CaptainDippy · 11/04/2008 20:33

Think I am a bit over-whelmed atm tbh. Too much going on and not enough "me" time ....

CaptainDippy · 11/04/2008 20:34

For not enough read none!

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 20:38

Does it get easier as they get older?

mammyjo · 11/04/2008 20:42

Hello all. I am still here, still taking regular pain killers, without which the pain returns Still, at least it is making me more comfortable so that I can get on with things. Thankfully my parents have been fantastic over the last few days, I could never have got through it without them, what with dh away too.

Happy Birthday to William, Keir and Rose!
Runny, I hope that you have had a fab day today xxxx

NL, so sad about the TA What a shock for everyone.

POTC, hope you are ok. Are you sad because you have more feelings for him than you first thought? Just wondered, you know I am a nosey bint! Please don't stay away from here, we will only come looking for you!!

Pesha, hope your friends dd will be ok. So scary for them. Fingers crossed that you can sort the house out soon too

Oooggs, hope the last settling in session went well today, how are you feeling this evening?

SOL, hope you are feeling better tonight. So tough to cope with little ones when you feel crap yourself xx

Eddas, glad you can hear again!!

Hope everyone else is ok and all those having birthdays are having lovely days

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 20:45

are you getting checked out again mj? Or is it just a case of if it improves nothing else needs to be done?

mammyjo · 11/04/2008 21:01

Have to go back to the GP week after next and am waiting for a date for a scan. He said that things should hopefully settle down over a few days, but if not, or if I get any signs of jaundice then to go straight back.

mammyjo · 11/04/2008 21:03

All a bit scary really. I have never really had anything wrong with me before that needed investigation iykwim. I am not a good patient at all, it is annoying me that I am whacked and don't have the energy to do all my usual stuff!

Sexonlegs · 11/04/2008 21:14

Evening all.

MJ, I was thinking about you today Good to see you and am glad the painkillers are working xx

Dippy, my poor lamb. I am sorry you are having such a tough time atm. Life is hectic isn't it. Hope you can have a break some time soon.

Not much to report. We are off to the inlaws tomorrow for the weekend and B is staying there the whole week ! Not sure she is looking forward to it; she is so close to Katie and will really miss her badly.
K had another yukky nappy - sorry for tmi. It was fine after lunch, but after tea - yuk. I am sure it must be teething.
How is everyone else?

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 21:16

Aaargh
T awake and will not be put down
Was so pleased as he had aother early night
How come B is staying away for the week? Do you thinkshe'll enjoy it once she's there?
Hope K is OK

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 21:17

mj, i know what you mean - it's awful not know ing what's wrong or what's going to happen

Doobydoo · 11/04/2008 21:22

Oh Mammyjo.Thinking of you.xxxxxxxxx

mammyjo · 11/04/2008 21:22

I know of several people in work who have had to have their gall bladders removed because of stones. Weird really, as in work I send children to theatre for surgery regularly. Different if it is me facing that prospect. Scares the living daylights out of me! Must try to think positively!! I always think about the worst case scenario.

Sexonlegs · 11/04/2008 21:23

It's half term darn sarf, well where we are, so she is staying there as dh and I haven't got enough holiday to cover all the school holidays. She has stayed there before - for a week each year since she was 3. She does enjoy it, but she does miss us.

Is T ok now?

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 21:28

I bet you'll miss her as well
mj - thinking of you. I'm sure you know it will all be fine, but yes, it's very different when it's happening to you
T seems fine, thanks for asking, no D for a few days - seems to be eating slightly better too.
I might regret saying that...

NorthernLurker · 11/04/2008 21:31

SOL - B will have a wonderful time - even if she misses Katie - my girls love going to my parents - though they were very pleased to see B again. I think dd1 first went when she was 5 and dd2 was 2. They were fine. The following year they both went - now that's party time!

Dippy - sorry you are having a hard time right now. It is pretty relentless isn't it. Will hope for better things as the year carrys on.

Mammyjo - hope your pain is better soon how awful for you. When is dh home again?

SPB - I personally think it does get a bit easier as they get older - when you can say go and watch a video, paint a picture, brush your own teeth, pack your lunchbox etc etc. The flipside of that is the hard stuff, the stuff that's complicated is much more difficult to fix. Babies - you're looking at cuddles, milk, calpol, a bit of fresh air. Older children - it's trouble at school with friends, questions about stuff on the news, trying to let them be indepedant but keep them safe. Not so 'easy' to fix. Then there's the next level which I know nothing about - but I think teenagers sound pretty scary tbh - after all they don't have to like you!

POTC - hope things improve for you as well. if there is anything you would like me to pray about - just give me a shout

Think I'm going to go and have a bath soon and an early night. It has felt like a long week! i heard today that our lovely teaching assistant has left a daughter in her mid teens. She was a single parent and from what I hear there is very little other family

NorthernLurker · 11/04/2008 21:33

Mammyjo - it's because you work there that's it worse isn't it? I'm not a medical person - but I still know more than is good for me about hospitals and illness and patients - makes me a very bad patient!

Eddas · 11/04/2008 21:34

evening

CD hope you can find a few mins you time soon {{{hugs}}} how are the eyes?

MJ, i'd be scared too. It's different watching someone else go through something. Glad you feel a bit better. Hope you get a date through soon.

SPB, glad t's better. Has he settled yet?

SOL, it's school hols here too. B'll have a great week but you'll miss each other alot i'm sure.

I've posted a few times today and totally forgot to wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to William,Keir and Rose, hope you've all had lovely days

Pesha, how are you feeling now?

Hi to all those i haven't mentioned

I think i've overcatered for the party although if it there were 124 kids it might well be ok I'm sure the adults will help out

Our house looks all tidy, makes a change not for long though. I reckon by 3pm tomorrow it'll look like a bombs hit it

NorthernLurker · 11/04/2008 21:35

Have you got plenty of black bags for the clearing up?

Eddas · 11/04/2008 21:36

yes mum

NorthernLurker · 11/04/2008 21:39

Excellent

NorthernLurker · 11/04/2008 21:40
