FrazzledFairyFay · 27/03/2008 11:41

BumperliciousAteTooManyEggs · 27/03/2008 11:44

If you can't do it on your birthday when can you

DKMA · 27/03/2008 12:00

Hi everyone!

Had a brief catch up.........
Happy birthday Fairy!

Jammy - glad you're having a nice day after last night!

Hope everyone else is having a good day?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/03/2008 12:06

Thanks DKMA. I guess "nice" is relative: I have cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, including washing poo off the bathroom floor (sorry). But it is being the best day so far this week And will go out with the Jamlet after lunch

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/03/2008 12:09

That wasn't meant to be a whinge. I AM having a nice day

RiaisMaLarkin · 27/03/2008 12:11

happy birthday fairy. Have a good one!

I would like it to be known that I am an idiot and I shouldn't jump to conclusions. I don't know how DH puts up with me!!! He has gone for an interview with a local recruitment agency

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/03/2008 12:29

Good luck to MrRia!!

RiaisMaLarkin · 27/03/2008 13:57

PAH, over qualified. But the agency could be a useful contact. Can you believe the jobcentre told him not to put so much info in his "what I have done to find work" log.

I have finished painting the bookcase.

andiem · 27/03/2008 14:15

happy birthday fairy enjoy of brownies for brekkie could do first week of easter hols for meet up so that would be 8,9,10 april
ria poo about dh being overqualified

DKMA · 27/03/2008 14:20

What a bummer Ria! Poor DH! Must be soul destroying for him?

The pub on our lane has recently been taken over by a family - he has been a chef in many gastro type pubs over the years but decided to try and give it a go on his own.
They've done really well and turned the place around - it was run by a right miserable couple before who weren't really into the food side of things - so the village is made up they have somewhere great to eat and don't have to worry about taxi's etc!

Hope you get that walk on the beach later!

RiaisMaLarkin · 27/03/2008 14:21

I am intruigued (sp?) that some of you aren't on school holidays yet. Did you just get the bank holidays for Easter then? How long do you get for the hols? Funny how different areas do things differently isn't it.

RiaisMaLarkin · 27/03/2008 14:25

thanks dkma. It's got all cold and drizzly now so might just stay in!

Your local sounds nice. DH went to one of our locals last night that has a "holding manager" in, I think the bloke was trying to sell him it - if only he knew, but maybe one day... I think the worst bit for him is he can't even get a job on the holiday parks, where the staff leave a lot to be desired iyswim. That must really get to you I think.

Something will turn up soon...

DKMA · 27/03/2008 14:36

Ria I bet those holiday park places just want work monkeys - to do as they are told etc. I reckon they know your dh is too good for them and worry he might try and use his brain at some point.

Would a 'holding manager' thing not work for him at the mo then?

andiem · 27/03/2008 14:37

hi dkma your local sounds nice

ria we just got bank holidays off and then 2 weeks from the 7th april not good as dh is away in the states then we took ds out of school to go skiing

DKMA · 27/03/2008 14:43

Hi Andiem! How was skiing? Where did you get to?

Easter has confused me this year!

andiem · 27/03/2008 14:48

skiing was good dkma loads of fresh snow we went to meribel but we were all poorly so a bit stressful at times

DKMA · 27/03/2008 15:00

Loads of our group had D&V bug while we were there (accross the 2 chalets we had) which was not good!
Don't want to be sh**ing in yer pants half way down a slop do you!!

andiem · 27/03/2008 15:02

DKMA · 27/03/2008 15:18

Fairy.........I've just been looking for info on babysitters in my area and came accross your thread - for when you were at a wedding in Knutsford.
Did you use that babysitter in the end? She's very near me - so If she was ok I might give her a call!

Sputnik · 27/03/2008 15:44

DKMA, that gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "skid marks", doesn't it .

Can we please stop talking about poo now?

andiem · 27/03/2008 15:53
