Hey all
Long time no see - good grief i have just had to spend an hour catching up with everyone !!!
well......have just had very busy half term, poor DS1 has had bad coughing / cold virus and was really quite poorly (and v v whingey with it) so things have been quite fraught, but have still managed to get out and about, and mum sat for Ollie on Friday and i took DS1 to Thorpe Park to meet up with his cousins, and altho' it was bloody freezing i had a lovely time with DS1.
Ollie is doing well, i am not BF at all during day now, he is on 3 meals a day. I am still BF him before bed, and he is still waking for 10/11 pm ish feed and then once again during the wee hours for BF. But he has been soaking thru nappy and suit which makes me think he is not really needing BF it is just habbit, i had a word with HV and she said that is is nearly 6 months it is fine to start trying to give him a wider range of food ( he has since had home made chicken soup and turkey casserole which he loves) HE still refuses bottle but drinks water fine from doidy cup.
Problem is..... how do i stop BF at night, as BF seems to be the only thing that settles him back to sleep. HE still refuses bottle so not able offer that instead. Any advice from anyone ????
Since stopping BF during day i have noticed that i am not stuffing my face with choc and bics, have also lost a coupel of pounds, but like other girls on thread have noticed that my hair is getting quite greasy , and i do wash it every other day
anyhoo as for your news, in no particular order
SAralou - Have been having regular periods since DS was 6 weeks, so am going to have IUS fitted (looks and is fitted like coil but relases hormone) Bit nervous as have never had one before and have two friends who hadn't had them fitted properly and only found out after two year scan !
Pixie - your friend has 7 kids OMG [shcok]
RG - good luck with weaning, and well done for holding out for so long
LMB- Ollie is now weaned during day and it has made absolutley no difference to his waking at night either - is there a magic 6 month stage where developementally they just start sleeping thru ?
Loopy - hope you have fully recovered from mastitis, that must have been horrible, and my guilty secret shhhhhhhhh...we have always put ollie to sleep on his tummy cos he would never settle on his back. Only now is the horrible paranoid guilt starting to go
Febes - congrats on selling the house, we have had ours on now for 6 weeks, we have had lots of viewing but no offers, not even a cheeky one
As for entertaning baby - Ollie is such an alert active little thing, he spends his day between baby ring/nest, door bouncer, bumbo, my lap and then all over again, quite cute now tho' as he is loving attention from his big bro' (when its nice attention IYKWIM)
battling with desire to have sunday morning bacon sarnie....enjoy the rest of you weekends
