OMG where did the time go Are you coming back to the UK before you guys fly back? (sorry can't remember) Oh its all come round so quickly Drat re the meet up, would have been lovely to say bye in person, never mind, there's always Singapore

UniS · 18/07/2008 21:11

Thanks for teh offer of car seat, but I'm sorted. and no, i didn;t know anyone going your way .
As borowed car seat works with a lap belt, boy was teh only child on the childrens centre trip coach trip in a car seat! someother families did take own cars.
Day trip was OK, glad we only paid half normal price for Crealy Theme park, not worth 12 quid to go there with a 2 yr old who doesn't like getting wet or scared. he did like the pedal tractors (only 3 of them) and pound in slot motor bike( only one of) . Didn;t get on big train ride as only one ride while we were there and we missed it, JUSt got a ride on little train before it shut for lunch.

Astro- Hope your packing goes alright, its a tough job.

Frizbe · 19/07/2008 22:10

for car seat sorted Uni. If it goes too quiet on here, come and join us on Feb thread again eh! wot with Uni heading round Europe, we'll be down to just us three and the occasion caddy and dtm!

UniS · 21/07/2008 19:45

Busy few days, next fews days look just as busy then we be off to denmark for a bit. will have to see just what kind of net connection we have there.
HAd good afternoon out at Bicton Park today, 3 small boys 3 mums, in play ground all 3 boys found differnt thing to enjoy and 3 mums found 1 bench that we could see all 3 from. happy every body. Boy didn't like the bouncy castle noise so we didn't spend time in the play barn.

Hes gone to bed tired out.
I've made soup for tomorrow. made jam last night- yummy blackcurrent. Tomorrow boy is with Ks mum in morning then I go and take over while Ks mum goes to work in afternoon. I'm going to take boy and K into town on the bus to do a few jobs I have and go to the kids library. fingers crossed, I shaln't have the double buggy, so hope they behave OK.

Frizbe · 22/07/2008 23:15

How did it go Uni, did you make it back unscathed?

Anyone else getting night terrors here? last week has seen dd2 yelling out twice, poor mite.

UniS · 23/07/2008 22:12

Old hands at night terrors here. This week its been waking us up by yelling he needs a wee- one of us goes up, gets hoim out of bed pull sdown his Pjs and he sits on potty and wee, then goes back to bed. Hes not quite awake enough to do by himself seemingly. We shall ditch the night time pull ups once back from holiday, they have been dry for last 10 days.

tesco DVD rental are gits.

Town trip yesterday with boys was fine. boy told me he needed a wee JUST as bank cashier handed me large ammount of foreign currency. OH joy. rapid count and sign followed by swift removal from bank and into Boots to find staf memeber to let us into loo there. he made it, just.

Frizbe · 25/07/2008 17:27

Phew for you both making it, brings back nice memories of me sitting dd1 on the porta potty in a shop and letting her have a poo she couldn't wait, and I was damned if I was changing knickers etc! luckily the staff were very nice about it (twas the Disney shop!)
Have a great hols

Frizbe · 29/07/2008 14:03

Gah you're all away I'll just talk to myself then. Happy Birthday to me

laundrylover · 30/07/2008 12:04

Happy Birthday for yesterday Friz!!! 21 again??

Got back from Scotland last night after leaving my sis and Kito back in hospital. She had mastitis all weekend and then just went downhill....had some clot or something stuck it seems so admitted for IV antibiotics and more drugs to contract and relax uterus. Anyway she is home again and heaps better. She has to wait until Monday to see what has dropped out and then will have a D and C if needed - hopefully all be gone.

We had lunch on the way home with my other sis and Isaac who we called Kito throughout!! They look very alike too. She is heading up to Scotland for a week next Friday so they can feed their lookalikey babies and eat cake everyday.

Soooo much work to do before we head to Wales for week on Friday.....erk!

Astro Bon Voyage - can't believe you're off already. Hope you get on here tomorrow - will check but if not check in from Europe and keep us updated. Very ....have a fab, fab, fab time all of you.

Astrophe · 31/07/2008 10:04

Sorry al, have been SO busy!!! But getting there. All the shipping went last week without a hitch, and had a car boot sale on the weekend and made over £100, so that was good too. This week has been lots of catching up with people and 'last trip to...' activities, and lots of filing, sorting, internetting, phone calls, plastering, painting etc etc until late every night. I am exhausted, but things are going ok and I'm sure we will get everything done.

We had a big farwell BBQ the other weekend and all our friends had made the most wonderful scrapbook with photos, keepsakes etc, and a memory quilt...cue sobbing from lots of the womenfolk I'm so sad to leave.

Heading off on Monday. Thanks all of you for being such lovely MN buddies I will keep in touch, but it will be sporadic.
xxxx

laundrylover · 31/07/2008 10:55

OP posts:
Frizbe · 31/07/2008 21:50

here too, our meet ups won't be the same without you guys! but have a really fabby time around Europe, give Caddy some big hugs from us all and we'll await your online adventures

LL, glad you had a great time as sis's house, sorry to hear that she's not been so well though, but good to hear she's on the mend

Frizbe · 31/07/2008 21:51

So all good here, bar the twerp who just rammed his car into the lampost outside the shop this evening. Lampost went through upstiars window, before hitting the floor, luckily no one hurt on ground, bar the ejit, who was driving the car, brigade were cutting him out, last thing I heard. (he's not in a good way, bounced off the windscreen) So thankful no kids hurt, as shop full at the time playing games.... Window upstairs belongs to other offices to, so luckily no mess for me or dh to clean up. Landlord is getting someone out to check structure to be sure this evening and do all the boarding up etc. I think my campaign for a speed camera/another crossing on the street may come to fruition shortly Seems the boy racers are aiding the retailers cause unwittingly.

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 04/08/2008 10:14

hey frizbe i'm here (munz)

prev DTM as well - xh has been reading my posts again - and didn't like what he saw - (look for this name for the full story)

i'm usually over ont he LP boards - they're a nice bunch of girls.

things are plodding on here - am doing an OU course, boy's doing v well. I'm in the gym a few times a week with DS in the creche there. thinking about going back to work next month.

have a fabby new chap - (much better than the last one!) seems to adore me - is keen to meet DS as well but one step at a time n all that jazz! life my end is going v well - only wish XH wasn't trying to be as controlling as he is/has been - esp as new chap is already talking about spending the rest of his life with me/DS but really (as long as he's not like the rest - nice to start with but then abusive/a twat - there has to be some nice ones right??)

what's going on with u gals anyhow?

Frizbe · 05/08/2008 22:20

Ooooh Spandex, your new bloke sounds lovely good to hear that things are going well for you, do you have his pic on facebook yet? I've not been on there for ages, but am going to pop on for a look in a mo,whilst I have a sec!

Sorry to hear ex h being an arse......he decided to leave, muppet eh can't complain now Glad you life is back on track, are you going backto accounts again? or something different?

Uni, well done on your race Denmark sounds lovely, is it still expensive?

All good here, the kids went to the seaside with mum and dad yesterday, then did a sleepover, (but dh and I couldn't go out or do anything, as we still had ss here ) but they had a great time with the grandparents, which is what counts

gothicmama · 05/08/2008 22:25

HI I forgot about this thread I can't believe you have all kept it going. I can't believe the LO are coming up for 2 and a half.

Frizbe · 05/08/2008 22:40

Hi Gothic, yep we're still flogging away!

gothicmama · 05/08/2008 23:21

I'm glad you all have, am on Mat leave and have been catching up on MN.

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 06/08/2008 09:33

yeah he's on there well no pics of us together just yet, (have issues at the mo with those ones - bit complicated friends here think we're together still (X&I) cos of this house but anyhow, if you look under my profile you can link to his profile. As mum says - much better than the last one! lol.

Exactly - X decided to leave, he wants to be a single man and do his thing but doesn't want me to get on with my life/do my thing - all the while claiming he doesn't care!?! does checking my posts on here sound like a man who's happy with his choices in life? anyhow.

the courses i'm doing is OU maths - have the first stage now, hopefully a pre degree in october and then the degree next september (fingers crossed) will prob do that in uni thou. The eventual aim is to be a maths teacher in seniors school. I might go back to my accounts short term but tbh I don't like doing it, I hate it in fact so am trying to wonder if working in tescos would be better or not??

it's typical eh you get the night alone and still can't go out! DS was at mums last week, I thought woohoo man's stopping over (he doesn't stay when the boy's here) can have a lovely night out, can go to the pics, can have a lay in in the morning, man came down tired from work - we got a pizza and a bottle of wine from tescos and curled up under the duvet watching outbreak! (I ask you! lol) and then the next day I was awake an hour & a half earlier cos he wanted dropping at the station for work! typical!

ooh maternity leave gothic - how old is dc2??

gothicmama · 06/08/2008 20:50

,
I have not had dc3 yet (dd is 7, Ds is 2), I am glad you sound positive spandex I think I responded to or read at least on eof your threads and did not realise it was you, I think Tesco's is teh place everyone wants to work at when they are dissatisfied with their job. glad you have a good chap.

UniS · 08/08/2008 19:48

I'm back. Hi. lots happening over last few days. Have accepted ( a stupidly low) offer on this place, had our ( far higher than we would have liked) eventual offer accepted on house we like in South Zeal. fingers Xed it all comes off OK.
Denmark trip was fun. lots of hanging out with friends, good party on the last night with plenty of good danish food and two sports halls so one was noisey with banging disco tunes and one was full of people trading T-shirts and trinkets with folk from other teams. Boy has some Ts to grow into! over the next 7 years.
Liquorice ice cream- yummy. Frikadeller ( meat balls) yumy , cinnamon rolls- yummy, various sweet pastries- all V yummy.

Frizbe · 08/08/2008 23:48

Liquorice Ice Cream sounds interesting, have had garlic ice cream, which was nice, but not tried Liquorice yet.
for the house Uni, Meridian has also just recieved a completion/moving date for her's so must be an auspicious time for house moving Glad you had a great time whilst away. Did you get to visit the old hippy comune in Copenhagen?

Congrats Gothic , do you know what flavour bump is?

DTM for new guy and for degree, a good maths teacher is worth their weight in gold and I can totally understand you not wanting to go back to doing accounts, I personally hate doing it, and can't wait till I can outsource ours to an employee next year maybe or knowing my luck the year after....
