Oh no Caz. Hope your little man is ok. Good luck with the nursery visit.

NL, your day sounded fab!

NorthernLurker · 16/03/2008 20:59

Well it was very nice - we had yummy sausages for lunch - and I was a proper mother last night and made fairy cakes

Sexonlegs · 16/03/2008 21:00

Night Oooggs - sweet dreams!

Right, a few chores to do before the week starts again - God I feel knackered at the thought of it all. Back a bit later.

NorthernLurker · 16/03/2008 21:14

I know what I forgot to tell you all - surveyor is coming on Thursday for the buyers homebuyers report. I'm terrified he will find something awful which means we'll never, ever be able to sell! Reassurance or tips please!

Eddas · 16/03/2008 21:14

woo hoo, more people have posted

caz, i always had tonsilitis when I was little hope he's ok.

oooggs at hearing tomorrow about the school. I have to wait til 31st not too worried though

not much to say about what's been happening here. went out last night and for a change I didn't get too drunk I had said to myself that I wouldn't but then I always say that and wake up wondering what happened the night before I felt really old in the club we went to. I was the youngest in our group but looking around at eveyone else I felt a little out of place. Oh well, I do love a good old dance so didn't care much who was watching

Eddas · 16/03/2008 21:15

NL, you seem a bit like me always worrying about things you can't control. I hate not knowing things or not being able to know what'll happen. It will be fine

Eddas · 16/03/2008 21:16
NorthernLurker · 16/03/2008 21:26

Thanks! I'm praying about it of course - but I always find this sort of thing hard to let go of and let God take over. I know he has a plan for us - a really good one. The problem is - I have a plan too - and I'm quite fond of it and it might not be the same one. And breathe...............

NorthernLurker · 16/03/2008 21:26

oooh pizza is ready - back later

Eddas · 16/03/2008 21:41

NL you're very lucky to believe, hope the praying helps you out

Talking of plans does anyone have a 5 year plan or anything? I'm wondering if I should

Not quite sure where that came from maybe I should go to bed. Trouble is dh has said he wants to watch match of the bloody day at 10(in bed) and tbh i'd rather not!

was mid post then and both dc started crying. DD had wet the bed and was crying which woke ds who started crying too bless em! DD now changed and bed re-made, ds settled back with his dummy and blanket. Peace reigns once more

NorthernLurker · 16/03/2008 21:51

No 5 year plan here - just get as far as 'I want to move!' that's enough plan for me

Seriously impressed by how quickly you've sorted your children's woe though Eddas. Respect to that woman!

Right dh needs the pc - and I fancy a pancake - back tomorrow.

elkiedee · 16/03/2008 23:18

I have a sort of 5 year plan which I'm in the middle of - can't remember when I started but it was by my 40th birthday and I don't think I'm going to make that deadline (next year, gulp!) but I am persevering with the plan. First step was to have a baby, then return to work and try again, and it took 9 months to get pg with D, but we didn't really do much active TTC, just stopped avoiding pregnancy. Then I'd probably have to go back to work for 6 months, full or part time, and then we'll move to Leeds.

I'm hoping to be able to reduce the mortgage as Leeds wages are lower, and it will be a financial gamble, but as we've been quite lucky in some ways, I think we will be able to work something out. I have to set myself a cut-off date for when to start preparing to move anyway if I don't get pregnant again. If one of us gets made redundant then I might take that as an opportunity to leave London sooner.

But there are of course other complications - dp's mum's move to a residential home in a village near Kings Lynn is probably the biggest (they've agreed to her staying long term in the one in the village she was brought up in, with other residents she recognises from her childhood), as I do worry about being so much further from her in travel time.

elkiedee · 16/03/2008 23:29

The other thing about plans is, it's funny how things turn out. 10 years ago I had only just met dp although we'd talked about having babies very early on. Just before we met my mum had offered me help buying a house. I didn't have a permanent job and had been put off even looking for one by previous experiences. Within 9 months we'd bought this house, moved in together and both started the jobs we have now.

I suspect most plans start off very different from the reality of how things turn out, too.

oooggs · 17/03/2008 04:03

was up with ds2 (he is now settled) and couldn't resist checked to see if school email had come. It hasn't can you tell I am really worried - will let you know as soon as I do - not that you are interested - but I can rambled to you lot without it becoming a parenting battle - like it would in rl.

liath · 17/03/2008 06:59

Fingers firmly crossed for you, oooggs.

Right, need to start packing - we'reoff on holiday! WOOHOOO!!!

With MIL (not so woohoo)..............and DH has his job interview half way through.........eeek!

oooggs · 17/03/2008 07:39

morning liath - have a great holiday and good luck to dh with his interview

no email yet

Eddas · 17/03/2008 08:31

that's the kind of thing I meant elkie, you no just rough ideas of what you would like to happen. I guess I did have a plan in that we planned dd and i'd always said once she was 2 i'd like to try for a 2nd. and it was always in my mind that if we had 2 dc we would move. So just before dd was 2 we put the house up for sale and found this house. Then we moved the month after dd's 2nd bday and about a week after moving we found out I was pg Maybe it feels odd because I don't think we'll have any more dc and I really don't want to move again so there is no plan IYSWIM.

Oooggs, totally understand the school thing. Not sure if it'll help but someone told me that emails would be sent at 4pm on 31st in our area. Fingers crossed it's good news

Liath, have a nice holiday

I'm a bit about this week as it's quite busy. Looking forward to friday when dh is home. Although he's at work on saturday and dd doesn't have ballet[eek] we need a plan for activities on sat afternoon! Oh and the car has it's MOT on wed so please keep everything crosssed that it passes

Too much to do so little time

StealthPolarBear · 17/03/2008 08:43

morning everyone
good luck oooggs
enjoy your holiday liath
back soon x

Maveta · 17/03/2008 08:57

morning! Just saying hi, really nice day today so I have to get out of the office and do some location scouting.. just having a quick coffee to get me moving

5 year plans - we have one which is basically the 4 years it'll take dh to finish studing [groan] and then his probation year and then hopefully move to the UK for a bit. MY plan hopes for another baby before the 5 years is up, but dh is definitely not even thinking about that, so it's the secret plan for now I like having an idea of what we're working towards but nothing is set in stone, dh could decide tomorrow he doesn't want to keep studying or we'll realise we can't make it work financially, but we'll just make another one...

ok, hope you all have a good day x

NorthernLurker · 17/03/2008 11:16

Morning all

Enjoy the holiday Liath -hope the interview goes well.

No news Oooggs?

Interesting reading the plans. I did have a plan this time two years ago - it was to try for another baby Nopw we've done that moving really is the next big thing (gulp)

StealthPolarBear · 17/03/2008 11:27

our plan is a ten year one and involves having no mortgage at the end of it.
and eating flying pig bacon sandwiches as we make the last payment

Hello all.

Had lovely meetup with Dippy and Ange at the weekend although N was quite grumpy - sorry! About to put some pics on my profile.

Also had fab night out on Sat with my NCT group and much wine!

Feeling chirpy this morning as I have washed all the floors downstairs - now keeping off them while they dry and O is crawling all over them to dry them with her knees! Beats Sat when DH had managed to get soot all over the floors and O was picking that up on her knees!

StealthPolarBear · 17/03/2008 11:35

as soon as wew've finished doing up the house - that is eating all our spare money and more at the moment!
