find your thread. Am feeling like I need help/inspiration too!

BTW thanks Bumper!

foxythesnowfox · 19/04/2008 11:14

I got some lovely jeans half price in Fat Face. I've also got my eye on some in Primark.£12.
