Morning everyone!

I had a GREAT night's sleep last night! I put Ellie to bed at about 8pm and although we did have a couple of dummy issues between then and 11pm when we went to bed, it wasn't too bad. Ellie slept through til 3am and when she woke, i just swaddled her up and gave her a dummy and she went back off to sleep for another hour and 45 minutes! So then she woke up at about 4.45am and had a really long feed. I swaddled her up again and I woke up before her at 7.30!!! I got DP to check in on her and she was still in the same position i'd left her in so obviously the swaddling is deffo working for her at the moment. It wasn't until i crept into her room and the squeaky door disturbed her that she actually woke up!

Off to get my hair cut in a bit so Ellie will be staying with her nanna for the first time! I'm really looking forward to having some "me" time. Yippee!!!

Oh incidentally, i DO have a pic of me with braids which i PROMISE to try and put up tonight at some point! I just need to find the cable from my phone to the pc.

Have a good day all!!

Oh forget what I said about Adam sitting - was obviously wedged in place with my cushion! Tried again this morning and he was falling all over the place .

fiona76 · 27/03/2008 17:24

RG- thats 100-150mls over a couple of pumps during the day. I only get 50 or 60ml at one sitting if I'm lucky. I pumped in the shower today and that worked well.

LizzieO · 27/03/2008 20:27

have uploaded pic of Ollie in bumbo
(looking slightly worried)

sarahloumadam · 27/03/2008 21:38

LizzieO - just gorgeous! What a cutie.

Did you enjoy your me time RG?

Went to baby yoga today. Spent most of the time in the corridor where Adam was very interested in dismantling a display board inbetween feeds! He is a bit funny in new situations sometimes so I'll try again next time. Not sure we will enjoy it tbh, lots of lifting of the baby and he is so heavy that the bits I did get to do were hard work! Think I would rather go and have a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake.

RGPargy · 27/03/2008 22:17

Sarah - lol they are funny when they are floppy like that aren't they. One of my Wednesday ladies has a DD a week older than Ellie and she IS almost sitting by herself. She's so rigid and strong, it's amazing! Very much enjoyed my me time, thanx. It was odd not having her with me and i did wonder what she was up to but she was in a very chirpy mood all day so i didn't think she'd be too much hassle and apparently she was no trouble at all!

Fiona - Ah that makes you sound more normal lol. I've given up trying to express throughout the day now. I only express first thing in the morning, normally on just the one side and then feed Ellie from the other. I do this over a couple of days and then that becomes my Sunday morning lay-in milk stash.

Lizzie - awww he looks so cute!!!

Get well soon Loopy!!!

OP posts:
sarahloumadam · 28/03/2008 10:56

RG - one LO in my post-natal group can stand up rigid with barely any support! Adam kind of collapses under his own weight and grins at me!

Get well soon Loopy, how awful. I finally seem to be shaking my cold but flu is a billion times worse.

Meant to say yesterday there was a ridiculously patronising woman at the Surestart centre where I went for the yoga - she kept calling me "mum" although she knew my name "and where do you live mum?" "are you feeding him yourself mum?" and when she asked what I did for a living and I said teacher she said "oh well done!". Felt about 5, she was flipping hilarious .

Well the weather here is foul which has put paid to my plans of taking Adam for a walk. Is everyone using a pushchair rather than a pram now then? Our pushchair is forward facing and I used it for the first time the other day, his hat kept falling over his eyes and I only realised when he started crying. I was thinking of all the people who had walked past and seen him sat in the dark! I am going for a pedicure at 1 o'clock, have to use the voucher that my work colleagues gave me before April! Taking Adam so hope he behaves, at least he can still access the norks whilst I am having my feet done.

RGPargy · 28/03/2008 15:06

Sarah - lol @ the daft bint at Surestart. How annoying! How was your pedicure? I'd love to have a really luxury one, where they soak your feet and get all the hard skin off too. Mine are well overdue for that!

The weather is really horrible here too. I've always used the forward facing pushchair because i never had one with a pram bit in it but thankfully the pushchair does lay flat so she was ok from birth in it. I might perhaps adjust the pushchair so that she can sit up a bit now, although tbh, i dont use the pushchair very much at all! Poor Adam going round in the dark lol.

I went shopping today to Asda and decided to sit Ellie in one of those special baby seat trolleys rather than put her car seat in the car seat trolley. She seemed to rather enjoy it and was giving me smiles and raspberries for most of the way round Asda! She's been an absolute little treasure the last couple of days, probably because she's had lots of sleep and feels refreshed.

Off to the pub tonight with DP, PIL and DP's mate. Only having one or two no doubt and hopefully Ellie will stay asleep!

Oh my braids pic is up on my profile now, btw. Excuse the stupid face i'm pulling. It's not a very flattering picture at all!!!

fiona76 · 28/03/2008 16:13

Love the braids!! Ellie is so cute. I must put a recent one of Anabel on here. I'll go try to do that now....

LittleMissBliss · 28/03/2008 20:09

Rg- the braids look great!

Sarah- the pedicure sounds lovely. My MIL gave me a voucher for a facial which i need to use soon. Though i'm not too keen on people touching my face, so i might change it for something else.

Lizzie Ollie looks so sweet.

loopy- Hope you feel better soon.

I've had such a rubbish few days because of the awful weather, and having to stay in. I'm so tired as well. I've become quite upset recently because of my post pregnancy weight. I did manage to loose allot of it straight after birth. But its been creeping back on. (i have been eating large quantaties of chocolate which has come to a sudden holt) So i'm really trying hard to go on a diet and loose the extra stone and a half. I'm fed up of wearing jeans and having fat hanging over the sides....eeeuugh.

I'm going to try and add some more piccies too....

LittleMissBliss · 28/03/2008 20:23

Done!

littleoldme · 28/03/2008 21:19

Hi All

Just a quick one as it's time for my bed.

RG - I've finally got round to posting DVDs > sorry it's taken so long. Braids look fab BTW
Have a good kip everyone.

SparklyGothKat · 28/03/2008 22:41

Callum has been really grumpy today, he has refused to nurse, I had to express and give him it in a bottle. He has a cold and his tooth is defo. cutting through, poor love. I hope tomorrow will be better

RGPargy · 28/03/2008 23:43

Fiona - thanx! Did you put a recent pic of Anabel up?

LMB - They were fab weren't they! Sorry you've had a crap few days. I know what you mean about post pg weight. I also lost quite a bit immediately after and have now put it back on. I'm almost the same weight as what i was when i was 9 months pg! Your DS looks adorable tho, such a cutie!

LOM - lol dont worry, i said there was no hurry! Thanx for posting them back tho.

Sparkly - Hope Callum feels better soon!

Off to bed in a mo. N'night everyone !

hello everyone, hope you and your lo's are all well... just checking in as it's been a while and wanted to catch up!

phoebe is doing well - she is into baby sit-ups at the moment where she holds onto our fingers and pulls herself up to a sitting position and then looks around the room with her mouth wide open as though she has just discovered she is somewhere else entirely! it's so cute! i will try upload a couple of recent pics.

Fiona - Anabel is a little beauty!

RG -like tha braids! glad it's not me that's returning to chubsville....i thought i was doing okay on the weight front but it seems to be piling back on. a lady at the weigh in told me hers all came off when she stopped bfing. fingers crossed then..!

Sarahlou- that's so weird isn't it? there are a couple of hv's here who call you 'mum' instead of your name and loads of times i've just thought they were talking to someone else and ignored them!! the only person qualified to call me that is phoebe and i don't imagine she'll be doing that for a few more months anyway! looking forward to all of that. she's very talkative and smiley (and raspberry-ish) at the moment which is lovely.

right i am off to try upload some pictures of p.

ara · 29/03/2008 08:50

done

LittleMissBliss · 29/03/2008 09:53

ara- Phoebe is gorgeous, wow all that beautiful dark hair. She has such an English Rose beauty about her, much like her mummy! (I have to call you that because i don't know your name!)

I just bumped DS's head on the bannister not hard but I think I gave the poor lamb his first head ache. He's just settled after 15 mins of screaming .

ara- Phoebe is scrumtious XXXXXX

Loopy - Sorry you aren't getting much sleep, and ill aswell, poor old you. glad the baptism went well. Pics please.

RG- The braids look gorgeous. Hope you had a good night.

Best go, my poor bumped boy is squawking. XXX

SparklyGothKat · 29/03/2008 22:29

nursing strike is over!!!!
I have just brought a Icandy cherry buggy on ebay. I wanted something that I could rear face so callum is still looking at me, he has got too big for the pramette

RGPargy · 29/03/2008 23:16

Ara - Let's hope that the weight will fall off once i stop BF then (or when i stop eating too many pies!).

Loopy - Good timing with your flu, eh? It was lucky you had your parents around!

LOM - How on earth did you bump his head on the banister?!! lol the poor thing! I'm sure he is fine - it'll probably just scared him.

Had another good night last night. Ellie slept from around 10pm til 4.30am. I gave her a feed and, although DP got up twice for her with dummy issues, she didn't wake up properly til 9am!!!! What a good girl!!

Off to bed in a mo. n'night all, have a nice Sunday!

sarahloumadam · 30/03/2008 08:10

Hi all
Dropped the 11 o'clock dream feed last night because he just looked so content and he slept thru until his normal 3 o'clock night feed so you were right RG - doesn't seem to make much difference!

Pedicure was lovely. About 5 mins before I went I suddenly thought - why am I taking a 4.5 month old to the beauticians!! But he was a little star. The beautician was a young glamourous thing and she couldn't have been more understanding, she even cleared off for a break while my toenails dried so I could feed DS! He was restless on my lap (he never settles in his car seat so I didn't even bother with that) so we created a nest of towels and blankets on the floor and he was quite happy. Think the chilled out vibe and music helped. Oh the bliss of having my feet done! Anyone elses feet really ache these days? Some mornings I wake up and have to hobble to the bathroom. She said it could be connected to back strain which makes sense. So now I have v.glam toes but the rest of me is a mess, I am going to rebuild myself from the feet upwards!

LOM - I banged my LO's head on a door frame once (trying to be clever and keep feeding whilst going to fetch something)and he howled, I felt so guilty! There was a bad mother thread recently where mums confessed to all sorts and that made me feel a lot better .

Love all the new pics of your cute LOs. Glad you feeling better Loopy.

Got a bit of a dilemma. DH's granddad passed away the other night. He has been very ill for a long time so it wasn't entirely unexpected but still very sad. DH would like me to go to the funeral, obviously, but Adam still won't take a bottle and I would be very nervous about leaving him, he still feeds every 2 hours but sometimes will feed for comfort in strange situations so sods law he would be demanding a feed. DH said why can't we take him - am I being over-protective but I don't think a funeral is any place for a baby? Apart from anything else I can't burst into Grand Old Duke of York to keep him amused can I?!

I have been blathering on. Have a good day all . x
