NorthernLurker · 11/04/2008 21:45

small child who is going to be one?

NorthernLurker · 11/04/2008 21:46

Don't throw that birthday cake at me - you'll need it!

Eddas · 11/04/2008 21:46

i knew there was something

Eddas · 11/04/2008 21:47

I would never throw cake, especially a chocolate one

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 21:49

we are leaving him to cry again apparently
Why is this so hard
Eddas, dd you get the hedgehog cake in the end? PLease stick photos on your profile - as well as party photos of course

NorthernLurker · 11/04/2008 21:50

Oooooooh chocolate cake You know I don't think you should let the children have that - well maybe just a few crumbs - chocolate is very bad for children - it makes them explode!!! Honetsly it does - better keep the cake for you the grown-ups

Eddas · 11/04/2008 21:52

oh spb no advice re the crying/sleeping i'm afraid. Fingers crossed he gives in fairly quickly

Yes i did get Harry the hedgehog, he's so cute! I also got a 'one' candle I'll put some photos on tomorrow. Oo that reminds me I need to delete my memory card as it's full. I will try and take lots of photos tomorrow(yeah right) or maybe get one of my friends to do it for me

NorthernLurker · 11/04/2008 21:55

I must be tired - I was just thinking - 'poor eddas - having two kids has really sent her round the twist - she's named the birthday cake Harry! Wonder what she calls the jelly?'

Then I remembered ds's name

Hang in there SPB - have a {{{hug}}}

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 21:55

charge battery?
DH has cracked - which is just going to amke it worse

Eddas · 11/04/2008 21:55

wise words nl. Tis exactly the reason I saved my dc from easter eggs

To be fair though dd doesn't really like chocolate she prefers sweets. DS is far too little to eat all his eggs

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 21:56

Actually I read that the same NL but I think the cake does have a name - is it Henry the Hedgehog?

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 21:56

Or did you talk about getting "Harry the Hedgehog cake" last time and I read it wrong then too...

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 21:57

no wonder it didn't show up when I searched the M&S site

NorthernLurker · 11/04/2008 21:57

Did I ever tell you all that dd1 gave up chocolate for lent this year? She did really well. If resisited when she went to a friends party - with a chocolate fountain!! It was a nuisence though when I was shopping - I didn't realise how many chocolate type cakes, biscuits and puddings I buy

Eddas · 11/04/2008 21:58

oh no if he stays up will he flop at some point [hopeful] not ideal though.

PMSL nl, i'm a little nuts but I don't name all the food we eat I went to look at M&S' cakes and saw that one and just thought I had to buy it.

NorthernLurker · 11/04/2008 21:59

Sorry that should be 'even resisted when' And I can spell NUISANCE as well

Eddas · 11/04/2008 22:00

The cake is called Harry the hedgehog hang on i'm going to take a picture to prove i'm not a madwoman it...................

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 22:05

elkiedee · 11/04/2008 22:06

Happy birthday William, Keir and Rose

Hugs to mammyjo

SOL, hope the visit to your ILs goes ok and that B has a lovely time staying there.

We had a lovely time with my mum, went to the playground at the local park because I thought D would enjoy himself, which he did, and it was a chance to impress his grandmother with how he's learning and developing. It also meant half an hour when she couldn't be cleaning up our house . Then we came back and had chicken and rice and strawberries for after, and D tucked in enthusiastically to everything, but especially the strawberries! Just after D was born both my parents bought us so many strawberries, and it's something that makes me feel very spoiled in a nice way, cherished and all that. We have another box of them awaiting us in the fridge, mmmmm. My little sister was round briefly as well.

And tomorrow morning we're going out to the city farm near my aunt's house - Danny meets the pigs. I know that probably sounds a bit strange to all the country girls here but I think D (and dp and I) will enjoy it.

Eddas · 11/04/2008 22:07

elkie i'm always amazed with how much you do

Photos loaded

elkiedee · 11/04/2008 22:09

lol at the cake naming discussion!

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 22:12

elkie, your plans sound lovely, we've been meaning to go to a local farm and show T the lambs, better hurry up!
ikwym about the strawberries, for me it is nicer weather - straight after I had T it was lovely weather, brings back memories of DH doing loads of baby washing and pegging out loads of tiny vests on the drier
Still wingeing

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2008 22:18

Now shouting MUM-my

Well at the least it's doing wonders for his vocabulary - at this rate he'll ask for " a slice of toast with strawberry jam, please" in the morning
[kind of a smile]
[bursts into tears]

elkiedee · 11/04/2008 22:18

I think my aunt suggested it to my mum, the farm is near her house and she takes her younger grandchildren, and also her great-nieces, there.
