J sounds just like T SPB
No words here, just this really weird intake of breath noise when he's excited, kinda like the hee of a donkey's hee-haw

We went swimming today, good fun

I have a couple of dilemmas, anyone care to debate them with me?

elkiedee · 15/03/2008 19:33

PillockOfTheCommunity · 15/03/2008 19:42

ok
so
Dilemma number 1

A (M's dad) is best mates with P
My best mate R is dating P

Andy told me on thursday that P has been kissing other women, possibly more than that.

I want to tell R, but if I do then P will know A told me, and won't take it well. But I don't feel I can leave R not knowing cos she has been trying to decide whether to stay with P or not lately anyway.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 15/03/2008 19:46

Dilemma number 2

Sofa Boy
He knows I want nothing more than friendship from him. I just don't feel anything physical for him, and as superficial as it is, he's very overweight and that puts me off. There are other issues too and it just wouldn't work.
He shares a house with a guy. This guy does hit my buttons, but he had a on/off gf. Until last weekend, when they split up finally, he took the last of her things to her last night. He came to the panto with us on thursday and came swimming with us today. I really like him.
So what do I do? I know that Sofa Boy would be hurt if anything happened between me and his housemate, but then I know he wants me to be happy too.

oooggs · 15/03/2008 19:50

bloody hell ellie - you don't do things by half do you

maybe in a minute someone really grownup will come along and give you really good sound advise but in the meantime.........

PillockOfTheCommunity · 15/03/2008 19:52

I know
his housemate is a year younger than me as well
but he's just so lovely, and a great person too, with obvious good taste as his daughter is called Ellie

oooggs · 15/03/2008 19:55

I would ask sofa mans advise on his friend as he gets the message, but then again housemate may not be interested and you could loose sofa man as a mate

or

get sofaman to lose some pounds

or

if haven't got a clue, I'd be crap at dating

PillockOfTheCommunity · 15/03/2008 20:02

he knows he needs to lose weight, but he can't be bothered. And it's not the only issue, he's clingy, just as messed up in the head as me, and creates just as much work as the boys when he's staying at my house. All in all no hope there!

oooggs · 15/03/2008 20:08

its bad enough having the boys on your own without adding to them

right then - no go with sofa man

housemate - so he is younger, good looking and you fancy the pants off him - no contest really

has anyone grownup turn up yet to give proper advise

Maveta · 15/03/2008 20:17

evening all! hi potc, oooggs, elkie, who else is here right now? I'm half watching ANTM, wish listing M&S undies and here so POTC re. your dilemmas..

  1. sounds like you are just NOT into sofa boy so I think you just need to maybe make sure he knows that, and talking to him as a mate about his housemate would maybe send that message home? He might be hurt but it's probably only fair to set him straight and not leave him hoping?
  1. Re. your mate's bf, I would probably tell A you are in a difficult situation and take it from there? It's a hard one... dh and I were freaked out when our respective best mates got together several months ago, knowing both of them and knowing it could end it tears.. we both decided we just did not want to know if it started going wrong i.e we do NOT want to be in the middle. If my mate does something that could hurt dh's mate (who is also a very good friend of mine) I'd probably tell her straight up that if she didn't want me to tell him, she'd better make sure I didn't know and vice versa. It's a horrible position to be in, and friends shouldn't put you in it imho.
Maveta · 15/03/2008 20:20

and for a minor dilemma of my own - what does anyone know about the accuracy of M&S bra size guide? I am measuring as 32DD!!! Pre baby I was 36A and I've just measured post feed so boobs are pretty deflated. Think is, they just really don't seem that much of a different size from before, I find it hard to believe that is accurate.. I neeeeeed new undies and seeing as I may keep feeding for a while it seems impractical to make do with the undies I have until I stop..

elkiedee · 15/03/2008 20:21

Grown up? Dippy's still away isn't she? Where's Northern Lurker?

I understand the second dilemma, but don't know what to advise. Maybe if he's just broken up with someone it's a bit soon. Why were they on off and is it really off this time? The age difference isn't a big deal - my stepdad is a year younger than my mum - they were 32 and nearly 31 (and I was nearly 7) when they got married.

Dilemma A - think I'd say tell R. But again, does A anticipate that you will tell her or that you'll keep it all to yourself. Given that he seems to be a good dad to M and that you have a good relationship as M's parents though not together, you do need to think about the impact on your family that telling will have. Why is R thinking of breaking up with him anyway - is it based on suspicion or is she already a bit fed up over something else?

There, lots of questions and completely useless advice.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 15/03/2008 20:59

Don't worry, I wouldn't be thinking about having any kind of relationship with housemate
ahem
anyway, yes it is a bit soon, but i think he's quite serious about it being over, and i'd want to spend lots of time getting to know him first before it became anything more.
Sofa boy knows that I want nothing from him, or at least he bloody well should do, last night i sent him a text that said "i do not want a relationship with you"
he commented a while back that i'd better not be thinking about getting it on with housemate, but then today he said he wouldn't mind and started singing love is in the air

penpotEca · 15/03/2008 21:34

evening all

penpotEca · 15/03/2008 21:38

ahh, POC,you sound like you're just too popular

maveta - no idea bout m&s sizes. . I never buy bras without trying on 1st. Hmm, that's not a lot of help is it. Am in the same dilema with bf bras. Need a new one, but who knows what size I am anymore

StealthPolarBear · 15/03/2008 21:54

Hi everyone
POTC, what a dilemma - sounds as though sofaboy is coming round though. Does his housemate have any nice female friends for him?
Maveta, my bras are from M&S, they seem fine. I got measured in the shop though - i assume you used something on their site? I have to say these scraggy old things will only come off me when they are held together by one thin thread and it snaps
