NEW THREAD!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Thanks guys, I realise we have been v lucky up till now, that's why it's more of a shock!

She doesn't move much at night so she isn't getting wedged anywhere or stuck in a particular position. We have tried sleeping bag off, sleeping back on, new sleeping bag, blanket off/on, calpol, she goes down fine - could the pre-bed routine really have an effect?

The biggest problem (well apart from me and DH being awake) is that we live in a flat in a really old building so I feel bad leaving her to cry and wake the whole house up. Tonight we might try another dose of calpol in case it is her teeth (she has been a bit whingey today) and not picking her up but just trying to soothe her.

Thanks for the advise. I feel bad whinging when this is just normally for some of you

Bumperlicious · 05/04/2008 14:31

Oh and she has a dummy but she usually still has it in when she wakes up.

lackaDAISYcal · 05/04/2008 14:50

hellloooooooo. I'm back from tthe wilds of Scotland (well Fort William), after a fun packed few days of sailing (well sitting on mate's yacht whilst he drove it through a series of 10 locks), nessie hunting (no luck unfortunately), climbing hills (I am sooooo unfit), eating venison (very yummy) and fishing (didn't catch a thing but it was good fun), and generally sitting by the log fire toasting marshmallows and chilling out! Lots of snow on the tops and we were going to go snowboarding, but just didn't have the time to fit in all we wanted to do.

We're going back for a week in the summer (midge repellant at the ready) and I can't wait.

10 hour drive to get home yesterday with fecking roadworks all the way home and BAD BAD traffic in Glasgow (I fecking hate driving in Glasgow.....nasty nasty nasty; five lanes and cars going everywhere)

what have I missed?

I'm going to disappear for ages now while I try to catch up!

Welcome back Daisy, glad you had such a great time. That part of Scotland is beautiful.

Here I am.
We were quiet without you

lackaDAISYcal · 05/04/2008 15:17

aha, someone o talk to

I'll upload my photos tomorrow. We got a few good days weather wise so it was all worthwhile. I'd love to live out there, but DH can't take the midges....his limey sassenach blood is far too tasty to them...and he is allergic and blisters)

lackaDAISYcal · 05/04/2008 15:19

I do talk a lot though, don't I?

I've just tried to catch up on the Nov AN thread, and gave up. there are about 50 names on the list already and they keep updating the list every other post with scan dates etc. I can't blardy keep up.

Sputnik · 05/04/2008 15:24

Ah yes I remember the midges, we had a couple of absolutely idyllic holidays on Mull and Iona when I was a kid, midges were definitly a feature, but worth it!

We have midges too here, though not quite so bad, trouble is they're a bugger to squish. When I was a lass I used to zap them with hairspray: instant immobilisation

Sputnik · 05/04/2008 15:25

Wait for time to separate the wheat from the chaff Daisy.
How are you anyway? Still got MS?

Sputnik · 05/04/2008 15:27

The november lot clearly need organising. Get them to do a seperate thread for due dates etc.

lackaDAISYcal · 05/04/2008 15:28

our secxret weapon is Avon skin-so-soft body oil spray in woodland fragrance. it's so effective all the loggers use it. and much nicer than smelling of deet or other chemical concoctions.

dd awake so gotta go. I'll be back on later, but we are off out to an indoor barbecue for my DFs 40th birthday party at 5. It was going to be a proper barbie, but it's been snowing again here today

lackaDAISYcal · 05/04/2008 15:31

no real ms symptoms now other than a bit of occaisional nausea. I'm trying to be upbeat about it, but am worrying about missed MCs. No date yet for my scan which is pissing annoying. I need to know that there is actually something in there! I have a bump already and I'm beginning to worry that I'm having a phantom pregnancy...or even twins

Sputnik · 05/04/2008 15:32

Oh, to be in England

lilQuidditchKel · 05/04/2008 16:04

hiya Daisy!!!

sending you lots of good bump vibes. can you chase up the hospital for a scan date? Might put your mind at ease to be doing something...

right off to watch Grand National and await Ocado. Even though we pay for it obviously, it's always a bit like Christmas when the delivery van arrives -- whee hee!

foxythesnowman · 05/04/2008 16:37

Hello all!

Welcome back Daisy - nice to 'see' you again

LO didn't sleep last night. Tried until 1.30 to get her to sleep in her cot, then gave up and she fed all night for comfort. She's got a temp, and threw up today as she is prone to with a fever. On top of that a good friend phoned me up to tell me I'd put her in an awkward position and made her look stupid (she took it upon herself to do something on my behalf which I hadn't asked her to do) and now I'm under pressure to do something I don't want to so as to not make things awkard for her. So I'm well knarked now.

justbeme · 05/04/2008 16:43

Welcome back Daisy! - Yes sounds like you need to organise that other PN thread!!

Do tell Foxy??!! We can be your AIBU contributers.

Didnt win on the Grand National - Never mind - Any winners anyone?

foxythesnowman · 05/04/2008 16:54

DP had the winner.

Am cautious about being specific on here JBM. Which is really hard as I could do with some opinions on it.

Jockeys always make me thing of that Kath and Kim episode at the Melbourne Cup. Where's Annobal when you need her!

justbeme · 05/04/2008 16:59

Yes, where is Annobal?? I did ask the other day and no one answered me - has she moved yet??

MMM difficult Foxy, you could always FB me?

Sputnik · 05/04/2008 17:05

Sorry, must've missed that JBM, Annobal has moved, but was hoping to get online again quickly. I expect things are pretty busy for her though.

Sputnik · 05/04/2008 17:15

I am insanely happy this afternoon, as I've just been going through my wardrobe and I can actually get into my summer clothes, though some of it is a bit tight, I also got myself a skirt this morning from H&M in my "usual" size, first time I've bought anything for my bottom half since mat-wear. Anyway, things should be looking reasonably ok by the time I actualy have to wear any of it.

I've made really slow progress with the weight-loss, but I'm finally getting somewhere and actualy feel ok looking in the mirror again. I hope this doesn't sound smug, but I just wanted to share and maybe inspire a bit!

I still have quite a serious muffin top though.

justbeme · 05/04/2008 17:30

Well Done Sputnik!!
Yes, the muffin top - I have one of those even though the rest of me is ok.
Can I be arsed to do anything about it tho?? I really should try I suppose. I hate stomach exercises - whats the best thing to do do you think??

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/04/2008 17:34

Yay Sputnik!
I've just done my 3rd training walk this week, if that's worth feeling proud about? Only 2-2.5 miles each time, but I'm pleased at the pace I've been managing, and that the massive blister at the beginning of the week didn't deter me. If I could have a bit more willpower about biscuits etc I might start losing some weight too.

And of course, Welcome back Daisy!!

RiaisMaLarkin · 05/04/2008 18:30

did you go shopping them jammy?

I have bought another new handbag, I'm hoping I haven't developed a "habit". I bought the boys a "man-bag" each too. Got ds2 some shoes - he has gone up a whole size. ds1 wouldn't have either pair so we'll have to go out again tomorrow. DH will be thrilled. I did get ds1 a telescope for his birthday.

daisy - are you new?

Welcome back, sounds like you had a good time. I love Glencoe, that's not far away from where you were is it?

It has gone black here and is raining.

DH has gone out back to the place where he had his interview this morning for? I suppose it's a working interview, he didn't really say.

This Dr Who is freaky. I'm sure DS2 shouldn't be watching.

Sorry long post, but I have been gone all day.
