Cadmum · 03/07/2008 11:41

ll: Sorry about your day... Very stressful indeed. What are you going to do?

I had a teary morning as well. Dropped of the form at DD1 and DS2's school with an X in the NO box... I was up most of the night second guessing myself but at least whatever alternative we choose won't cost a fortune and involve adding 90 km to the car everyday. How come I still feel like crying?

laundrylover · 03/07/2008 13:03

Caddy, you are teary simply because you have made a decision that you've been putting off for so long. It is the right decision though as you've thought long and hard about it. If it mkes your life simpler then it is GOOD!

Don't worry about me - I can try for an appt tomorrow and if not the horrible receptionist will ask him to do a repeat prescription. Will get drugs somehow.

twas during relaxation exercise. I like summer term, we get to do lying relaxation. I have managed to fall asleep sitting tho as well.

oops at umbrella moment. had to stop self laughing at Boy and J when they ran towards each other today, bumped heads and both fell backwrds. now sport matching bruised foreheads.

Dh gave me pair of long handle lopers. with light weight ABS handles, rather nice. handy for pruning the fruit trees if we are still here in winter or trimming the shrubs if we have moved.

my cake was triple choc cherry fudge cake. yummy.

Frizbe · 03/07/2008 23:06

WOW Uni I want that cake MMMMMMMM

LL sorry to hear about the bitch nice receptionist at the Dr's, go get those drugs tomorrow

Caddy agree with LL, its just the weight off your shoulders.

Glad dd2 gave everyone a laugh

Astrophe · 04/07/2008 16:37

Happy birthday Uni!

LL - did you get to the GP?

I went today, saw the only nice GP at the surgery, he has prescribed beta blockers for my ever worsening migraines. I'm hopeful, but possible side effects are weight gain and tiredness...not desirable!

Have had my bro and sil here this week and its been brilliant.

Frizbe · 05/07/2008 18:02

Astro, glad you enjoying your Bro's visit! Does he live in Sydney too?

We've been to Litchfield Medieval Festival today, only got two hours, as that was all the parking we could find and that cost £1.80 I can get a day in our town for that! have a nice new vase that I don't really need though need to get new photo frames to match now Managed a quick wang around the market stalls and dd1 got to go on the bouncy slide thing, and we ran into some larp mates too, so a nice afternoon, if a long way for such a quick visit.

UniS · 06/07/2008 20:09

Rian rain rain, that what this weekend has been. Yesterdday we did colouring, lego, train set , indoor cricket and skittles type games and dvds. So today we did difernt things.
I needed to pop into community hall to do a minor repair so dh and boy came too so boy could ride a bobby car around the hall in splendid isolation with out having to take turns.
We drove out if town to the Waie Inn for lunch and a few hours in their play barn, boy got all hot and sweaty while dh or I alternatly watched the rain lash on the windows or carried a mat up the steps for boys un numbrered decents of the big wavey slide.

Very tired boy after that. I'm really hoping he sleeps through after that, last few nights have not been good.

Shoes- Clarks- don;t get me started. I am not happy with how they measue kids feet in our local clarks, they measue with kid sitting down and claim the system allows for foot spread on standing. So had boy measured there - 61/2 i - they don't do wider than an h so bought some 7h doddles from the sale. then took him down the road to the shoe maker-his main shoes need a width stretch. Shoe maker measuers his feet then looks it up, a k in width when he is standing on his feet. K, flipping hell.

Hope you guys have all had better weather than us. esp Caddy as you start the summer holidays.

laundrylover · 07/07/2008 09:41

Hmmm, I posted last week but it's not there. I did say Happy Birthday to you Uni though!

Astro, I hope the side effects are not too bad then.

I got to GPs Friday and am back on ADs every day - phew.

Tilly had a tummy bug all weekend so am knackered as was up all Sat night. She is off school today to recover but DP has taken them out so I can get some work done...

OP posts:
Frizbe · 09/07/2008 23:36

Ah yes Uni, Clarkes are a sod for fittings, they don't do a H in girls unless its ordered in, so I swapped to startrite for a while with dd1 as her feet went really wide, much better shoes in fact. (my mother brought me up in start rite )
Rain here too, bah, bah, bah.

LL, odd re the post, what a bummer. Glad your back on form with the ad's though.

Had an odd kinda day off today, went to get a new swimsuit today,(dragged dd2 and Meridian with me) managed to get one for £3.00 in Next Clearance Sale, so went for a Starbucks (so much for the latte ban ) then as dd2 threw a paddy. So I ditched her swimming and grabbed dd1 and her mate from preschool and we all went to Chucklebutties instead, which is the local playcentre with good coffee, so I kinda had a proper outing, something we've not done in ages This avo the girls both did Ballet as usual, dd2 got her 1st pair of shoes, awww bless, little size 7 pink ballet shoes with her pudgy legs sticking out the top, she looked a cutie.

UniS · 10/07/2008 09:40

I've been wonering about trying boy with baby ballet. he likes jumping and running and pretending to do things/ be people, maybe ballet would be a good focus. probadly not a good time of year to start a las tho, might have to wait till sept .

laundrylover · 10/07/2008 16:55

Just back from my spa break - wow, it was FAB. Have to go and pick the girls up in the rain now so back to reality.....

My sis in Scotland is in labour at last so should have another niece or nephew soon....third this year!!

OP posts:
Frizbe · 10/07/2008 23:34

LL hope everything is going well for her and you have a new family member in tow very soon

Uni, dd2 loves it, waving about little bits of fabric and wands not sure how many dance places close for summer? our place is just moving, because the school shuts, so the kids will have to go to another hall, but they carrying on running for those that are about.

Off to Wales for the weekend tomorrow, wil keep an eye on here before we go though (I'm running Pokemon till 7.30 tomorrow night, so will be nearish pc) for your good news LL (hope she's popped by then!)

laundrylover · 11/07/2008 15:00

Baby boy, Kito (Key-toe) born at 2.19am. Sounded like a lot of hard work! He was 7lb 1.5oz but very long.
3 new nephews in 6 months!!!

OP posts:
Astrophe · 11/07/2008 20:44

Hurrah, welcome Kito!

UniS · 13/07/2008 11:14

Hello- busy w/end here. running a uni event this aftrenoon. took boy for bike ride in woods yesterday, he must have riden over a mile, getting quite fast now and starting to really glide and balance.

Frizbe · 14/07/2008 22:53

LL those photos of your new nephew are so sweet, even had dh cooing this am

at boy Uni, that's good stuff, I got two new inner tubes for the bike I got given the other weekend today, and I priced up a bike seat for dd2 to go in as when Meridian moves house I shall use the bike to get over to hers, and dd1 can ride her's, but the roads/pavements will be too busy for dd2 in learner stage I think.

I got to dress as a Geisha this weekend wig the works, I didn't look too bad actually two photos on the website if anyone has time to go digging, linked off our forum boards Also got to be a Master of Death flattening people with poison kisses
The girls had a great time, mainly digging in sand, though dd2 kept saying to her daddy, I got two wings, two wings! even though she didn't have any wannabe faries eh! She also took to calling everyone Pumpkin Head, and giggling a lot although this mornings trick was to say 'don't like that', on repeat for an hour so we took her to nursery and she really didn't like that!

UniS · 16/07/2008 20:29

friz- if boys speed is any thing to go by- yes dd2 will be better off on a bike seat for a while. I can get him to ride to the childrens centre but it takes 30 min, normal walk with buggy 10 min.

Am full of cold and feeling rough. HAvn;t prepared anything for a short talk I'm giving tomorrow, oops- ought to do a bit I guess.

Tried to buy a new car seat for boy, on of those 9kg to 11 years ones. Howver the 3 that halfords had in none of them fit our car. RATZ. I sent his car seat off to Denmark in my parents car yesterday. now have 10 days to get my hands on a car seat we can use for a month till we get our back. have a couple of possible leads, so hope one of them will work.

Another veiwing of house tomorrow, and a 3rd veiwing from somebody on sat. fingers Xed she likes it enough to put an offer on.

Are you all on scxhool hols now or like devon do you have a week to go? lots of the preschools are breaking up this week tho which is confusing.

Frizbe · 16/07/2008 22:37

Devons already broken up

Schools here break up end of next week, ss is Yorkshire and he's the week after!

Pre school breaks on Friday though

Nightmare re the car seat, we had that problem with dd1's old seat when we swapped cars, lots of buckle crunch thingy....so it was new car and new seat in the end, but that's not what you want for only 10 days!

Have horrible storm tension headache coming on, hope we finally get a good storm, it seems to have been threatening for days.

laundrylover · 17/07/2008 09:20

No we don't want a storm!!! Sitting here looking at the pouring rain with a hallway full of festival camping gear.

Uni, fingers crossed for the house viewers - get that bread baking etc!

I reckon Latitude is going to be washout eh? Please send me your top tips for wet camping asap!

BTW we have another week of school up here but for some unfathomable reason Tilly's playgroup finishes on Weds...I've booked work in Blackpool on Thurs morning so have had to ask my neighbour to pick T up from school and give her lunch. What a pain.

OP posts:
Astrophe · 17/07/2008 12:33

hello all, I have 3 hours without kids, DD at nursery and Ds with a mate. So much to do! I am ticking jobs off my list every day, but adding things just as fast!

Shipping goes on Wednesday, but DH has the day off and both kids in nursery on monday, so we should be ok. Madly listing furniture and thr car for sale on ebay...its all getting a little stressy. On the upsde, we have booked a gorgeous looking farmstay for 5 nights in september, in some mountains in the Czech republic! It will be our half way break from being in the van...I'm very excited

Uni - on the off chance somone you know is coming north in the next day or so, I have a car seat I would happily give you! Long shot I know...

LL, take a milltion changes of clothes, get some waterproof over trousers (the muddy puddles rainflex ones are good) if you can, take a doormat and lots of terry nappies for drying off feet etc...laptop and DVDs, just in case? We always gt bubbles and kids magazines for camping trips - they seem to love the novelty of magazines. Good luck!

laundrylover · 17/07/2008 13:32

Astro -got wellies and waterproofs and we are taking the bike trailer which is really watertight as a buggy...not good if very muddy though so have backpack carrier and sling too. Doormat good idea....nappies - will see if I have any left!

Yesterday we spent £67.50 in Nectar points on a twin in car DVD for £75 from Argos...we have trips to Southwold, Inverness and the Pembrokeshire all in the next two weeks!!

Astro, check out the offer at Argos, can't find it online but was instore hidden in a little book of special offers. Would be great for your van eh?

OP posts:
laundrylover · 17/07/2008 13:32

OP posts:
Frizbe · 17/07/2008 23:09

LL not good timing at all and OUCH for you Hope it stays dry for you???? I do think your a little mad for fitting all those places into the next two weeks though

Astro, OMG do you go next week? can't believe we've not had chance for a last meet, I feel so crap! doh! What day do you leave on? you must keep in sporadic touch with us all from various net cafes!

Uni, fingers so x'd that you shift your house.

Astrophe · 17/07/2008 23:14

I go on the 4th, shipping goes next week still, not time for a meet up I don't think
