Hi Beadmum - glad things have settled down, does sound like you're doing the best thign and just getting on with it without them.

lol at Charlotte and the remote, Emma does that too! If I'm not in the room when the programme ends she'll pick up the remote and come and find me. Is Fifi on CBeebies?

I swear she's channelling Iggle Piggle through the airwaves, it's quite uncanny the number of times she'll ask for the telly to be turned on just as it's starting, even in the afternoons which isn't one of her regular viewing times

No cot jumping incidents since the first one, thank god. Maybe it was just a fluke where she had managed to pile her toys up a bit and step on them. But yes, quite staggering that she managed it in a Grobag (and a slightly tight 12-18 month one at that)

Have good afternoons all xxx

Beadmum · 17/03/2008 14:28

annie - not surprised lack of sleep is affecting you both. Good you talked it out and have a fab time tonight

PixelHerder · 17/03/2008 14:31

x post Annie - aaaaw that's lovely, long may it continue Have a good time tonight (and maybe bring him home a half of Guinness in a doggy bag just to show you care! )

Beadmum · 17/03/2008 14:31

xpost pixel - fifi is on channel 5 at 8am, i record them and she normally watches it before bed (bad habit i know)

PixelHerder · 17/03/2008 14:38

Thanks Beadmum I'll have a look, am quite keen to find other programmes she likes (by way of variety from Iggle Piggle, much as I love him and am grateful for his powers of baby hypnotism)

AnnieShamrockInYourEar · 17/03/2008 17:12

Pixel, Peppa Pig is a huge favourite in our house. It's only five minutes long (channel five) but Nick Jr do half hour sessions.
That's where Joey learned his entire vocab.
And K is following closely. She likes Fifi too. K is also a remote thing, she actually managed to get peppa on on sky+ the other day! It was definitely a fluke though. Like when she phones MIL...

Beadmum, it's about the ILs, but it's their loss, and as long as you are happy with the current situation, it's good. Some people are just far too selfish.
Good luck with the house though!! Fingers crossed you get it. Charlotte sounds so clever!! K also likes jigsaws, she can do a five piece one now all by herself, and everyone has to cheer when she's finished! And again...

HC how's the mini garden coming along?! My artistic side involves making Upsy Daisy's bed out of a ready brek box, and letting mosto f the ready brek fall on the floor. 'snow!'
Still...

kbaby, hope your dc's are back to being little angels! K gets ratting too when she doesn't sleep during the day, but she just won't give in, as long as Joey is there. On his day at nursery she's conked at 11.45!!

Twinkle, have you got your keys?!?! Congrats!!
Hope the move is going, well, going well!

FLick are you still there!?!?
Poor Jacob and all his thingys. Fingers crossed for you too!!

Well I better go and dust myself down, and slap some make up on in case I meet anyone I know tonight! I've just notice a tear in my skirt, the slit at the front. So my crotch is probably on show... I know I did it yesterday too, playing Pop goes the weasel.
Goddamit.

Right so
Slainte everyone!

AnnieShamrockInYourEar · 17/03/2008 17:13

Sorry bout all the typos. V excited!!

ceebee74 · 17/03/2008 19:52

Evening ladies (and happy St Patricks Day to you Annie)

Flick ? hope everything is ok ? haven?t heard from you since Thursday so I hope you and Sam (and Jacob of course) are well

Josh is also a bit of a telly addict ? his faves are ITNG, Thomas, Peppa Pig and (like you Beadmum) we sit and watch Fifi before bedtime. I have to admit that I am bad and let him watch the tv far too much ? he also does the remote control thing whilst shouting ?Gigis? at me (that is Thomas to me and you). Also he knows Thomas is on after he has his breakfast so today, I noticed he only ate half his breakfast and then wanted to get down and watch Thomas (even though he was far too early) ? think I might have made a rod for my own back there and he isn?t going to eat much breakfast from now on.

Beadmum ? fingers crossed for you for the house ? I hope you can get the mortgage you need.

Annie ? glad you got things sorted with your DH. It sounds like it has been simmering for a long time and you just needed the opportunity to clear the air ? have a fab night tonight and enjoy the Guiness

Pixel ? am also shocked that Emma managed to get out of her cot in a Grobag ? that is some achievement Fortunately Josh has shown no inclination to climb out of his cot in or out of a grobag ? but he is not a climber anyway.

Am currently on the cycle from hell in terms of TTC ? on CD35 now and no sign of AF at all ? have done more pg tests that you can count and they have all been negative. I had a very small bleed last Friday (CD 32) but nothing since so I don?t think it could possibly have been my AF. I have no idea what is going on but I am finding it so frustrating ? grrrr!

Josh has mastered the wooden shape jigsaws (the ones with knobs) but he has no chance with normal jigsaws so well done K and Charlotte Josh has learnt about who ?owns? different things so he will pick up DH?s pj?s or shoes and say ?dada?, point to my drink and say ?mama? and point to his own drink and say ?jish? ? in fact he just goes round saying that all the time now!

Right ? must go and make my tea. Have a good evening all

HumphreysCorner · 17/03/2008 22:44

flick-3 days and counting.

Loving Fifi here too-Sophie especially.

Annie-hope your hangover isn't too bad. Can't have you breathing alcohol fumes on the mozzies.

Will catch up properly tomorrow as still having trouble with the internet.

Hope all OK.

Morning ladies

Well, 2 hours later here is the Mini Garden Am not happy with the pond so have painted the outside of the cut off water bottle with Em's brown paint to stop the reflection. It looks a bit unatural so need to work on that bit. Thing is, the school will know Emma hasn't done it but I am quite proud of it.

flick-have you had Sam as we haven't heard from you? [excited emoticon]

Annie-are you hungover???

spin-do hope things are OK.

Hi to everyone else-going to have a well deserved cuppa.

Here is a photo of Em & Soph taken last weekend. Sophie wasn't impressed with me putting her hair in bunches. Will get a better picture and put that on later in the week.

Bye

hi all!

sorry no news yet, although that should be a good thing! we were almost kept in on sundayt as bp was high again but consultant is keen to get us to thursday.

back at hospital for scan and pre op assessment tomorrow morning and we are on the list for early thursday morning, and my consultant is actually going to try and be there to deliver sam!

not much other news except that jacob is cutting his canines i think as he is excrutiatingly wingey tbh. woke up at 530 this morning to boot and then had a nap at 830 for just over an hour, little monkey! i have no patience with him at the moment, which i know is hormones but he is really coming off badly poor little man.

we have found a selection of glasses for him so just waiting for loads of frames from our local opticians - there are some pretty not bad looking ones which are completley flexible with a 3 year guarantee against breakage! apparently lo's faces grow longer rather than wider so he should be able to keep the same glasses for a little while, which is no bad thing as we are looking at pretty expensive frames! and to grind the lenses it will be pretty hefty too. but very sweetly the opthamologist referred to jacob in his report to the paed as a "delightful little lad"!. and also apparently our opthamologist is one of the best in the country so that's something. lucky BUPA are covering some of the cost!

annie glad you have worked it out with your dh, and yes sleep def has some huge part to play!

ceebee fingers crossed for you

hc will have a look at the garden!

ceebee74 · 18/03/2008 13:28

Flick - so glad you are still here . Only 2 more days to go and then you will have 2 lo's - is that scary??

HC - your girls look so cute although Em looks very grown up aswell.

Finally decided to get Josh's hair cut for the first time - am going to walk down to the village hairdressers in a bit to see if they can fit him in. Part of me is against it but I know it has to be done - I just feel sad as it seems his curls are part of his 'babyhood' and by having it cut, I am finally admitting that he is not a baby anymore!

x

MaeWest · 18/03/2008 13:58

ceebee - I'm not listening, they are still babies... aren't they... Good luck with the haircut. I've jsut been doing lightning fringe cuts here, still got the lovely curls at the back.

Sorry, not been around for a bit, social whirl that is my life and all that. Feeling a bit sorry for myself today as have stinking cold (thanks DS) and tail end of AF, bleugh. Still, am going to my mum's for a few days at Easter so chance for a bit of a rest with plenty of people around to entertain the boy

Jigsaws (the knobby ones) are suddenly a big hit here too. Major fav toy has to be his little buggy tho, he will walk for miles pushing it - I think he'll run the wheels off it .

No more teeth, but he did develop a cold, so that may have explained the sleeping. Our current technique is take him into bed and at least we all get some sleep. But... we had a proper 'sleep through' in his own bed until nearly 6am the other day . I've stopped giving him a bedtime bf, he has a cup of moo juice instead. Wolfs it down and not bothered about boob at all . I still feed him first thing as I am lazy and don't want to get out of bed . I think weaning is gradually starting to happen, which feels a little odd - onto the next phase...

Annie - glad you had a good heart-to-heart with your other half. I had one of those recently, and it really does help. Fingers crossed for some more sleep for you, and hope you enjoyed your night out

thefortbuilder · 18/03/2008 15:06

jacob's favourite toy is anything he can climb on! he's started climbing onto all the chairs, the toy box, anything! that and anything he can scoot round on. he actually got hold of a scooter the other day at a playdate and was off! lucky he's getting one from his little brother on thursday

Morning Girlies!!

Spin, you wouldn't bring the thread down, that's what we're here for. Best wishes for Roshi, I'm sure she'll be grand, she's a tough little cookie, she is. Happy Easter to you all in Oz,and come back soon, we miss you

Flick, Best of Luck tomorrow, can't wait to hear of Sam's arrival, and I'm sure Jacob will just LOVE him! (and his new scooter!)
GOOD LUCK !!!! Hope the scan and pre-op thingy goes well today, GOOD LUCK!!!

Mae, hope you feel better soon. Yes it was good to clear the air with DH, some relief that I'm not actually going insane.
Getting haircuts too tomorrow (finally, after having to avoid the world during Chicken Pox season), so I'll try and post pics. K still comes in our bed too, though it doesn't always guarantee we get much sleep. Last night Joey came in too... four of us... Think we need a bigger bed.
Enjoy your Easter at your mum's hope you get spoilt!!

CB did Josh get his curls chopped then?? but . Any sign of AF? Would it not be too early to test anyway? [hopeful]. Not that I would know, you are the expert.
Good luck with the next round. [hug]

HC, your girls are absolutely beautiful!!! I love the bunches!!! I wasn't hungover yesterday (what do you think of me!), but a little dehydrated. We had a meal and a bottle of wine, and were so cosy in the bistro we had another bottle there instead of finding a pub. On the way back to the tube there were lots of people in leprechaun hats, but I managed not to tell them we don't really wear those hats in Ireland!! Though they did look nice and warm...

Right I better go, and do something, seeing as I won't be here til next Tuesday again!! YAay!!

Beadmum · 19/03/2008 14:53

annie - wow, kayley is very clever doing 5 piece jigsaws by herself. Charlotte can manage 2 piece ones quite well but think she'd struggle with any more just now.

ceebee - (((hugs))) re ttc, is it maybe as annie said and too early for tests to be accurate. Must be so frustrating, good luck

hc - the garden is fab and very cute pic of your girls, bunches are adorable

mae - hope your cold is gone soon

spin - (((hugs))) hope everything is better soon

Nothing much to report here, seeing mortgage advisor tomorrow. Hope charlotte will behave while we're there, will take loads of books, aquadraw minimats, etc to keep her occupied

thefortbuilder · 19/03/2008 17:35

thanks girls! and spin {{{{{hugs}}}}} as you say if anyone can cope with it Roshi can

well i probably won't be back on today as have lots to do - banking etc as of course the house simply cannot run without me

pre op went fine and they just emphasised no food after midnight, so I'm getting chinese in for dinner and waking up for a snack at 1145!!! went to M&S on the way back and supplemented my stinky runny cheese and parma ham with bresoala, dressed crab and some nice salads for tomorrow's food

am actually really excited! saw sam on the monitor again today and the little fatty has put on nearly 400g in 2 weeks, so he's 4lb 5 - jacob was only 3 lb 2!

anyway, will be back on in a few days, so keep well and have a great easter everyone!

xxx

Beadmum · 19/03/2008 18:30

flick - you'll prob not see this now but completely forgot to say when i posted earlier good luck for tomorrow.
Hope everything goes smoothly and enjoy all your yummy food

HumphreysCorner · 19/03/2008 20:14

Oh flick, I've missed you but want to say lots and lots of luck for tomorrow. Can't wait to see the pics.

spin-please don't be a stranger. Sending you virtual hugs. {{{{xxxx}}}} You must post a pic.

Annie-no hangover? Pleased you had a nice time.

Beadmum-hope your visit to the Mortgage Advisor is a success.

ceebee-Sophie has only had a few millimetres cut off her fringe. Her hair is so different to Emma's and so much easier to style. You don't need to have much taken off Josh's hair.

Waves to everyone else.

Hi Girls - just a quicky. Been quite a busy evening (for us in our fogeyish lifestyle anyway ), took Emma to the park then met DH from work and braved the pub. Was fine for about 15 mins then meltdown, luckily they had a garden so we escaped there for 20 mins before being frozen out. Still, 2 large glasses of wine for me so result.

GOOD LUCK Flick, hope you're stuffing yourself silly, sounds like a fab menu you've got lined up there!! Look forward to catching up from the 'other side'

Lovely to hear from you Spin, keep hanging in there - keep us posted when you can and big hugs to you all xxxxxx

HC - VV impressive Easter Garden - if you don't win first prize we'll be round there to demand why not Gorgeous pic of the girls, love Soph's bunches!

Will catch up properly tomorrow - have good evenings all xxx

kbaby · 19/03/2008 21:46

HC- I may sound artistic but my ideas are generally better than my creations! like your garden.
The girls look lovely, DD has that little pink rabbitt too

Ds grghhhhhhhhhhhh he is driving me up the wall, constant tantrums, doesnt know what he wants. He is antagonizing(sp) DD by watching what she is playing with and then doing a smash and grab and running away with the thing she was playing with, then when DD starts crying he comes and gives it to her. I seem to spend the day shifting from watching them play lovely together to fighting and seperating them.

On the subject of tv, DS loves big barn farm and gets so excited at the opening credits, gets fed up after a few minutes though and then wanders off. He is into pink things at the moment, has to have DD's barbie laptop not his one and had a fit yesterday when i tried to put his mac on him and not dd's pink one!
Annie- Kayleigh can do a 5 piece jigsaw!! DS has trouble putting the right pieces in the right holes on the wodden ones. There is no way he could ever do a normal 5 piece puzzel.

Not much planned for the easter. Im working saturday morning and then they both have a b'day party and Monday were going to a farm.

Good luck flick, hopefully sam has already made a safe welcome into the world.

Spin- dont feel that you cant talk to us, you wont bring the thread down at all. And we all miss you.

ceebee74 · 19/03/2008 21:55

Just a quickie.

Spin - {{{{hugs}}}} - I am sure you will all come through the other side so much stronger. Please don't feel you have to stay away as that is what we are here for

Flick - GOOD LUCK tomorrow - am so excited for you and can't wait to hear from you all about Sam's arrival. Bless Jacob becoming a big brother

Hi to everyone else - will try and catch up properly tomorrow

x

Twinklemegan · 19/03/2008 21:59

Flick - very best of luck! I hope everything goes really well. You get back here soon and let us know, d'you hear?!

Spin - it's great to hear from you. I'm so sorry you're still feeling so down. It sounds like perhaps things aren't as bad as you feared? Roshi's a tough little thing that's for sure. And I echo the others that you musn't worry about offloading on us - if you ever want to talk then just go for it.

CB - for the loss of Josh's curls. Aidan's little curls have been gradually disappearing. I trimmed his hair again the other day and this time I don't think they're going to come back. Like you say, it's like the end of babyhood.

Thanks for the good luck vibes everyone. Yes we now have the keys and we've been to and fro for the last few days. The place needs a LOT of cleaning and decorating but it's hard to get much done with Aidan around. For a start he now has STAIRS and boy is he making the most of them. He won't stay still for a second and he hates the stairgate being shut.

The phone line's being switched over tomorrow so I won't be online for a few days. And we're really out in the sticks so it might be back to good old dial-up from now on - hey ho.

Hello to everyone else. Speak soon. xx
