Oh Bumper, I know what you mean. and Housework is so dull and it never stays nice does it? Have you been out today? I havent but at least DP is at home so I can have the odd cuppa with him and adult conversation.

Thanks MHC, my HV said that babies tummies cant cope with bread before 6mths - so was that bull wrong then?

trace2 · 02/12/2007 16:15

holly sorry your dp is being an arse kick him in the nuts and tell him to wait on you today

foxy I think the kids will love lapland uk adults can't review places like that they are not meant for cynical journos but innocent children

must go and hoover ds1 at a party till 6 so no need to cook tea for him yeah!

IsawBUMPERkissingsantaclaus · 02/12/2007 16:19

Thanks guys, just having a whinge. DD finally gone down so will wash up then take to our bed for reading and feeding! Haven't been out today as weather is horrendous (and I say this as someone who lived in N Wales for 5 years) we had about 10 minutes of gale force winds a few minutes ago, I'm damned if I'm going out in that!

justbeme · 02/12/2007 16:23

You ok now Trace?
You could FaceBook Daisy?

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 02/12/2007 16:50

blardy hell you lot have been chatty today

Trace, I got your message....no worries; we'll do it another time.

I've actually been in bed all day, and only got up at 4 o'clock . I didn't sleep well as my back was really hurting, and I threw up again this morning!

Lol mhc at your DD cutting her hair; but fwiw I used to do it when I was little and have never quite grown out of it . I learned my lesson when DS was little though, and only ever cut his (very badly) the once. I think it was Jenny Eclair said that just because you have carried a baby for 9 months and looked after it well doesn't mean you gain the ability to be able to cut hair!

and wise words on the parenting front; very insightful

and can you FB your recipe for gluten free cheese straws? I have tried GF recipes with varying degreees of success, so it'd be nice to try something that actually works!

DD had a finger or two of toast this morning and thought it was fab.

Holly....poor you. Refuse to make his dinner tonight or something as payback.

We were meant to do crimbo shopping today, but I couldn't let DH go on his own (not sure why, as now I'll have to do it on my own...probably a trust ishoo ). There'll be nothing left in the shops or they will be so busy it'll be painful at this rate.

phew...off to entertain DD. DH took them out to his parents, so I've had a kid free day.....sheer bliss!

foxythesnowman · 02/12/2007 17:01

How lovely! Kid free day, sorry to hear it was marred by vomming though.

Mine are starting to kick off, having not been out today.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 02/12/2007 18:02

Daisy, a kid free day - it sounds bliss (apart from the vomming).

Foxy, I'm sure you'll have a great day at Lapland - you're going with the right attitude and it's really what you make of it, isn't it. My DCs get a huge kick out of going to their babysitter's house as she always has loads of decorations up - they are easily pleased

JBM, am sending you a choccy muffin. Bed and a hot water bottle sounding good?

Bumper, hope you are feeling better. Can you take some time out for yourself?

DCs currently watching toy story - they're about to have a wash and go to bed.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 02/12/2007 18:05

Bumper, will post muffin recipe here when dcs in bed (it's actually a cake recipe that i put in muffin tins).

HellHathNoFury · 02/12/2007 18:22

Hello All, hope you are all well!
Just popped on for a quick hello as I am up to my neck in ill people and housework and selling yet more posessions on Ebay.

Just sold the car for £350, some bloke is coming from Manchester to get it, but why?? Are there no shit cars for sale in Manchester?!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 02/12/2007 18:25

LOL Fury. It must be a special kind of shit! Are you okay?

foxythesnowman · 02/12/2007 18:28

Annobal, did you see my post linking the shopping thread I meant to link? I linked 2006 by mistake. 2007 is far superior!

HellHathNoFury · 02/12/2007 18:29

I am ok, had a bit of a tough time lately.
Was asked to leave work on Friday even though my last day was supposed to be the 7th.

Send a few threatening emails quoting various clauses on my contract that showed they were in breach of their own contract, to which I got various other clauses quoted back to me, I said I wanted £200 in lost childcare costs, they offered me £100 to shut me up, I took it.

I can't afford to take it further and get all that I am owed (a weeks wages) but it was the damn priniciple!!
I am happy I 'won' as they obviously would not have offered me anything at all if they knew they had a legal leg to stand on.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 02/12/2007 18:33

Fury, you are so much better off out of there. Now you don't have to worry about them anymore AND you get an extra week with DS.

Foxy, I'll check ( didn't notice the date...)

HellHathNoFury · 02/12/2007 18:36

DS is staying with the CM for a couple more days given I still have to pay full price for her whether he is thre or not, and I need to do some Christmas shopping etc!

I thought I'd get all my jobs done like cards, wrapping, shopping plus I need a dress for a posh do I have been invited to. I will have him back full time on wednesday or thursday.

I miss him when I am at home and he's not but it would be great to get all the busy shopping crap out the way without a grizzly baby in tow!

Now have correct link thanks Foxy, you may not hear from me again tonight

foxythesnowman · 02/12/2007 18:39

you will see what I mean by far superior!!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 02/12/2007 18:40

Hi all. Fury, sorry it's been so tough, glad you got 100 at least. Daisy, day in bed sounds good, shame about back and vom. Bumper, hope you feel better after a good rant. Everyone else, sorry brain is too mushy to remember what you've all been saying

I'm totally worn out, so much so that I shall be in bed by 7 oclock! Tried to get a sleep this pm while DH and DD were scoring reduced food at Waitrose, but they were back sooner than expected and I only got 30 mins But they did bring me cheap cake Really hoping DD will sleep better tonight, but if I go to bed superly-duperly early I should at least get a decent stretch of sleep if the worst happens. And I'm having problems staying awake anyway, so it makes sense. Just hope I won't end up awake at 2am while the rest of the house sleeps (and snores) around me.

So have a good evening, ladies

annobalthebignosereindeer · 02/12/2007 18:43

Sounds like a good plan Fury. I had a morning to myself yesterday and managed to get a good chunk of Christmas shopping done.

Hey MHC - you always offer such great & sensible advice. Have still managed to hold out on the food thing with DS3 - but then I think that DS3 is one of the youngest on this thread.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 02/12/2007 18:44

Night jammy. Hope you have a good night and wake up feeling rested

foxythesnowman · 02/12/2007 18:47

N'night Jammy, Hope you get some kip

annobalthebignosereindeer · 02/12/2007 18:52

Foxy, FAR superior!

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 02/12/2007 18:53

I hope you get some rest tonight jammy

Hi fury....sorry it's been puke central at youra as well.

My DH brought me a present as well....some of those self heating muscle ache pads...bless

He really managed to cheer me up last night. I was moaning about how fat I am and said my upper arms looked like hams. He said if someone brought him a ham that small he'd be bloody disappointed! It made me belly laugh for the first time in ages. He's not so bad really

IsawBUMPERkissingsantaclaus · 02/12/2007 18:53

Hi all,
hi Fury!

Sorry about the rant earlier

I have a poo question (TMI alert): DD over the past 2 days is suddenly pooing several times a day. She woke up crying at 12.30 last night because she had pooed, I have had to cut 2 vests off her today as they were full on up the back, not so much because of volume but because it seems to be more watery. It's not as thick as usual but with lots of scrambled egg type bits in it Does this sound normal or an indicator of anything?
