Poor Daisy, hope they find something useful after all that effort to get the blood out.

I'm so fed up. We're off to ILs tomorrow. Normally a 6 hour journey with one quick loo break. Could well be 8 or more with feed and change stops for LO. I find the stress of going away (getting everything together, the arse of travelling, fretting about what it'll be like while we're there) negates the positive side of getting a break. I'm sitting waiting for washing to dry so I can pack our stuff. DD is napping in cot (finally, after some wailing in protest which I hard heartedly ignored) so can't get her things ready, need dishwasher to finish to get feeding things together, no point packing toys as she'll want them later. It's all crap and I'm so stressed about it all.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 06/12/2007 14:07

Ouch Daisy . I hope it is worth it! Would Babyboo sleep in the car?

LOL BZ. No, really, LOL (you are joking, right?? )

Good on you for making the decision Foxy. I'm on the too lazy to give up bf side as well and DS won't take a bottle. It would be nice though to let DH take over sometimes.

Poor you Jammy. It will all be worth it when you get there.

BTW, anyone looking for Christmas pressies - Bombay Duck is a fab site (thanks to MN Christmas thread and Foxy )

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 06/12/2007 14:16

Afternoon!

Hope everyone is well.

Daisy, hope babyboo is ok for the journey and Jammy I hope your journey is ok too. I'm sure the los will sleep most of the way.

Clarks sale started today...do I brave it? I've just given the store a call to check they've actually got girls' shoes in my dd's size and apparently they have. I 'spose I'll have to go really and buy dd's shoes for the next 6 months!

I'm gonna give ds a go at bfing as long as he wants. I fed dd for about 13months and felt sort of guilty about stopping so early, but I think we were both completely ready to stop.

Ohh spunds nasty Daisy!

Jammy i get stressy going away - cant relax till im there - and thats without a baby!

well the Bumgenius nappies arrived and within 20 mins L pooed in one - but it was fine!

the highchair on the other hand - i knew it wouldnt be right - the meal tray was missing and it was quite light wood - so ive spoken to the seller - shes going to get dhl to pick it back up on tues and refund me my money and postage. remind me not to buy off ebay again unless its a proper make, so i think i feel an Ikea trip coming on - ohhh no!!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 06/12/2007 14:35

LOL JBM - she's giving them a test run. Shame about the high chair. We're going to pick ours up on Sunday.

Hi Holly. Good luck with the Clarks sale.

20 minutes after painstakingly getting the baby to sleep DD ran squealing into the room he was sleeping in. I am not amused.

justbeme · 06/12/2007 15:27

Which high chair you getting Annobal? and is it new/Ebay etc?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 15:30

DD still slips down too much in her highchair, need to let her grow a little more i think before it'll be usable

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 06/12/2007 15:51

The postman arrived just as I was going out for the school run

Thank you secret santa.....we've just opened it and there are two parcels for me , one for DS and one for DD . DS nearly had his open, but I got there just in time!

thank you, thank you, thank you...now all we need is the tree up so we can out them under it.......

DS (and DD) says thank you too

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 06/12/2007 16:11

Jammy - I've got one of these which help support DD in her highchair....it lives in the bottom of the buggy for all those revolting highchairs you get in cafes etc.

Hello Everyone .....not posting today....bad head, knackered and pissed off so hope you are all ok.....

Bumper....hope things are better today...personally I do my duty for a quiet life ....it does come back with a little persuasion

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 16:17

the day is getting worse
haven't made it out so library books will be overdue
made a birthday card for my nephew having just realised it is his birthday tomorrow but can't post it as have no address so it will be late
dd keeps crying
haven't got anything packed for tomorrow
haven't got anything to feed dd for tea
have sworn at and had a bit of an argument on the doorstep with milkman who came touting for trade
have just had a bit of a meltdown, crying on the phone to dh

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 06/12/2007 16:36

Jammy, sorry you are having such a crappy day. I hate travelling too. I find just preparing going to my parents for a few days stressful, and they have most baby things there and only live 45 mins away - so an 8 hour journey sounds very daunting. Will you and Dh be able to get a bit of 'you' time when you are there, for a bit of a break?

Bumper, same problem here I;m afraid. Libido is zero and Dh is generally pretty good about it but doesn't really understand. 'tis not helped by still having problems down below following birth, which makes me feel even less like being intimate.

Jammy - Do you have any frozen veg? I gave DS pureed peas and carrots for lunch, with a little ff to make it a bit runnier, and he loved it.

Daisy, how exciting ss gifts arriving already!

Hope I haven't missed anything. I tend to lurk for 5 or 10 mins at a time during the day but usually only get time to post at the end of the day, bu which time I;ve forgotten half of what I've read . I'm not intentionally ignorning anyone, honest!

andiemisletoe · 06/12/2007 16:42

hi fairy

jammy sorry the day is crap my mantra in with anger out with love all is peace and calm in my life then I run screaming for the chocolate ha

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 16:52

i could renew books online if i hadn't already done that once

we only have frozen peas, they're a bit much on their own, but our carrots have gone off rather

have tried her with a jar of boots organic baby food and she won't eat it and i'm not surprised it is disgusting

sorry i just wanted to vent before

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 16:52

you too fury?

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 06/12/2007 16:52

what's wrong fury?

HellHathNoFury · 06/12/2007 16:57

I have had a shitty day
went dress shopping - nothing in my size - came away with a damaged dress that was the only one that fitted. Nice one.

Then I found out that one of the packages I sent on Ebay has had its contents stolen and instead of a laptop, the man got a loo roll. Needless to say he was not best pleased.
This would be ok as I insured it etc etc etc - but the dimwit receptionist at DH's work didn't get the receipt from the delivery guy, so now I have no proof of postage, and I am faced with a £370 loss. And no laptop.
FFS.

A few weeks ago I had a nice, happy, boring (if somewhat tired) life. I want it back, too much hassle and drama lately

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 16:58

That really is an arse Fury

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 06/12/2007 17:01

ARSE is right then Fury

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2007 17:08

I found a parsnip so am now cooking that up for her. TBH she hasn't seemed much hungry for milk or food since breakfast, but I am so desparate for another good night's sleep I daren't NOT try to feed her something
