HellHathNoFury · 06/12/2007 17:17

mhc that's a lovely offer
The dress is nice but damaged. I negotiated 30% which makes it far less damaged in my eyes
It has a sticky stain on it which if I can remove....we're laughing!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 17:19

annobalthebignosereindeer · 06/12/2007 18:20

MHC, that is so lovely! LOL re your nightmare

Arse indeed Fury. That is really shitty.

Jammy, hopefully your LOs are getting ready for bed and you can have a long hot bath and let dh take over the packing.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 06/12/2007 18:24

lo at your dream mhc...and that you can sew. Knitting I'm good at, but I never mastered the sewing machine.

arse for you fury ....why are there so many tossers in the world?

had to fight my way past the doctor's receptionist earlier, so not in a good mood. She first of all said no appts till tomorrow...i further explained i had a spotty itchy 6mo old who has been crying in pain all day. sorry, nothing I can do. i impressed upon her that I wouldn't be calling if I didn't think it important and that the doctor had said yesterday to call if it got worse....she then went through various options for me....from teething to german measles, before conceding she would get the doctor to call back. so, finally i talk to the doctor who said no temperature = no problem, give calpol, put scratch mitts on her, piriton if I absolutely have to, and call if she gets feverish/cold/flu/cough symptoms

I've had to cook tea with her sitting in her buggy in the kitchen as she doesn't want to be away from me at all. She ate a big dollop of mashed potato with peas and brocolli though, but is all grizzly and....

....shit she just cracked her head on the edge of the desk....(as i was about to say) rubbing her face on my clothes....and she slipped

annobalthebignosereindeer · 06/12/2007 18:25

Sorry, didn't read properly mhc - sorry your evening not going well.

JBM we bought a tripp trapp off ebay. We've always had the type that strap onto the table but current kitchen doesn't allow that.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 06/12/2007 18:26

Is babyboo okay? poor thing, sounds like she's in the wars today

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 06/12/2007 18:33

she's fine....it's just one of those days. of course now am frightened to give her piriton incase she has concussion as it will make her drowsy. she is cuddling in and whimpering now

sorry i'm being hopeless...usually i'm pretty laid back about her health, but am just sick of all the rashes.

dh will be home soon...huzzah, and he will bring forth red wine

sorry things are kicking off chez hurdicure

I want a tripp trapp ....will take dh to TGI Friday's for lunch so he can see how fab they are.

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 06/12/2007 18:34

annobalthebignosereindeer · 06/12/2007 18:35

Daisy, mine was £50 on ebay...

Ooh, I do believe that there is a bottle of wine open in the fridge...

annobalthebignosereindeer · 06/12/2007 18:38

oops

Are you entering Daisy? Yours is great - mine is def not creative enough...

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 06/12/2007 18:41

posting your name is an entry......there are far more creative ones than mine out there, so I don't think I have a chance.

Sputnik · 06/12/2007 19:18

We have a tripp trap, I love it. dD still uses it and now we're getting another one! They're a bit cheaper here too.

Poor Babyboo

Baby Sputnik just polished off a large plum and a chunk of potato. He seemed much more interested in that than in milk. I'm holding stuff for him for now as he's on my lap til I sort out the chair and I'm a bit more confident with lumps. He has coped very well so far though, if a big lump goes in he just pusshes it out again.

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 06/12/2007 19:28

We have a babydan for DD, which is very similar to a tripptrapp but a bit cheaper, and she loves it. She started off in a bog-standard mothercare highchair with insert though, which is what DS is doing. We will almost certainly eventually get another babydan, for DS, as they turn into children's chairs and I can't see DD voluntarily relinquishing hers

IsawBUMPERkissingsantaclaus · 06/12/2007 19:39

evening all. can't remember everything that has been going on but the gist is generally shitty. norty, mhc, fury, daisy, arse for all of you!

fuckers about the laptop fury!
daisy hope baby boo is ok
jammy good luck for your trip.

we are also going away tomorrow. long journey to a big family thing where I expect comments such as "are you still bfing?", "give hervsome proper food" and stopping the various aunties stuffing quality street down DD's neck!

been making xmas cards with a friend and our dds. dd's foot print with a red nose to make a reindeer

thanks for the sympathy earlier. i'm glad it's not just me. i hope it will get better, preferably with me having to do any work

foxythesnowman · 06/12/2007 20:04

My advice for those doing long journeys is to accept it will take at least 2 hours longer with baby, so work in a nice lunch or dinner into the journey. Or perhaps drive at night if that's an option. If your phones have internet on them, check any traffic jams and try to avoid them. Lo's do sleep an awful lot of the journey, but if you stop you can guarentee they'll scream in a traffic jam. Music will help - anything you like, it will quiet them or drown them out!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 20:10

Poor babyBoo and the bumped noggin!
Xmas cards sound good Bumper.

My evening is at least going much better than the day. DD finally ate some parsnip & pea puree, the tree surgeon quoted £150 and is coming next week, DH got home and sorted out the rubbish while I put DD to bed, then helped me pack her things. We're now having a takeaway and hopefully by the time we're done enough clothes will be dry that we can then pack our clothes and stuff.
