The work thing is hard isn't it? These people I'm contracting for have offered me permanent...but not sure whether to accept as I haven't had a job since 1999! Unfortunately another client effectively made me redundant whilst I was on Mat Leave (had a monthly retainer contract with them, but they've stopped it and say they won't have any work for me for 3-4 months ), which does mean I'd be free to take a permanent job... I don't think their action was illegal as I'm self-employed, but it was certainly dodgy as I've worked for them for seven years. So do I blow them out and take the job with client B? decisions decisions.

BadZelda · 15/01/2008 13:37

Hi Annobal! xxx Hi Sputnik!
Still bf - LO is just having bottles monday / tuesday during the day; the rest of the week I am working at home or looking after kids, so can BF her as normal...I think I'll bring the pump with me next time I'm in the office...was too embarrassed to do it in the toilet as it makes a noise!

BadZelda · 15/01/2008 13:38

and of course Hi Andiem

annobal · 15/01/2008 13:41

LOL re the expressing in the toilet. I had an electric one and couldn't express as the noise was too loud - think errrrrrrr e errrrrrrrrr e errrrrrr.

Don't think I'd want to be hanging around a company that did that to me on mat leave BZ, but you know what the 2 jobs are like. Great that they've offered you perm!

BadZelda · 15/01/2008 13:50

Well....I don't think company A did it on purpose...they've sent me some mixed signals...e.g. inviting me to their christmas party, and introducing me to lots of people as their genius web designer who is working on a new site for them...then telling me 2 weeks later they were not going to reinstate my retainer and I won't be needed until April. From experience I'd say they're just totally disorganised.
Company b are being astonishingly flexible - they are giving me a great day rate, I can work when I want (home or office)...but they want me to either go perm in 3 months or source another IA who will. Perm scares me as I'll have to deal with company politics...but maybe I just need to suck it and see.

BadZelda · 15/01/2008 13:51

uh oh - lunch break over - back in a while. zx

FattyFairyFay · 15/01/2008 14:42

Hello

Hi Daisy, I hope you enjoyed your lunch - hope babyboo is better soon.

Nice to have you back BZ, you were missed.

Annobal, that recipe looks scrummy

I have been catching up in dribs and drabs so have probably missed something else - sorry! But hello everyone else

FattyFairyFay · 15/01/2008 14:44

Oh yes, well done and of the weightloss. I am totally hopeless. I have days when I'm really good and then the next day I get stressed/tired/bored and go back to old habits. But then I suppose that some good days are better than all naughty days . I think I might get a pedometer and see if I can motivate myself to up my steps.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 15/01/2008 14:45

tis buggy fit on thurs fairy no pressure

FattyFairyFay · 15/01/2008 14:48

I know. Unfortunately I have been referred to a gynaecologist and women's health-physio as I still have post-birth ishoos downstairs, and the clinic is thursday mornings, which is why I havem't made it since christmas. I did intend to, honestly. I'm not sure how long I'll have to go for, but I will try and come if I get discharged soon. Also, this weather is really putting me off tbh

foxythesnowman · 15/01/2008 14:56

Ello, ello ello.

Blimey, lots going on here today!

Good to 'see' you BZ!

Sorry to hear about those ishoos Fairy, hope you get it sorted.

Well done Andiem and Fury you slim chicks! WW rocks.

Bumper, I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering so badly. I'll email you seperately so as not to fill up this thread.

Hello everyone else.

I'm on the 'running about like a loon' exercise programme myself

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 15/01/2008 14:57

ooh fairy you poor thing you defo need to get ishoos sorted before exercising too much coffee next week is always an option

FattyFairyFay · 15/01/2008 15:01

Thanks. I have a prolapse which isn't particularly nice, but certainly not life-threatening. I have been ignoring it, but I am finally getting it sorted out.

Coffee next weeks sounds like a definite plan. I could do Wednesday after 12, or anytime on Friday.

FattyFairyFay · 15/01/2008 15:06

Oh yes, sorry Bumper, I really didn't mean to ignore your sleeplessness. I can't really offer any solutions though, I'm afraid. DD was never a very good sleeper when she was a baby - she went through periods like that, and periods when she slept later, so I'm sure it will get better (she's now 2.4 and sleeps 13 hours most nights). That's probably not much consolation though when you are going through it, sorry.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 15/01/2008 15:07

wed after 12 would be fine for me lo has swimming in the am

good on you for getting it sorted lots of people leave it

Pumpkinhead · 15/01/2008 15:16

Hi again. I'm so bored today. Its been raining almost all day and I've had 2 friends cancel on me. Been stuck in all day with a a grizzly baby. Thank god for the internet.

Pumpkinhead · 15/01/2008 15:18

Any ideas for tea for LO. I'm running out of ideas. Half a tin of chick peas and yoghurt didn't seem to go down too well yesterday.

HellHathNoFury · 15/01/2008 15:23

hmmm I make DS things like squirty cheese sandwiches or tuna mayo sandwiches... or otherwise he just has whatever we have minus the salt... or if I am really deperate he has ready brek mixed with a banana or a JAR

OP posts:
FattyFairyFay · 15/01/2008 15:37

My DS seems to have gone off purees/mashes so I'm having trouble as well. I am tending to give him as much veg/meat mash as he'll take and then pieces of philadelphia sandwich /toast / cheese / breadsticks /cheerios /pieces of fruit or veg/ or whatever DD is having. I think I might try mashed banana and then well cooked scrambled egg tonight. He also likes yoghurt

Pumpkinhead · 15/01/2008 15:38

Did you say a JAR?!!!

FattyFairyFay · 15/01/2008 15:38

excellent andiem, it's a date. kingston? Anyone else is very welcome

FattyFairyFay · 15/01/2008 15:39

Oh yes, a1nd ds sometimes has jars too

milkyJammy · 15/01/2008 15:40

Hi all. Let's see what have I missed?

Bumper's missing her sleep - {{hugs}} I know how bad that can feel, you have my sympathy but sorry don't have a lot of advice - I am having to go to bed at 9,30 or 10 myself to stay afloat sleep wise.

BZ's back - welcome back.

Daisy's been in - hope all goes well on Friday if you get to see this

And hi to everyone else and apologies if I've missed anything.

Just been doing a few housey things today, and playing with C, and out for a walk this afternoon. Going to prepare a stew in a bit for dinner, and let it cook long and slow in the oven, yum.

HellHathNoFury · 15/01/2008 15:43

yeah yeah a jar

trouble is they sometimes go really runny when you heat them up, if they do that I put little cubes of bread in it and he has it like a soup.

DS really eats whatever we eat, we're not really that precious with him. He never liked purees though, so after about 2 weeks of purees he was on finger foods and mashes.

My DH just emailed me this URL. Odd?! Why was he looking?!
