Jammy do you REALLY need to even think of justifying your DD to an old bitch busybody?

Just say 'yeah she's chubby but you're old and ugly and she'll lose the weight'

Fury. Have a safe journey home, hun

Pumpkinhead · 14/01/2008 16:15

Hi motherhurdicure and Sputnik - nice to 'meet' you.
What rubbish weather. Been into town this morning and made a stew this afternoon. My life is so exciting right now!
Jammy - what a rude woman. I like babies with a bit of meat on them! I call my LO fatty, but I'm allowed!

LittleMissNorty · 14/01/2008 16:19

They are supposed to be fat - some people really are amazing....most of the comments are nice but some of the old women is Sainsburys I really feel like punching sometimes....DD is beginning to get stranger anxiety, so usually when one of them hang over the trolley, she screams at them now ....

sputnik · 14/01/2008 16:24

I've come to the conclusion that these kinds of comments are just people's lame attempts to say SOMETHING (along the lines of commenting on the hugeness of your bump etc) and don't actually mean anything. Hard not to take them seriously though.

sputnik · 14/01/2008 16:26

Pumpkinhead, you have reminded me I need to think about dinner....

milkyJammy · 14/01/2008 16:26

you're probably right Sputnik

milkyJammy · 14/01/2008 16:27

both about the comments and needing to think about dinner (thanks)

sputnik · 14/01/2008 16:29

I'm in the mood for a curry meself....

I'm always right
Sorry, that's what my DH always says.

milkyJammy · 14/01/2008 16:47

Seems as if we are having veggie stew with chipolata sausages.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 14/01/2008 17:05

Grrrr, and friend and I braved the hideous weather to try a new baby group but it doesn't run any more . That'll teach me to go on Netmums!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 14/01/2008 17:07

Holly! Do you need to "see" someone about this problem...?

milkyJammy · 14/01/2008 17:09

Poor you Bumper. Thankfully I got our walk in before the rain started here. But I have gone out in horrible rain only to find a group had closed in the past, so I feel your pain.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 14/01/2008 17:10

holly and bumper you both win the hun prize
holly for buggies
bumper for going on NETMUMS

you can now get your dcs ears pierced and clad them in head to two nike for babies

must do tea

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 14/01/2008 17:11

head to toe grrr

thisisRialifebaby · 14/01/2008 17:42

I am pushchair inadequate> I have only ever had 1 pram/pushchair combi, 1 stroller, an urban detour and my M&P travel system. And thats for all of the boys

I want a new 3 wheeler

HollyIsAHippopotamus · 14/01/2008 18:24

I do have a problem...a serious one!

I am hankering after a Bugaboo Gecko...badly! I do think my dp would leave me if I got another pushchair. The thing is the straps on the Buzz don't seem to be long enough for either of my dcs, so I can't strap them in. Odd.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 14/01/2008 18:37

I love my buzz, it's just a bugger to get in the car. Sure it has quick release wheels that make it smaller but it's such a faff. If it's in the boot of the car I have to open the car, lay DD in the front seat (how long will that last?), get the chassis out, put the wheels on, put the chair and then get DD in it . Looks dead smart though

annobal · 14/01/2008 18:57

Ah, Bumper, just get a new car

Holly, that is some buggy addiction you have there! I thought I was bad but i pale into insignificance (however i have had 3 phil & teds courtesy of Singapore airlines - the only problem with putting them in the hold is that they tend to kill them...)

HollyIsAHippopotamus · 14/01/2008 19:05

I do love the Buzz, it looks very cool and I love how ds can face me and we can pull faces at each other! It is a right PITA to put in the car as it can't be folded with the seat rearwards, it has no shopping basket and the straps are too short. It is a dream to push one handed though!

The P&T is also a PITA! I went to town today and had to carry most of my shopping as dd's feet were in the shopping basket!

WHy is there no such thing as a perfect pushchair?

HellHathNoFury · 14/01/2008 19:24

Holly why did you get rid of the XLR?
And why a Gecko?! get a cameleon! Much better! (and bigger)

OP posts:
thisisRialifebaby · 14/01/2008 19:27

I want a nice compact off-roader where LO can face me or not, nice high handles so my back doesn't hurt, easy to fold, but as a)this is (more than likely) my last baby and b) I'm seriously tight, I won't be getting anything of the sort unless I find a second hand one that is very cheap. We have a very good shop locally that sells kids stuff for a local kids charity, so I'll keep looking. Nothing like hunting a bargain to get the adrenalin going

FattyFairyFay · 14/01/2008 19:27

Helloooo huns

at all the pushcahirs Holly! I've had 3. an Urban detour and a Maclaren Xt(?) with DD and now a P&T for the 2 of them. still have the Urban Detour in the shed but only because DS is still using the car seat. It will be ebayed/NCT sales very soon.

fwiw Fury, I find having a buggy with pneumatic wheels as well as a small Maclaren really useful as the Maclaren is no good for going for long walks as it's so juddery. It is fab for short trips/shopping/throwing in the back of the car/airplanes, etc though.

Went to say bye to DSis today. She;s at the airport now on her way back to Oz. Was very as although she;s coming back for a week in July, I suspect that she's going to stay in Australia long-term, and I miss having her around.
