eandh · 10/03/2008 14:46

at kat's interesting comments!! (hope mouth better soon)

LTH- glad you are feeling better, retail therapy worked well

Mom - congrats x 10000000000000000

I am at work and so bored today I have been ringing my boss begging for work , popped to primark and got hattie some cord trousers reduced to £2 and leggings for 50p plus a lovely waterproof jacket in a funky 60's style print with fleece lining inside reduced from £18 to £5 in marks and spencers, ellie got some funky kids sunglasses reduced to 30p

It was so windy and pouring with rain this morning, my garden furniture is all over the grass the slide has fallen over and side gate has broken. Eased off a bit now

eandh · 10/03/2008 14:47

2happy - i know exactly how you feel re the beach thing but like you I'd miss the girls and would worry about how useless dh would be at home with them

Shimmer · 10/03/2008 14:50

I'm so dim - i was actually trying to work out what a "lake of apology" was!

Lizz I never wear any makeup during the day! Who can be bothered??? I just about have enough time to wash and dress in the morning, and anyway makeup gives me spots. I do get some on if i have an important meeting at work, or going out in the evening though.

(Just got the Alan Titchmarsh show on in the background. Gosh what a load of shit!)

Kat we haven't had bad weather here either! Well, its been a bit rainy, but hardly the apoloyptic storms that were being forcast!

Many congratulations Mom!!!

I've just eaten 2 cream eggs in a row

Shimmer · 10/03/2008 14:52

apocalyptic, not "apoloyptic"!

Lizzzombie · 10/03/2008 18:00

Am having such a SHIT day.
Firstly - glad that I'm not the only person who pops out without slap on Shimmer - and congratulations on eating 2 creme eggs in a row! Am impressed. I average one a day, but they are no fun atm as I can't taste them due to evil baby cold which I have caught.

LTH - glad you enjoyed your shopping trip and didnt get blown away!

Eah - I am so impressed by your bargains. I like to think of myself as a master bargain shopper but you do beat me!

Right. I need some advice ladies please.
DJ ate 3/4 of a sausage for lunch yesterday. No tea, and took ages to drink his bedtime milk, but guzzled down 11pm milk (with drugs)
Then took ages to drink morning milk, didnt eat breakfast but ate most of one piece of eggy bread and 2 muller star yoghurt thingys.

However.
After getting him washed and dressed this morning he totally sh*t himself in his cot and did the biggest poo in the world. So, bathed and changed him and tidied up.
he had nap, ate most of his lunch.
Then thought I would brave the elements outside and pop into town (5 mins trip) got to the shopping centre and was chatting to the lady in the phone shop when he projectile vomited every last bit of his lunch up and went very pale.
I panicked totally having nothing with me! And ran home in the rain, changed him again and cleaned him up.
All good.
He took 5 oz of milk about 3pm
Then NO dinner - again.
But as I was running his bath this evening he did another HUGE poo - which was WHITE he was in his dirty nappy for literally 5 mins whilst I sorted his bath and he got outrageous nappy rash from it.

I am really concerned about him not eating, but will not worry about it too much as I guess he will eat when he is hungry and is probably feeling a bit pants.
But - whats the white poo thing? Has anyone had this?

Very odd.
Poor little thing.
He is perky in himself and toddling around shouting things at me, and is drinking plenty of water. But he just won't eat.

All opinions welcome!

Wilkie · 10/03/2008 18:39

Not sure about the white poo but sounds like a bug to me. Don't worry about him not eating. If he isn't digesting much it could be bile travelling through his system???

eandh · 10/03/2008 19:45

Lizz - that is Hattie!! She has hardly eaten since Friday lunch time, Mums aid she has done huge exploding poos today and has picked at few bits, but when she gave her dinner she threw up, but shes been toddling around and playing etc so I am assuming she still has this bug but is starting to feel better. Decided I am just going to feed her little and often for next few days

looshkin · 10/03/2008 20:06

Evening all,

I know I was meant to be doing less lurking and more posting but it has been abit mad here.

Lizz - it does sound like a bug and you can expect poo to temporarily change especialy if it is mainly milk that has stayed down. When W had chicken pox/hand foot and mouth he had really nasty ulcers in his mough so only ate yogurt for about 5 days and water (he will not drink milk after I stopped bf when he turned 1yr) and his poos changed but then appetitie came back and all fine again. So as long as he is keeping some fluid down and having wet nappies do not worry.

Wilkie great news re house where are you going to be?

2H - re dh sometimes they are just so infuriating I know my dh occasionally looks at MN and sheepishly offers to hoover so lets keep it up - mind you I have got it easy with mine as he does all the dropping off and picking up nursery wise and is a general all round good egg

LTH glad retail therapy has helped. I think you are amazing to have so many dcs how do you survive the day? When previewing my message I added a few extra letters to your name so it is LTHRH (HRH by royal MN decree!!!)

eandh - glad H is on the mend.

CofW yep I prefer huddersfield shopping as well although ds not quite so keen and have to keep stuffing rice cake into him to get through otherwise all it all goes pete tong. By the way have you been to Eureka - is it any good for little ones of our age as the entry price is a little steep?

Right offically need to sort house out - unfortunatley we have all been under the weather I thought I had just bad migraines as last week I have never had a headahce like it. I am getting better but dh is getting worse so much so he was admitted to hopsital today as he is on chemotherapy at the mo for his ulcerative colitis he keeps on getting really high temps and shaking almost like somesort of fit so really worried now as he looks terrible. I think back t last week and wonder if we had a viral menigitis. He will be having CT scans and various tests tomorrow to try and figure out what is happening I think our luck just gets worse. Tonight is the first night I have been alone with ds for over a year as dh would not let me after what happened last year and poor ds is shouting for him in his cot now . I am trying to keep cheerfull and hope it is something relativley simple that can be treated. I cannot imagine losing him after all he has been through. I now i am thinking too far down the line but it is hard not to especailly with the job I do i have seen all the worst cases. Sorry to be so miserable I think I will eat some jammy toast and have an early night.

loosh

PS this cod thing has cheesed me off as well I find some of the 'old school' very clique and so quick to jump on you that I very rarely post anywhere else as it is actually very intimidating even if it is only on the internet it does remind me of school.

Wilkie · 10/03/2008 20:48

Loosh - we are gonna be in Lindley

canofworms · 10/03/2008 21:06

Evening,

Not much to report here - I'm off to bed soon as I'm shattered from being up last night and dh away now so hoping not to have a repeat performance tonight

Sorry there seems to be so many bugs flying around!

Wilkie - we were driving through Lindley today (dh had to drop something off at the hospital) and he was saying what a nice area it was and how good the schools were and he wished we could live somewhere like that.

Loosh - we used to be members of Eureka because it's so expensive just to visit once. I'd say wait until they're about 2 or 3 to take them as a lot of the exhibits are interactive.

I'm feeling a bit worried about tomorrow. My BIL is having a birthday party for my neice after school but I'm at work so he says he'll pick them up from nursery/school. I really don't want him to as I'm not sure they'll have the right car seats and they only moved last week so I don't even know where their new house is! Also he won't really know what to feed lo with her milk allergy. Hope he doesn't take offence when I say no but I'll take them all up myself later. He can be very persuasive so need to practice my skills in assertion!

Reggiee · 10/03/2008 21:57

Hi all.

Quick post - dh's birthday so sneaked on whilst he nipped to the loo...

Eah / Lizz - hope lo's are back to normal soon. White poo?? It reminds me of old conversations I've had that you never see white poo anymore - always saw them on the streets when I was little.........

Wilkie - yay! Gld the house is sorted. BEtter get on with packing now.

Hiya Loosh. Big for you.
Shimmer have you ever eaten 2 creme eggs at the same time? I managed it once, but never again. KEpt me quiet for a good while.

LTH dare I ask how (d)h is? Just do stuff for you and the boys and leave him to fend for himself for a while.

Nipped to Mothercare World to get lo new shoes this afternoon (thanks for the tip off VIno). Then went to Asda Living, and got a bargain (thought of you EaH). Got a little pink purse with lipstick, mobile and compact (all soft fluffy, not real) which Pip loves for £1, but shop assistant pointed me to a soft toy and told me they were coming up on the till for 2p!!

Oh, dh back. We've just had a nom nom curry for tea and are drinking beers.

ladytophamhatt · 11/03/2008 08:55

Morning Girls,

loosh, soory to here about Dh being so ill. It must be scary especially as you obv has 'inside knowledge' with your job. I'll keep all my fingers and toes crossed he makes a super speedy recovery.
BTW, I so pleased you'r back posting with us...this feels like our own private little MN now. I#ve been here a long time but I don't post on much else then silly caht threads or on stuff where I know the OPs origamal situation.

Lizz, G's poos have been a whole erray of colours over teh months, so much so that I can't work out whats normal and whats not, he seems to go through phases of being totally addicted to a certain type/s of food (tis bananas and grapes ATM) so he poos enough to sink a battle ship most days. They always stink though and his nappies are wett so I think he's ok....I think DJ is too, there are soooo many bugs going around atm (don't I knwo it with all the freaking illness we've had thsi yr) so he's going to get all manner of wierd looking nappies until spring springs properly I think.

I'm coming to E'bourne tomorrow, I need to change teh lovely shoes I bought because they're a but too small. Paid for them in sheer excitment and didn't notice that my teos were squashed flat almost!
The shop has ordered me another pair ahd saidthey should be in tomorrow.
Fancy a cuppa if DJ is feeling better?

Ummmmm can't remeber what else I was going to post.

Oh, thats is....I treid my new jeans, top and shoes on yesterday to show DH and asked him what he thought, got the usual non-commital grunt that men do re- clothes.
Then I said "Huh....well this'll serve you right for being so shite, its been an expensive Mothers day and way to apologise hasn't it? Maybe you'll learn now"
He then said his sarcastic "sorry" again and I said "Now, you se being condesending and patronising like that winds me up even more....say it like you bloody mean it"

"why? how much did you spend?" he said

"Hmmm....ohhhh about.....ummmmm about £120"

I did get a few more "you;re shite" digs in too but I think you getthe picture.

Am just going to phone the hair dressers now to extend his apology see if I came get a appt for today.

TTFN

Lizzzombie · 11/03/2008 08:56

2p for a soft toy!
Ot sort of makes you feel a bit bad for the chineese people who are paid that to make them doesnt it?
(good bargain though!)

Well, DJ woke at 3am and one and off for an hour drank water and dozed, until, at 4.30am he sat up in my bed and projectile vomited the water over every piece of bedding. Thank goodness it was only water as I feel that rough there is no way I could have dealt with proper puke at that time in the morning!
He little bum is as red as a baboons' and he has a slight temperature. We are going to the Drs later this morning. Hopefully it just a small bug as like EaH's Hattie, he is normal in himself.
Ugh.
I just want to go to sleep for 24 hours! (went to bed at 8pm last night!)

Lizzzombie · 11/03/2008 08:58

LTh - Am working till 1pm tomorrow (if Dj is back at nursery) but am free in the afternoon.
Come into town in the afternoon and show off your new hair cut!
Men are shite. I recommend voodoo.

ps - have a problem as I cant smell anything I can't smell if Dj needs his nappy changing! oops.

ladytophamhatt · 11/03/2008 09:01

what 2p bargain lizzz....what did I miss?

Lizzzombie · 11/03/2008 10:13

Rgee got a soft toy in Asda for 2p!!!

vinorouge · 11/03/2008 11:32

AM working but am feeling het up. Was just thinking about maternity leave, realised I've not had a MATB1 yet (its just temp midwifes at my surgery cos of long term sick) and that I have to get it to work by next Weds cos am 26 weeks next Thurs. I have an appt next Tues but am panicking cos I won't be able to post it and getting there is a pain on the bus, plus I have loads of work to do. Tried to get an earlier appt but no joy. The receptionist doesn;t think midwife can give a MATB1 without seeing me but will ring me back. I got a bit stroppy really cos they should have given it to me at the last appt.

RGee- great bargain

Lots og bugs at the moment!

Loosh / CofW -Ellen has gone to Eureka today with nursery cos there are only 4 of them in her room today. I was going to see if she'd had fun maybe go again muself cos have been looking online and it looks cool.

eandh · 11/03/2008 13:18

Afternoon - another projictile vomit night/day here, she went to bed fine woke at 2.30 dh went in and she's vomited everywhere, I stripped bedding he changed her and then she slept with me and dh slept on sofa bed. Back to dr's this morning, he did a 30minute examination (was a lovely dr apparently he is our allocoated Dr but never seen him) Hattie was so miserable in the waiting room and in his room but he was so nice and gentle with her and didnt rush. She has an ear infection in both ears so anti b's for that, revised her inhaler prescription as she is very chesty, wants to see her again at 4pm today if she hasnt done a wet nappy (she was dry all night and so far still no wee) and if she is still being sick on Thursday wants to see her again then.

He said this particular bug is a 5 day bug anf this is her 5th day of vomiting so she should start getting better, obviously her temp has been because of ear infection wish the stupid Dr at out of hours place on Saturday had checked her ears.

Anyway gave her anti b's at 11.15 she slept from then till a minute ago and is now walking about and drinking and sucking an ice pop so am hoping they've started to kick in.

Vino - grrr at matb although my boss didnt send mine to HR dept till I was 30 weeks so hopefully it'll sort itself

LTH - any luck at hairdressers?

Lizz- what did Dr say?

Loosh - thinking of you, let us know if there is anything we can do to help

Need to go and sort the mound of sick covered washing out (oh the joys of being at home!)

ladytophamhatt · 11/03/2008 15:01

Sympathy sent from here eandh, we've had one of those ongoing bugs before(ds2 iirc when he was about 2-3yrs old) and its not nice. Maybe part of it is teh ear infection too...you know, she's already on a low ebb so the bug is taking longer to shift.
Either way, Its horrible when they're ill for so long.

had my hair cut, it looks FAB although she's cut it a weeny bit too short atthe back. I have areally strong hairline at the nap of my heck, like a ducksarse of the 80's...anyone remeber those hairstyles?..well mine grow natural like it....
Anyway Its a teeny bit to poshspice for me beacsue as she was cutting and realising the dodgy hairline she had to cut it shorter to make the bit further up blend better, Kind of hard to explain.
It does look bloody good (if I say so myself) but I jsut know I'm going have a nightamre when I do it trying to get the back bit to lay flat.

Hey ho.....It'll grow backa dn it was lovely being pampered

ladytophamhatt · 11/03/2008 15:02

Your GP sounds FAB aswell!

eandh · 11/03/2008 16:44

Just get the straigtners out and straighten it to death!!! Was George with you or did MrLTH look after them all?

I am going ot make sure if we ever need prebooked appt that I make it with that Dras he was fantastic (we go to a huge surgery with 10 Gp's and 4 nurses so we hardly see the same one except Dr Christmas who Ellie thinks is Father Christmas )

Lizzzombie · 11/03/2008 17:59

Glad your Drs went well EaH - I always feel like I have a bad case of PRB when I go to the Drs.

He said his ear was a little bit inflamed but he didnt want to put him on anti biotics as that could cause more stomack upset. He gave me dioralite, but I'm not sure how to give it to him as he's drunk no water today. And refused everything to eat. He had a bottle of water at lunch time, so hopefully he will take another bottle this evening in lieu of tea.

He's totally perky though, and apparently doesnt have a temperature, but he still feels hot to me.

His nappy rash is awful though. Its just flared up. I'm going to sit him in a long bath with oilatum. Not sure of anything else which could help.

I kept him off nursery today, but he is going in tomorrow hopefully.

lth - glad you got your hair done, it always gives me a boost when I get mine done, I hope you sasheyed all the way home!

Lizzzombie · 11/03/2008 18:00

doh - PFB not PRB.
