Actually MHC you were the closest. DH has to be VERY good for me to return the favour

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 20:24

Oh we know it will take an extra couple of hours or so. We've done the journey to my parents a couple of times now, normally between 3.5 and 4 hours without baby, 5 hours with her. This is going to be the first time up to DH's parents, and we accept it will take an age. Not sure about planning in a "nice" lunch though, not on the M6! If DD wakes before 5 I think I'll put her back to bed and then we'll make an early start, setting the alarm for 6 and getting on the road asap. If she wakes after 5 then we'll just get up and on the go then. I know from previous journeys that she'll sleep a lot of the time in the car, and completely agree about the consequences of slowing down.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 06/12/2007 20:24

jammy where are you off to?

I love the sound of your cards bumper. If only I had the energy.

babyboo went down with a fight; we've given her a couple of mls of piriton and some calpol, so hopefully she'll get a good night's sleep. At least DH is here, so I can get a good kip before my drive tomorrow.

We are definately going up to Scotland tomorrow. Mum phoned and asked if I was coming, and speaking to my sister later, she said she's not too great and is being assessed on a daily basis now and it is really important that I do come up . She also said to be ready for a shock.

So, off to get packed.

BZ, I've not posted those boosters yet . I will do it next week as I've got a few other things to post.....busy busy busy.

I'll try to catch up over the weekend, but might not be able to.

Elsbells · 06/12/2007 20:25

Oh my today has been a rotten day. Just been skimming over the days posts.

MHC, I lived in the East Bay for a while - a place called Clatyon. I am trying to sort out getting green card for DH but just haven't gotten it together. We um and ah all the time about moving there. I am assuming it is a long process to get his visa done? Would you decamp there? Orinda is lovelyand WARM.

Daisy hope babyboo is not too grizzly. I wonder what she has.

Bumper don't worry about the BF comments. Unfortunately everyone has an opinion about something. I get constantly asked when I am going to potty train DS like "he is getting old enough, why don't you do it over Xmas" etc etc. I just say to them if he is still in nappies at 16 I will worry about it then. For now it's fine.

Everyone else out here hi.

justbeme · 06/12/2007 20:27

Glad to hear your getting sorted Jammy!

The highchair I got off Ebay is a Tripp Trapp copy - it cost £25 plus £15 postage - but as I say Im returning it - I fancy that dead cheap Ikea one now. Mind you DP moaned when i said that!!! Do you think Ikea would be busy at Xmas??? surely its not a Xmassy shop is it??

Daisy, poor old Babyboo - Did I tell you how last week a one yr old fell and cracked heads with L ? The noise was terrible and she screamed - but it didnt swell or anything - any way a few days ago I noticed a indentation mark in her forehead - and last night in a certain light it was Really noticeable - do you know what - I reckon the little boy hit is tooth on her - and its left an imprint!! You cant always see it - but their little bones are soft arent they?

Elsbells · 06/12/2007 20:27

Daisy wishing you the best with your mom.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 20:33

We're off to Cumbria, near St Bees if you know where that is? We are going for lunch on Saturday in the South Lakes with all of DH's family (it's not a huge family though). We would normally drive straight up there on Sat morning, but know that won't happen with DD so are going up to his parents tomorrow, and then it'll just be a short drive to lunch on Saturday. An old uni friend of mine lives in Cumbria now, so we are seeing her and her family on Sunday for lunch and coming home on Monday.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 20:34

Hope you have a good journey too Daisy, and that your visit with your Mum goes well.

foxythesnowman · 06/12/2007 20:43

Oh Daisy, I'll be thinking of you. Hope the trip is OK.

Els - thanks for reassuring KP, I think it helped a lot.

Jammy, sounds like you'll have a great trip!

derlordsmyshepherd · 06/12/2007 20:44

hello my lovely ladies

BadZelda · 06/12/2007 20:53

Nice namechange derlor
Daisy, don't worry about the inserts - whenever you get time is fine - you've got much more important things to worry about! Hope your trip goes ok and babyboo is chipper; you don't need any more stress.

BadZelda · 06/12/2007 20:55

Fairy - know what you mean about cabbage brain making it hard to catch up; I always mean to post loads of comments and then have forgotten them by the time I've read down the thread.

Elsbells · 06/12/2007 21:01

Hi Delor

Foxy, I am glad I was some help.

derlordsmyshepherd · 06/12/2007 21:04

oh sorry i was off to try to catch up.....still reading.

I've got a HUGE box of chocolate orange segments beside me that my FAB DH gave me earlier. Oh how i LOVE him

foxythesnowman · 06/12/2007 21:19

love the name change. Deffo enter it in the comp!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 21:20

Well, other than a couple of bits of clothing that still aren't dry, all my stuff is packed. DH can do his own clothes - I've done everything else. (The last time I asked him to pack something, the pushchair, he left part of it behind and we had to rush to mothercare to buy a spare part! Thankfully it was only the raincover) Time for some ice cream now I think!

derlordsmyshepherd · 06/12/2007 21:22

oh dear, oh dear, big {{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}} to everyone Bumper, Fury, Daisy, Jammy, MHC, (and anyone else i forgot) that is having a shitty, shitey day.

derlordsmyshepherd · 06/12/2007 21:26

i have entered the comp but if i do win then the prize will go to Daisy as she made up the name!! (I'm NOT that clever!!!!!)

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 21:27

I just entered the comp too.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 06/12/2007 21:28

Great name Derlor.

Jammy, have a great trip - it will be worth it.

Daisy, thinking of you at what must be a really difficult time .

Elsbells · 06/12/2007 21:31

evening annobel

My DS is still up. I have read him a story, done all the hugs and kisses and still calling for me. DD is blissfully asleep in her cot none the wiser (and they share a room).

foxythesnowman · 06/12/2007 21:34

Mine too Els. He looks sooo tired, but won't go to sleep. LO still awake and grouchy. Something is bothering her, she's quite agitated. We are all off to bed now, so goodnight!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 06/12/2007 21:36

I'm off too. Hope LO goes to sleep soon Els and Foxy.

N'night all.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 21:38

Off to bed too. Thanks for listening to me moan most of the day, and for the good wishes for the journey. Have nice weekends everyone!

derlordsmyshepherd · 06/12/2007 21:39
