I am in a good mood today, perhaps it's because DH got paid.

And the diet is going ok. Once I realised that in order to sit on my arse all day I actually needed very few calories, I found it easier to lose weight. Also if I am hungry I try and ignore it and the 10 minutes later I have usually forgotten I am hungry.
That, combined with Weightwatchers and Orlistat are resulting in a very very slow but sure weight loss - that I can maintain!

I guess everyone is busy today hey!

MHC you don't need to lose weight! I can probably forget I am hungry as I have enough surplus to survive for 3 weeks I think ;-)

Hi Fury, I'm around but having a fed up/grumpy/tired day so I am just lurking.

DD is at her childminder's today so DS and I really should make the most of it and go out but I have no inspiration or energy so I am just watching tv while DS is enjoying playing with all his sister's toys without fear of them being snatched away.

That hotel looks lovely btw

thisisRialifebaby · 25/01/2008 13:48

I have bought Paul McKennas "I can make you thin" DH heard about it on the radio and said I should try it. I'll try anything once, and goodness knows I'm crap at diets. What's Orlistat fury?

DH has just had a spur of the moment meeting with the Head, who was actually very helpul and admitted DS is being bullied and they are monitoring the situation, but they also think DSs BF is stirring the situation and playing DS and the bully off against each other. She also said that DS has a lovely individual personality and she would hate to see him lose it (which was nice) but it sometimes goes against him because he's "different" (ie, not a little thug with a vocabulary like a sewer). DH is going to the PTFA meeting later too Heaven help the school!

thisisRialifebaby · 25/01/2008 13:54

I was going to look at the hotel but I've buggered the taskbar and can't find it.

Saturday menu so far - ginger ice cream with chocolate guinness cake (Nigella's "Feast" book)
Creamy butternut squash and parsnip bake, with plain roast chicken and pigs in blankets for the picky kids (and maybe me, then DH can have lamb). AAARGH! (when I have people round we have egg mayo sarnies and mini sausage rolls and jelly)

Oh I'm bored again. I wish it was bedtime. We have to go shopping after tea today too as DH is taking DM&D to the station to get their train to Manchester after school.

HellHathNoFury · 25/01/2008 13:57

Glad they are looking into the situation Ria

Orlistat is a drug that stops your body from absorbing up to 30% of the fat you eat.
Not a problem most of the time unless you have a curry or pizza in which case all sorts of interesting and gross things happen.

Th point is to (a) decrease your fat intake so helping you lose weight (b) teach you that eating fat is bad as horrid things happen when you do eat it.

And I mean horrid.

That sounds nasty fury.

I have to admit that my favouritest of favourite junk foods do pretty nasty things to me without any help, but it doesn't stop me being a fat greedy pig and eating them. Oh well, early days. DS1 was at school by the time I lost my baby weight from him

I think we'll go for a walk soon, but it looks so cold and windy out there. We might be able to collect DS1s new glasses, slightly Dr Who inspired

HellHathNoFury · 25/01/2008 14:10

Not nasty, it's fab! As long as you are near a loo. At all times.

lol aw im sure we're not doing it on purpose.

ellen has finally got the hang of going forwards today.. not with any speed mind you but she is getting better.

we have the soft blocks too

milkyJammy · 25/01/2008 14:57

We just went to HV clinic and then to Sainsburys. C weighs 18lb 14oz. On the way back my ankle went crack and intense pain shot through it, making me feel sick and dizzy. The pushchair propped me up for the last bit home (thankfully we didn't have much further to go) and I'm feeling more stable now I've had a drink and some chocolate . Think I will try and rest it for the rest of the day though.

And OMG, the dodgy pub near us had a car parked outside with the engine running and a baby in a car seat in the back! I felt really bad but I'm afraid the combination of feeling sick with the pain in my ankle, and not wanting to talk to anyone who'd been in that pub meant I chickened out and didn't stay to see how long the driver was inside/give them a piece of my mind . I'm sure everything will have been OK, but as I said, OMG!

NattyThomasandEllen · 25/01/2008 14:57

how much is everyones little ones eating at the moment? ellen is eating alittle bit of everything and not really large meals. is that ok? hard to tell cos she was such a ganite before she got sick, and now shes not really eating at all.

tom has just finshed a 45min tantrum.. my head is killing me now. paracetomel anyone?

NattyThomasandEllen · 25/01/2008 14:59

omg really? who would just leave their baby in a car? thats awful
ellen weighs 22lb last time checked and that was b4 xmas so god knows what she weighes now, im gonna take her tuesday.. so 18lb not tooo bad MJ!

milkyJammy · 25/01/2008 15:01

From teh sounds coming from C I reckon she'll weigh about 4oz less after then next nappy change

NattyThomasandEllen · 25/01/2008 15:06

HellHathNoFury · 25/01/2008 15:09

yeah i know! shes really long as well though, shes in 9-12 already

milkyJammy · 25/01/2008 15:15

They've never measured C's length, even at birth

HellHathNoFury · 25/01/2008 15:16

ditto!
DS is about 22-23lbs (at least) and in 9-12. He's really long and muscly but not fat at all.

C is cunning! She was trying to reach her toy mouse, but couldn't. So she made an attempt to crawl to get him, but failed, so she worked out that he was on a mat, so tipped the mat up and pulled it towards her so he came closer. In the meantime she has found that playing with the mat is even more fun than playing with Big Max Mouse.

NattyThomasandEllen · 25/01/2008 15:21

ah ellen is a little chubster, but shes not huge, just cuddley.
to be honest after having an underweight b
ecause when she gets sick, or decides shes not eating i dont worry about her growth and weight gain. its much more relaxing!

NattyThomasandEllen · 25/01/2008 15:22

lol MJ thats very clever

NattyThomasandEllen · 25/01/2008 15:23

that meant to read after having an under weight baby i much prefer a slightly over weight one because...
