God I'm not saying I'd rather she took it out on the baby. Just that it's easier to address / talk about / make her feel better if she admits she's jealous rather than pretending she's not, but sneakily being nasty when I'm not looking. If that makes any sense.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 05/12/2007 10:29

Oh dear, dd and I just made paper chains...now the living room is covered in sequins, glitter and glue!

Is it just me or is Peppa Pig the best show ever? I PMSL every time I watch it, she is so rude to Daddy Pig! OMG I am very sad!

BZ, how's it going today?

Today is going great so far - made DH breakfast in bed, and now he's taken the DCs to softplay so I can write. I love wednesdays

We made paper chains out of a copy of star magazine the other day. They look cool! Think I got a tad obsessive about them though...was still sticking loops together after DD1 had got bored and wandered off to play trains

BadZelda · 05/12/2007 10:55

Yeah - DD1's been doing the whole regression thing - refusing to feed herself, weeing on the floor and I can't remember the last time she slept the night through. Course it's been worse lately as both the DCs have a flu/cough, but they're on the mend now - only one waking each last night.

BadZelda · 05/12/2007 10:57

And I think you've hit the nail on the head r.e. insecurity with role.

Wow BZ, cool idea, but at you buying star magazine !

I honestly don't think my dd is jealous, I just think she is a bit of a grumpy little madam! She loves William and cuddles him all the time. Occasionally he does get a push or gets stood on, but usually she is very good. He is not a very demanding baby, so I probably do spend equal time with them both.

I have just taken ds's clothes off because he puked all over them and put him on the floor and he started crawling on his hands and feet! It is very funny! Just putting a pic of it on my profile!

wow he really is a mover! Great pic! Matilda's not managed to get her belly up off the ground yet, but is close. I think she can't decide whether to learn to crawl or sit up first.

BadZelda · 05/12/2007 11:19

And I love a bit of star magazine: super trash!

justbeme · 05/12/2007 11:21

wow Holly thats amazing ! -how many weeks is he now?

Help - blardy gone and lost the Christmas 07 thread again - does anyone know where it is? I forgot about pressies for teachers and need to do some emergency shopping

Sputnik · 05/12/2007 12:44

Thanks for giving me an idea for my next craft project with DD Holly.

Nobody woke me up til 8:10 this morning, I am a new woman

In celebration I decided to cancel school for DD, and we cut out cat shapes and glued spots on, she loved it. The we made pies for lunch, I hope she appreciates it and leaves me in peace for a bit later

Sounds like we have all been having similar things with our toddlers, it's ressuring really. BadZ that is so true that you get in loop where you reinforce each other's negativity, it's easy to spiral out of control. After a week on my own I could feel myself heading that way yesterday. Anyway, here's to a better day for all of us

foxythesnowman · 05/12/2007 12:46

Hello, just dropping in quickly, been a bit manic here this morning - I've got that agitated, manic, its-all-a-bit-much hyperactivity going on. Brought on by through the night feeding, am a bit twitchy and on edge.

Have to dash to take LO to hospital for the pointless appointment. Still, better go and put an end to this weight-thing (fingers crossed).

BZ, I just wanted to say that when I had 'challenging behaviour' with DS1 (DS2 was a baby and I was PG with DD1) I took him to the behaviour specialist at our local GP practice. She told me to keep a diary of when he bit (that was his thing, biting us and random children, not siblings). This really helped me keep things in perspective. But most importantly she said to spend 10 minutes a day with just him. I came away crying feeling hopeless, but as soon as I did this, the biting stopped almost instantly. I don't know if this will help you, but it certainly helped our family so thought I'd pass it on.

Righto, gotta go.

Oh, and I think its worth adding that kids go bonkers at this time of year. I remember it from last year. A friend of mine puts it all down to the Christmas build up, lots of things are happening and they are all going a bit funny. It could be a seasonal thing. But I'm sure this kicking off is common.

foxythesnowman · 05/12/2007 12:49

here you go Annobal

Its in my watch list - easy access in an emergency!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 05/12/2007 13:00

Thanks Foxy, you're a star

foxythesnowman · 05/12/2007 13:01

Are you still meeting up on Monday?

AAARRRGGGHHH!! My dd just threw a jar of jam on the kitchen floor and smashed it!

Good luck at the hosp foxy x

Ds is 5 and a bit months, not sure in weeks. He was born on the 23rd June. He is still going commando a bit, but is crawling for a good few feet at a time. It's really quite good because he gets so tired and needs to have a little cat nap every couple of hours!

Are you a Disney fan too MHC? I am a bit obsessed and have a large collection of videos, which I'm dreading the thought of having to replace on DVD! This morning we have been watching Cinderella and Winnie the Pooh!

this isn't the most appropriate time for me to say that babyboo slept from 6.30 last night until 8.00 this morning, is it

I woke up in a blind panic actually (slept through the alarm, which usu isn't needed) and ran through to her room fearing she'd suffocated on a cuddly toy, and she was flat on her face....but obv. happy.

Her rash is getting worse so have been back to the doctors who thinks it's viral and will clear itself. Apart from that big sleep, she is bright and sparky enough. Her nappy rash is more of a concern, and the doc thinks it is most likely eczema so we have got stronger steroids. She said try using johnston's baby lotion and tissue to clean her, but I though Johnston's was the work of satan? Any gentle baby lotions out there? do earth friendly baby do one mhc? (I can't remember what those samples were you sent me)

DS has been taking the arrival of babyboo out on DH and I as well. It's getting better, slowly, and one to one time with him definately helps.

sorry that was all me, me, me
