Brrrrrrr is the forecast Uni, you may get snow, great for Ice Skating I imagine
Have a great weekend

Caddy, grrrr at the silly dentists, its obviously a genetic thing, sigh for you. Good that its as fixed as it can be

Am trying to warm up watching place in the sun, whilst typing, huddled by the radiator, brrrrrr.

dd2 been a grump all day, the only thing to cheer her up was a dose of calpol at 2pm, followed by her tagging along to one of dd1's friends parties.

Cadmum · 29/01/2009 21:17

X-posts Uni: Have a fabulous time. Best of luck with the skating and the museum. I meant to mention that DD1 can ride her unicycle. Thanks for much for giving me the confidence to buy her one!

Frizbe · 29/01/2009 21:28

well done Caddys dd1

Cadmum · 29/01/2009 21:45

Thanks Friz (From dd1)!

Now if only I could teach her to love reading...

UniS · 29/01/2009 22:08

Welcome to the Uni club Caddys DD. Once you are up on one wheel you can go any where.

Frizbe · 31/01/2009 17:23

Bloomin kettle broke this am, have brought a stove top replacement, see if that one stays alive a bit longer

UniS · 01/02/2009 21:43

eeek- I keep not quite finding this tread in teh new design. not very keen on it myself.

Weekend in Cornwall was fab. Boy took to skating rather better than we expected. He loved it. Feet just big enough for proper skates, he went round and round between me an ddh or with just one of us holding him. even did a tiny bit solo.

Astrophe · 02/02/2009 00:58

Took me a while to find you as my 'watched threads' have all disapeared with new layout!

Well done fo both your DDs Caddy - glad the cycling is going so well, and gladd the little one has the tooth more or less repaired. Grrr at the silly dentist - how frustrating that they don't listen properly .

Uni - glad the weekend away was good fun and that your boy likes skating. DD fancied it when she saw people skating in hyde park beforw christmas, but we didn't try it. We have in indoor rink near us here, maybe we will try it soon

DD's 2nd day at Kindy today - I am so proud of her - she told me she was feeling shy, but then went and said hello and introduced herself to another girl, very bravely. Afer her 1st day the teacher said "Lucia? oh, she was great, she owns the place!"...so I think she has settled in ok!

DS is having a great game with DH, rolling balls back and forth and play wrestling (DH's wrestling resulted in DS's bleeding nose last week...charator builing for boys to wrstle though I'm sure!)

No work yet for DH. still looking of course...

Had a good weekend - BBQ with old friends - DD's Godparents and DS's Godparents. Spent the whole day in the pool, DS spent the whole time climbing out and jumping back in. H is very happy to be under the water now and would go down to the bottom, be pulled up by us, come up spluttering and then say "do it again!". Swimming lessons starte last thurady and both kids went well, happy to get i the pool with teacher rather than me or DH, so hooray for that.

Very jealous of your cold and snow up there!

UniS · 02/02/2009 20:25

We do have teh extremes of weather on this thread don't we. LOL at Astro and your tales of sunny swimming sessions while we are - even in devon- huddling under a blanket of the white stuff.
We are keeping an eye on teh boiler drain this time, I cleared it of ice before going to work and of snow on returning home from work.

Frizbe · 02/02/2009 21:42

Astro your pool tales are lovely and warming on a day like this Glad you had a great weekend.

I've posted our weekend nightmare (ok it was Sunday night) on my blog, if any of you get time to read, shout if you want the blog details again, along with photos of our snow! we have lots, tis great

Caddy those phots of your mob are great your kids are so good looking dd1 looks like a heartbreaker, give her a few years eh I so wish we had access to good ski runs, but still at least we have snow, and I did LL's trick of taking the sledge to bring dd1 home from school tonight

Frizbe · 02/02/2009 21:43

Sorry Uni, meant to say before I hit post, I hope your boiler carries on working

Frizbe · 03/02/2009 20:00

Boo, where is everyone? sledging?
We've not had a snow day here, even though we have a good 6" of snow....so dh and I have been to NEC to Spring Fair instead, roads were nice and clear

UniS · 03/02/2009 20:06

Boy built a snowman. he was sooo proud of it when I picked him up from nurture group. W walked to the childrens centre through teh valley park in the snow with it snowing a bit as well. We may not get more snow in Devon for years so I want him to make the most of it.
Boiler still working thanks.
Blog? go on send us alink. Just how bad was your weekend.

Frizbe · 04/02/2009 18:21

I'll mail it to ya Uni!

Frizbe · 05/02/2009 09:09

and that's reminded me to Uni! will do next.

Snow day here still falling at the moment. Dd1 very happy, as 1st snow day they've had sledge is at the ready by the front door, wellies too, will wander out in a bit, as need to do post for dh at work and have to fetch more coffee too (the important things in life)

laundrylover · 05/02/2009 12:42

Hello from the snowy north!

Total whiteout here but at least school and playgroup have reopened. I've had a crazy week in Manchester and London and am off to the spa tomorrow. We have made a back up train plan in case the road over the moors is bad.

Good to catch up with all your news....not sure I like the new layout but at least my watched threads have returned.

Right, off to make some lunch for me and my snotty daughter.

Frizbe · 05/02/2009 17:07

Hi LL, is that Sheffield Spa? have you been before? I've heard its very nice

Have had a great day making snowmen (2, one at Meris and one at mine, on da blog)and snowballing loads of kids (and them me)

Frizbe · 06/02/2009 22:02

Uni, how's the snow down your way then?
Hoping to get some sledging done this weekend here, just waiting for dh to spare a mo away from the shop, so someone can stand at the top of a hill with one dd, whilst the other goes down with the other one!

UniS · 07/02/2009 21:41

We got a snowman built yesterday. not very big, but we only have a little garden and I was removing all teh snow from one end of teh grass. also introduced boy to the joys of throwing snowballs. Now snow has all gone.
Had 2 house veiwings in 2 days! Fingers Xed.

Frizbe · 09/02/2009 20:21

for snowman, ours is just holding up, but we're getting sleet/rain at the moment, so it may all be gone by morning I much prefer proper winters with loads of snow!

Great news re house viewings, fingers x'd you can get shifting then? is the other place still available?

UniS · 10/02/2009 23:09

regreatably neither of teh two veiwings have had postive feedback. It is an unussual lay out, but its really not that odd to live in.
Thiu far teh house we want is still on market, but owner is looking for a tennent.

Boy has Chicken pox. Arrrgh. Still could be worse, he has 12 days to get over it before his birthday party. So SHOULD make his own party. Not toooo itchy yet, has had nails trimmed and is covered in double base to keep skin soft and silky.

Astrophe · 11/02/2009 02:52

argh, Uni, hope he doesn't have it bad. Get some Piriton and keep him doesed on that if he gets itchy.

All well, here...watching the news in horror at the fires in Victoria

Frizbe · 11/02/2009 21:26

Astro, its horrible isn't it Hope you don't have any family/friends down there Not that that makes things any better

Uni, sorry the viewings aren't going too well, I didn't think that your house layout was that unusual, its something I'd be happy to live with! Sorry to hear about boy have pox as well, porridge oats in a muslin in the bath make the itching less too, dd1 had it over her 3rd birthday too, although we had to cancel her party, as she errupted the day before! still better now than later

UniS · 11/02/2009 22:41

had another viewing today! 3 in under a week, maybe people are looking at houses again. reassuring that we have price about right any how.
I did warn them about the CP, but they wanted to come today- older couple with kids grown up and let home.

laundrylover · 11/02/2009 22:57

Uni, good news on the house front -I did hear that people are buying again. We sold my great uncles house (for a pittance) last week so the estate is all cleared up now.

Pox - hope he doesn't get too many spots in uncomfortable places!

FRiz, the spa we go to is titanic. Lovely.

Astro, the fires are terrible eh? I haven't seen the news today but guess they are still burining.

My girls are soooo ready for half term! Crying and fighting non stop - it's awful!!!

Our architect came round today to talk about our extension plans for this summer. Then we had to have an interview with a social worker as we are supporting our friend's application to apopt. Invoiced for half an hours work. Will be a teeny extension at this rate!!!
