potc - he sounds like a right catch

PillockOfTheCommunity · 09/12/2007 23:10

like I say, you guys are vetting them from now on!

what can I say, he was my 'first' and in a stupid moment of madness I believed he had achanged since

never, never again ..............

weewishyouamerryonion · 10/12/2007 00:04

and this guy wants to create hassle for you around access / custody!!

yep - let us vet your blokes - only problem being - we might go for staid and solid

cazboldy · 10/12/2007 05:51

christ potc - sounds like a lucky escape to me!

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 10/12/2007 09:56

Ruddy hell pillock, definitely a lucky escape. I think he needs to get his priorities sorted out before getting someone else pregnant A catch indeed

Ds still has a high temp so home with me today. Teacher said if he was ok later then to take him in for the show, will see. He is not keen though so will probably end up keeping him off. His temp was really high overnight again so think perhaps keeping him home would be best, despite the fact that I want him to go and do the show!!

Eddas, I know what you mean about regretting not going for the job later on. I havent withdrawn my application yet, but the more I think about it, the more I just dont need extra hassle in my life right now, and that is exactly what I will get if I was to get the job.

DippyChristmas · 10/12/2007 10:05

Morning!

Good grief, E - can't believe his gf is PG, the man's timing is impeccable.

I am exhausted atm, roll on DH's holiday starting ......

Hope DS is better asap, MJ - not mice when they are all yukky and poorly.

Morning

Ellie what bloody timing on giving you that news. Very pleased to hear that little jo is feeling better. Have been thinking about him.

Eddas, loved the pink nativity outfit!

Hope that your ds feels better soon MammyJo

Feeling very tired here. Had a lovely weekend got the tree decorated (in a fashion by the dcs!) We had just finished decorating the tree when it started to snow which was lovely and made us all feel very festive.

Had great fun on Sat night with the girls. My neighbours have asked that if they have a baby can they be your friend too GMM?

I meant to be doing an assignment but cant quite be bothered

geordiemacminxpie · 10/12/2007 10:34

Morning ladies!!

Still recovering from the weekend here too - just seem to be sooooooo tired!!! Doesnt help that we I have a million things to do to get organised for xmas. Still, all presents are bought and wrapped, all cards sent and the tree is up, so not too bad!!! C was only supposed to be geting 1 or 2 bits.....he has 15 presents and a stocking!!!

Luce - thanks once again for Sat, your ladies were lovely, they dont even need to have babies - I'll still be their friends

Ellie - sounds like you are best off out of it!!

Eddas - your dd looks adorable!!!

DippyChristmas · 10/12/2007 10:37

It is good to come on here and know I am not the only one who is completely knackered!!

Very of all this snow you Notherners are having.

thanks so much for all the compliments for dd I didn't realise she was supposed to take the outfit today for a dress rehersal! But then I hadn't been to preschool since last monday so hadn't seen the sign. Oh well!

Got dd/ds's new car seats today. They look a bit complictaed to fit but I might have a go in a mintue since ds is asleep and dd is out!

Just called our mortgage company and they take 4-6 weeks to process the application so not the faintest clue what to do about getting a car. Maybe my Dad would help. Thing is last time I asked for a loan(for 4-5 months) step mother(I know it wasn't dad) said no it was only a loan, weird woman. And that was a loan for heating, so not sure she'd see a loan for a car as a necessity!

Right best get on with things before I go to work. Lets hope I actually get there today

DippyChristmas · 10/12/2007 10:47

'Fraid I've not a clue either - hopey our dad can help - Perhaps he can fit the new car seats while he is at it!! Wish I had a dad who was handy - oh well, guess I've got DH So hard to keep remembering these "F"'s.

RudolphtherEDDASnosedreindeer · 10/12/2007 10:53

maybe I could borrow a bit from a few people My uncle called up last year to offer his help, bless him, becuase he couldn't believe dad, or rather step mother, wouldn't help even though we had no heating and that's waht the money was for. So i'm sure he'd help. My Nan has cash stashed away and would help but am nervous of asking to borrow too much from her. She's 79 and would thinkit's an awful lot of money even though she has it IYSWIM.

I have so many things swarming round my head I feel like i'm going to implode soon. I just want a week where all I have to worry about is 'normal' life. It's just not going to happen is it

DippyChristmas · 10/12/2007 10:58

I know those feelings all too well, Eddas - well you can only ask, it doesn't hurt to ask, eh!!? xx

OP posts:
Peshanearth · 10/12/2007 11:18

Morning all

If I have a painful boob, hurting mostly just above the nipple but also up my boob and I can see a red line going up where it hurts is that a blocked duct? Still feeding him on that side and trying to massage it as he feeds which is tricky as he likes to grab and squeeze it himself so having to fight him off!! Is there anything else I should be doing?

Also have nasty head cold so feeling pretty poo today Dont want to go to work but have to really. And dont know how I'm going to get xmas shopping done with no car, I could walk there and back except that I'd have to be back by 11 to feed D before work so would probably manage all of about 30/40 mins shopping before having to come back again

Sorry for self absorbed post, feeling bit down again atm.

RudolphtherEDDASnosedreindeer · 10/12/2007 11:22

i just hate asking, especially for money. But it is only a loan. Don't have much choice!

DD's seat is now fitted. Will do ds' later or tomorrow. Her seat is VERY pink, best not buy a red car or it'll clash

Off to pack the rest of ds' things to go to sil's!

DippyChristmas · 10/12/2007 11:22

Weird. Just got a Christmas card from "Auntie Christine ..." (the card actually had the dots after the name, as though she was going to add something else...) We don't even have an Auntie Christine!! The cards was definitely addressed to us!!

OP posts:
RudolphtherEDDASnosedreindeer · 10/12/2007 11:24

oh Pesha, sounds bad any chance of online shopping? Bit close to the day I guess but should be ok. Any chance of getting to the shops at the weekend? I know it's manic but maybe if you could go just you and D? Hope you feel better soon

DippyChristmas · 10/12/2007 11:26

Sounds ouch, Pehsa - would call NCT BF line or siilar to ask - I wouldn't feel qualified to advise, but does sound like it might need to be checked or something. xx

LOL @ not getting a red car - I think a sort of "frog green" would look really cool with a bright pink car seat!!

OP posts:
DippyChristmas · 10/12/2007 11:28

similar - do't know what was going on there!

OP posts:
DippyChristmas · 10/12/2007 12:17

My youngest two children are still sleeping. I need to give them lunch and walk round to get DD1 for 1pm. Oh well.

I know we've been through this before, but I am soooo thick - How do I get my profile page on my Christmas name, please!!?

OP posts:
mammyjounderthemistletoe · 10/12/2007 13:12

Poor old ds looks like pants now He did seem a little brighter earlier, but that has obviously worn off. He has the darkest circles under his eyes that I have ever seen and a temp of 39.4c. Still, that is an improvement on 41c which it was yesterday

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 10/12/2007 13:13

Sorry dippy, cant help with the profile thing. Not at all technically minded!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 10/12/2007 14:10

Afternoon all - please excuse any typing errors - B on my knee.

Mammyjo - so sorry to hear about ds - sounds like he's on the mend but such a shame about the show - have you maxxed out on calpol?

POTC - I can't believe what Justin said about being tempted not to see Joe - what sort of huge enormous sweaty sausage of idiocy says something like that? Hope joe continues to improve

Dippy - sorry you're so tired - when is dh off? It's a horribly busy time of year isn't it?

Eddas - do hope you can get the seats fitted and the cash sorted. Is a {{{{Hug}}}} out of order?

Pesha - that's odd - I think I've also got a blocked duct red, sore patch but not too hard, I'm doing the same as you - hopefully we should both see and feel some improvement soon. If you start feeling fluish though you must hotfoot it to the gp lest you need antibiotics.

Hello everyone else

leakythesnowman · 10/12/2007 15:44

Hello

I have an exceedingly grumpy baby with a cold and a dh who is not much better. So I sympathise with all you poorly mummies or those with poorly dcs. My only comfort is at least we're all likely to be fit and well for Christmas

Ellie - Joe is lucky he has one good, caring intelligent parent. His dad is obviously one of those eternal adolescent types, you've had a lucky escape. Glad Joe is doing better too.

Gutted. Flat next door has just gone up for sale. My potential buyer is bound to go and look and I've no idea if it's nicer than ours I'm not obsessed, honestly

weewishyouamerryonion · 10/12/2007 15:54

leaky - could you get someone you know t arrange a viewing of next door????

pesha - i dont know if it is a blocked duct but when i have had them - warm compresses just before a feed and cold ones in betwee. brufen to keep swelling down??
