Hey, I am in London on the 11th and morning of the 12th... (Friday and Saturday) and again from the 14th-17th of August.

I still haven't said anything to the school...

I picked up dd1 at 9:30 am after she vomited three times. I have been ill since Tuesday and DS2 was sick from Saturday at 4:00am until Tuesday. FUN... FUN... FUN!

I have HEd on and off for years... More on than off with DS1 because we have moved so many times! DS2 didn't go to school until this year at nearly 6. So far so good as he is yonks and yonks beyond his peers (but this is not the UK so he would only be in the equivalent of reception).

DD1 started school in London and completed reception but was back home for 2 years before we moved to Vienna.

Complicated this whole school lark! I want to resign...

Cadmum · 26/06/2008 21:11

I have posted on the Geneva thread... Back off to bed. I feel sick.

Frizbe · 26/06/2008 22:14

Hi girls

I can do a Wed Astro, name your date dd2 has swimming, but we can skip a week no probs, and pre school can be missed too for dd1

LL lol at you missing your meeting, maybe your coming down with something? or just too much on your plate? I've been really tired this last week, but think I'm fighting off a bug, that the dd's have had, plus dh had it earlier this week and now dd2 seems to have it again

Caddy {{{hugs}}}} can relate to your lot all being ill

Hi Uni!

Sorry I'm all at sorts, should really go and do the damn ironing, but am obviously avoiding it! why won't my clothes dry straight, sigh.

laundrylover · 26/06/2008 23:04

Oooh Friz, you need some pegging lessons...mind you I have a load drenched on the line right now - they will be very flat if they ever dry!

Sorry to hear of bugs all round. I think you are right Friz and I was coming down with something - couldn't walk back from school today so cadged a lift. Arrival of new sofas perked me up though.

Caddy, your kids education sounds a nightmare.I really think you do a fab job - I would've gone mad by now in your shoes. BTW your dates and days don't match for Aug. Let me know the proper dates and I'll see if I can fix a work trip and meet up...

Weds...can't do next two but could do 16th but am then away on the 23rd. Otherwise I am near Stoke at tea time on Thurs 10th so could pop somewhere for tea on way home??

OP posts:
laundrylover · 26/06/2008 23:06

Meant to say that I am kid free on Weds and on that Thurs - on way back from girly spa break!!!!

Kids break up on the 25th July but we may go up to Scotland then as my other sister's baby will have arrived by then and will need some cuddles.

Cadmum · 27/06/2008 08:50

My kids' education is a nightmare...

My whole life is a nightmare most of the time!

I have not coped particularly well a times but I sure like it here so far. Ask me again in the fall, if I do opt for local schooling. It could very easily do my head in again...

School is over today for my two in school... WELL, technically VERY over for DD2 when she was sick all over the school YESTERDAY!

Still feeling poorly so I must put my head down.

Frizbe · 27/06/2008 20:29

Astro what date do you go again???

LL, {{{Hugs}}} for the feeling poorly, tis not nice, seems an odd bug we have going round her, some people are just very tired with it and feeling pap, other people are getting stomach cramps with it, and the kids are all getting the trots with it and tummy ache, sigh....loads of people I speak to around town have had it, small towns eh

Caddy, are your kids any better?

Uni, Caddy, Astro, LL and anyone else out there lurking what you doing this weekend?

We have gran babysitting tomorrow night hopefully still! they're off for a sleep over, whilst dh and I go to the pub with about 10 of our friends for a meal and a few drinks our 1st whole kid free night in ages!

UniS · 28/06/2008 22:01

hi- brifly waves before running back to RL

Have been with new est agent 6 days, have had 6 veiwings in last 3 days!House now ludicrasly tidy. Dh has delt with boy while I deal with veiwing.heres hoping. feel much more confident that this agent is "working" for us.
this afternoon tho we went out to a play day at localish park. was fun, bumped into a friend from m&T and her two, so boy had 3 yr old R to follow around. boys made masks - stick bits on precut card, R declared he was a super hero, boy doesn't know what that is but he chose to be a circus star when I gave the two options. Parachute games were fun too.

minor tummy bug here at start of week, thought nowt of it, then mum asked if we had been Ok after 90th b/d party as hotel had contacted them due to food poisoning allergation! by party the day after us.

Frizbe · 29/06/2008 10:46

at possible fp Uni, that is not good....lots of bugs going about though, so could be that???
Yay for viewings with new agent, sounds very much good news. Hurrah for agent working for you fingers x'd you get an offer soon.

Can you belive this.... took kids to mums last night, drive all way home (abt an hour each way)as she's having both girls overnight. This is to be 1st night in a year, that dh and I get a whole night to ourselves..... get to pub, order a drink, which never even gets to table, as mum rings, dd2 thrown up, please go get her So Apologise to the 12 people we've invited out, and promptly have to leave the pub, drive another hour each way to get 2 fast asleep dd's who sleep until 6am today and are both fine now
Spent last night being soooo pissed off, in a selfish mummy way.

Frizbe · 29/06/2008 10:47

PS: Know I'm totally selfish, as lots of you don't even get a whole night to yourselves, but as my mother is in the same country as me, kinda like to think that this could just happen, just once a year

meridian · 29/06/2008 10:48
Frizbe · 29/06/2008 10:55

aww ta chick

Astrophe · 29/06/2008 20:52

Aaargh, Friz, that is awful! How frustrating! I'd have been pissed off that my Mum didn't keep her - kids vomnit, doesn't mean they are going to die right!?

Speaking of dying, spent last night at A&E with DS who fell 2 1/2 feet and landed on stone patio on his head then went pale and floppy. I was parking the car as DH carried him to reception, DS fell asleep and couldn't be woken, cue fast action from nurses, who managed to wake him and then left us almost 2 hours waiting to see a doctor . Anyway, he got the all clear and is fine, but a very stressful evening.

Night before (Friday) was very un stressful, as a mate offered to have both kids overnight, so DH and I went out for dinner and movie (sorry Friz!).

Today my Brother and SIL arrived! Haven't seen them in 2 1/2 years! They are already asleep, very jetlagged.

Uni, glad the agent situation seems better.

Caddy - have you decided about schools?

LL - hello!

xxx

UniS · 29/06/2008 21:39

Friz- BUM. glad kids were Ok tho.
Caddy - Its nearly the holidays.... hope you have a goodun.
Just watched St Trinnians ( the recent one) while dh off playing cricket. left brain at door and had enjoyable hour and half on sofa with choc cake.
Have had fab idea for Dh's 40th b/d present next year. a tandem.
waves at all, and runs off back to RL.

Frizbe · 30/06/2008 23:01

Astro, poor ds, is he properly ok now? poor mite, what a horrible shock, take it, it was concussion?

for you and dh getting a night to yourselves, that's fab I've booked our next night to ourselves, Dec 13th, when we're running an event, so just us and 30 odd other people in a dormatory

Tandem good idea Uni you can have a rest on the back although somehow I doubt it.....

Astrophe · 30/06/2008 23:17

He is fine now Friz It was only a matter of time, he is a climber/jumper/runner...a bit accident prone!

Tandem sounds like fun Uni!

Bro and SIL are here this week - so good to see them. Went to the pub at Monsal Head and then to Chatsworth today. Tomorrow walk by the canals and strawberry picking. DH and DB sitting here having a good gas bag now, obviously enjoying catching up. SIL has flaked...might hit the sack myself now.

laundrylover · 01/07/2008 09:23

Morning all and many {{{{hugs}}}} to Friz and Astro. Astro, glad DS is fine but bet it was scary eh? Friz, like Astro, I'd be v. pissed off if my mum did that. Can you not get her to have them again over the summer hols so you can have a night out before Dec???

Uni, sounds like the new agents are much better so here's hoping for continued interest. I have a few friends with houses on the market (and we have my great uncle's on too) and there are very few viewings around at all....

Astro, Tilly was at Chatsworth yesterday - did you spot her??? I went into Manchester with two other mums/friends and we had a fab time! Tried on 15 dresses between us in TKMaxx and I bought 2. Child free Pizza Express too.

Forgot my big news! There are 3 Kiahs at Kiah's playgroup next year and one will be in her preschool class too!!!! One is the child we nicked the name from so serves us right I guess.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 01/07/2008 21:39

at 3 Kiah's, dd1's name is a re-occuring theme quite a lot.......

Yay for fab day out w/out the kids in tow

Fab day for Chatsworth too, for both Tilly and your bunch Astro!

Can we managed to meet before Astro goes then LL?? whaddya reckon? I can waggle work around most things, bar next Fri-Mon (a week on Fri-Mon) when we're in Wales.

Astro, bet your having lots of fun catching up, and you'll get to see them again pretty soon too

Nothing to report here, just working, bah, oh and Hula and Pilates this evening, so will hurt tomorrow

Cadmum · 01/07/2008 21:50

I think that you should meet up near London on the 11th...

No particular reason though!

Sorry for the date confusion. We arrive on Friday July 11 and are back again on August 15 for 3 days. ( I think that the 15th is a Friday, no?)

UniS · 02/07/2008 09:04

Boy stil asleep. think I wore him out yesterday, he cycled a mile + each way. had a rest sitting on his bike frame at teh bottom of our road waving at the school bus kids. early bed time and rubbish night followed- dh and I awake 2-3.30 with boy intermitantly shouting . so I'm letting him sleep.

Caddy- hope yu have a fab time in Canada, and get some teeth looked at .
Friz- LOL at your quiet night together in a bunkhouse full of LARPers.

www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-10643844.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy
is our place. think teh photos are better this time and teh floor plan helps explain teh unconventional lay out. A lay out that sems to be the thing our veiwers last week didn;t like. not a whole lot we can do about it :-( Mind you , personally, I don't think there is a problem with having a door to the garden in one of the bedrooms. no less secure than a window. And I love haing an upstairs living room with a balcony. but I live here so I'm used to it.

laundrylover · 02/07/2008 09:15

Uni, the house looks loads better this time - I agree about the floorplan.

Caddy, do you know when you are in London on the 15th Aug? I could try and work down there on the Thurs and stay over to have a coffee!!

Astro/Friz - I still don't know what date you are leaving!! Next week is a pain for me as am away Weds/Thurs but could still meet up tea time Thurs....

I better get sorted for work as am off to Liverpool to meet that poor group that I forgot all about last week. Will try and pick up a cake on the way as didn't get round to making one.

OP posts:
UniS · 02/07/2008 22:46

were you forgiven when you shoed up with cake LL? I hope you were. I fell asleep in yoga class tonight - twice.
going for lunch with friend and her kids tomorrow, I shall be taking cake as its my birthday.

Frizbe · 02/07/2008 23:30

at falling asleep in Yoga, I take it, it wasn't during relaxation, lol.
The house looks loads better with the panoramic viewing of the living room too fingers x'd you shift it soon.
Have good cake fun tomorrow

LL Thursday could be tight for me next week, but will try and squeeze a teatime meet, if you guys are up for it. Astro?
So LL are you forgiven?

Caddy sorry can't make London on the Friday, off to Wales!

Well seems its a cake day, I just made pink topped vanilla cupcakes this evening, for the girls obviously! yum
Oh and dd2 got an umbrella stuck in her mouth this evening you know the curved ends that the kids ones have on them in the shop, which we'd just brought it from, nice eh.....I got it out after a few seconds, but it caused lots of screaming, but luckily no lasting damage, can you imagine that at A&E

laundrylover · 03/07/2008 09:55

Oh Friz the thought of DD2 with an umbrella stuck in her mouth has really cheered me up - sorry, but thanks.

More smiles at the thought of you falling asleep Uni!

Yes, I was forgiven with the Banana and Walnut cake peeking out of my bag! Mind you a woman left the planning meeting, nearly in tears (not my fault I should add) so maybe a cream cake was needed after all. Must put more planning into my cake choice.

Having a crappy day as have been trying to get GPs appointment all week to go and talk about my (failed) attempt to come of ADs. Receptionist was really rude to me today and now have run out ADs altogether. She made me cry the old cow.

Much better now after dropping into MN!
