vinorouge · 07/03/2008 21:12

I muts be thick cos can't work out from 2happys profile what the exciting news is. Congratulations ...... if thats the right thing to say?

Had a hectic day taking DH to minor injuries this morning to check out footy injury. There from 8-10 then home to meet rgee for lovely chat and catch up til 2.30, then 7 mums and babies round til 6ish hence mess and lots of noise. Fun had by all!

Off to Liverpool for the weekend tomorrow morning so need to pack for that. It never stops. Have a good weekend all of you .

canofworms · 07/03/2008 23:12

(skulking back on to board because I've been away so long.....)

Did anyone miss me?

I've been on a course (actually still got a month to go but now in denial and instead of finishing my assignment thought I'd come on here to look up breastfeeding?!?)

No idea what your news is 2happy although tried my best to work it out!

Wilkie - can't believe your moving to Huddersfield! It's not that far from me and I go shopping there quite a lot. Also my dh works around there a lot as a nurse practitioner so hope you don't get to see him!

LAL - I'm doing core plan as well and I've lost 7lb already. I think it's so easy and I'm doing it on-line.

Vino - goodness what a day! I thought my days were busy but they sound quite mundane compared to yours

Others - hope to catch up with you tomorrow but must must must go to bed soon (I'm sat here with a pile of work on my knee underneath the lap-top and as I was there 9 hours today really think it's time to call it a day!)

And sorry again for being away so long

ladytophamhatt · 08/03/2008 07:19

Heres the good news, I don'tthink she'll mind.....MoM has had her baby!!

Reggiee · 08/03/2008 13:21

Hi LTH / Canmummy.
Great news about Mom isn't it

Quick post whilst lo is napping. Should be packing really - off to my dad's overnight, then to il's tomorrow.

HAd a lovely day yesterday catching up with Vino. Her bump is soooo neat btw. Really nice to see the lo's together. I had some of Vino's special recipe ginger cakee ...nom nom!! Funniest thing yesterday was when we heard chinking coming from the floor and turned round to see the two lo's with stella bottles from the recycling bin in their hands trying to drink the dregs. V entertaining!

Anyway, must dash. Have a good weekend all.

ladytophamhatt · 08/03/2008 13:26

LOL at the stella.

Wilkie · 08/03/2008 17:59

That is great news - just posted on the thread. Bless her How lovely

Susie - Core Plan is Weight Watchers. It took my BF five months to lose 3 stone. The theory is that you basically eat until you are full, you eat three meals per day (with foods from the core list, practically everything is on there apart from bread). Then you can snack on as much fruit and veg as you like in between meals. You also et 21 points per week which you can use, if you like, for naughty food. I can't recommend it highly enough! I am going back on it this week as have put on a bit of weight cos I have been troughing cos I have been a bit down.

Can - nice to see you back finally!!!! Whereabout are you?

Had a nice couple of days at my sisters house. The rented house is just about sorted in Huddersfield so am pleased!! - we're getting there slowly but surely!

eandh · 08/03/2008 18:06

aaaaarghhh I broke my laptop last night and havent had internet access all day and Hattie has been so poorly I needed MN advice, heres my very long boring story.

Picked girls up from Mil at 5.20 apparently both been fine all day, left there and 5 mins later Hattie throws up everywhere in the car, I have never seen so much sick and lumpy food in my life. I had to stop the car and strip her off and then put her back in seat wrapped in blanket where she promptly fell asleep. Got home and washed her down put pj's on she threw up again, dh home he gets ellie to bed and we keep Hattie downstairs everytime she coughs she throws up (I secretly acuse mil of food poisoning her ) I strip car seat off to wash cover and because I am hungry/pissed off etc got a bit stroppy turned round and managed to knock laptop of the unit and smash the screen and the back of it. Gave up went to bed with Hattie who was up at least once an hour being sick.

DH got up with Ellie at 6.30, me and Hattie lay in till 7am, bathed her and she couldnt even keep water down just kept falling asleep or being sick. DH looked after her, me and Ellie went to my brothers shop, I bought a lovely new laptop should have been £500 something, but with an offer he could put on it plus his discount got it for £380 (paying over 10 months at £38 a month so not bad) plus he threw in loads of anti virus softwarre etc free.

Got home Hattie has diarrohea so phone NHS direct (temp spiking at 39.9 and she sicks up calpol) they refer me to out of hours drs who ask me to take her in. She is asleep when I got there and dr looked at her and said its a virus (yes I know that but what do I do about her temp if she cant keep calpol down and also she is unable to retain any fluids) dr pissed me off as sounded like i was wasting his time and then hattie threw up all over him

Was told to keep an eye on her if temp over 40 or she hasnt had wet nappy by tomorrow monring I have to take her to hospital (she hasnt wee'd since yesterday) Cmae home she continues throwing any fluid she drinks back up BUT gave ellie her dinner and hattie was trying to get some so gave her a piece of dry bread and shes eaten it and gone back to sleep so am hoping she may be on the mend.

Now I have time to play on my laptop

Canmummy welcome back

Vin - you sound busier than me

rgee - hope you have a fab weekend

LTH - are the ds's behaving?

Think I may persuade dh to order chinese for dinner mmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnn

eandh · 08/03/2008 18:07

wilkie - fab news about the house

2happy · 08/03/2008 18:10

eandh sorry to hear about H Would she take ice chips? That way she gets a little bit of fluid but absorbs through the mout so nothing hits stomach to start her being sick again. Hope no-one else gets it (except maybe the doctor she barfed on )

OP posts:
eandh · 08/03/2008 18:13

blimmin hope that rude stroppy man gets it, ellie hasnt said anything yet so am hoping it may be something only h picked up (or mil has posioned her as hattie had chicken for dinner but ellie didnt have it)

2happy · 08/03/2008 18:14

If in doubt, blame mil - works for me

OP posts:
eandh · 08/03/2008 18:14

oops meant say dh bought some ice cubes from tesco and hattie wouldnt suck them, but have sent him round to get ice poles as she'll probably go for them (and told himt o get chinese on way home)

eandh · 08/03/2008 18:15

well she is lovely most of the time but I did notice frozen chicken yesterday morning and that is what hattie had for tea last night )

2happy · 08/03/2008 18:16

And a bag of prawn crackers for me, Mr EandH

OP posts:
ladytophamhatt · 08/03/2008 18:46

eandh, ask the doc fro child strenghth paracetamol serpositaries (I know thats spelt wrong but reading phonically it sound right).
I had them fo r ds1 when he was little because hecouldn't keep anything down and his temp was getting higher and higher.

Been a shitter of a day here. took ds2 to football at 9am (FFS 9am...on a saturday GRRRRR), getting them all out that early on the weekend is shit.

went shopping while ds2 was there, then came home to find the fridge freezer is dead.
everything had defrosted so I had to spend th eday cooking whatever can be cooked and re-froze (chest freezer in teh cellar).
2 toad in the holes (12 sausages)
1 curry (5 chicken breast fillets)
about 25 chicken dumbsticks (why I had that many I do not know)
A massive pot of spag bol(2 packets of organic meat) which is half eaten now.

I dread to think how much stuff I threw out. Fish fillets, pizzas, Chips, meatballs, ice cream, ice lollies, bacon, mackeral (caught by me last summer). About a whole bin bag worth....

Dh came home and went out with ds1 had the f*cking cheek to do his usual muttering under his breath when he went upstairs about tidying up.
It was like a red rag to a bull!!

I screamed up the stairs "FGS next week I'm going out a 7am so that you can get all 4 up dressed, fed and out the house for 9 o'bloody clock...then while your out I'm to leave loads of food that need cooking just for the fun of it....show me what needs tidying.....come on SHOW ME....FGS you're like nazi"

Still had to do all the washing etc of course adn all that cooking made my kitchen look like I'd had a party...

Am shattered now.

eandh · 08/03/2008 18:51

Thanks for that info lth - I have managed to syringe 5ml into her now she is alseep so fingers crossed (didnt know about the suppostries though so thats useful)

Are you claiming from your insurance for the food, most policies have freezer cover for £50 excess, when I claimed I just added £50 worth of food to compensate excess (I kept all the packets but they didnt want to see them and it didnt affect my premium) and grr at dh - they are all so 'one minded' arent they (dh still went and played football this afternoon whilst i was stuck with e and h)

2happy - dh phoned he is just collecting chinese so they wont be long

2happy · 08/03/2008 19:18

Men never cease to amaze me. LTH good on you for yelling! Did he at elast do the washing up (why am I even asking? ). Eandh I can't believe he still went to football !! Mine had the cheek to text me complaining about the "horizontal rain" in the hills, but that it was blowing away the beer hangover . I have decided that f the fact we hardly get any time off together, and f the bfeeding, next time he's off I'm bloody going up to a mates in Edinburgh, we will shop, eat and go to the cinema and do the girly stuff I haven't done in years. Fuckit. Men.
